Joe if ya ever read this thank you I always liked the blues player for 30 years the Becker nerd ville was awesome man music speaks to the soul 100 percent ... but the world needs music more now than ever .
Fantastic. Fortunate to have been driving past a BBQ place near Zigzag, Oregon around Christmas just before the pandemic and saw a reader board advertising Curtis Salgado & Lloyd Jones playing that evening. Place couldn’t have held more than 50 people. What an unbelievable treat. As valuable Oregon landmarks as Mt. Hood itself.
Joe and Eric did another in Huntsville, Al in April 2021! Beautiful exchange with joy and obvious camaraderie! I posted video on RUclips on an old iPhone but you can still feel how special it was!
Joe and Curtis, great show! Stories, humor and heroes! You guys should do a part 2. And if Curtis does that guest appearance, someone better video it! ❤️
@@elenaskrypnikova3472... Elena, thank you so much for offering to send your recipe, but it is extra work for you, so I am happy to try one of the recipes that I found on the internet instead. From what I read on Google, the cottage cheese pie recipe originated in Greece, and all the pictures featured a soft-cooked egg in the middle of the pie. Looked very good! Maybe the recipe is Russian, too, for all I know. You would be the expert on that! 🌹 🌹 🌼 🌺 🌷
@@M._Lou Hello, M. Lou 🤗 🤗 🤗 it's not such difficult, because I was writing before this recipe. I even took some pictures, but I can send it in FB, but not in YT. I will send the recipe to You a little later. Hugs!!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗✨💝🌿
Thanks for the Rockefellers shout out!! Life long Houstonian, I miss that place. Saw -MANY- legends there back in the day.. Great show Joe.. I loved your recent Red Rocks concert too.
❤️ JOE you did a fantastic acoustic song on your encore in San Jose JUST EXCEPTIONAL ❤️ and Portland music in my career, for a moment Dennis Bradford was my drummer ❤️ love your music Curtis
Curtis played my club back in the late 80’s early 90’s (before the Seattle Grunge scene came with a vengeance) in Salem,Ore when he was heavy into the Portland scene then with the Stilleto’s ? Robert Cray & the Burnside Bombers etc Cool Dude . Harp player ?
Curtis is a killer harp player/singer extraordinaire. Curtis is my paternal grandfather's nephews son. Funny thing is me and my grandfather can also play harmonica, but Curtis took it to another level.
Curtis seems like a good, funny storyteller ... and poor Joe seems to have a cold. He's also put on the warm "jacket". At least it seems to me ... get well with a little delay
This is absolutely wonderful!!
What a fantastic well of stories!
And great music recommendations!
You ARE the best joe!
Awesome interview. Curtis is an OG. Love it!

Awesome interview, Thank you Joe!!
Fantastic stories! What a great conversation, really enjoyed this one! I’m gonna go dig into some Curtis Salgado records. Cheers! 🎸🇨🇦
Do yourself a big favor and find Curtis' cd "More Than You Can Chew". It shows Curtis Salgado at his best.
Talked with Johnny Shines in the early eighties. He said Robert Johnson and him played blues of course, also Jimmy Rogers ( not Chicago).
One of the best episodes of Nerdville!
Sooo awesome JOE❤️

Used to see Curtis and Robert Cray at Taylor's in Eugene back in the late seventies.
That’s cool love Robert Cray

Been a fan of Curtis' since 1970, at high school. Had choir with him.
...Mike Finnagin passed away not too long ago. The guy was/will always be, amazing...........

Curtis: "I hope you edit that out..."
Joe (in his mind): "Yeah, of course I will -- fingers crossed"

Oh and Terry Robb, can’t forget Terry Robb . He was a heavyweight in the Portland blues scene back in the day .

Yeah Eric Gales is definitely one-of-a-kind... it's hard to even imagine how he does what he does

Down Child Blues Band = Toronto Canada
Awesome interview!!! Joe is a thoughfull and understanding interviewer. Need to rewatch, rrright now 👑😎🎸
Curtis Salgado is the best white Soul, Rhythm and Blues singer ever. Now I know he also is a great story teller.
