Jim mcAllister, says the Union has never been in such a perilous state, as it is now. What he didn't mention, was that he and most other unionists politicians, have put the union in a perilous state by their support for Brexit. A Brexit the majority of people in N.I. voted against. When is the penny ever going to drop, that the British government have zero interest in N.I., and would like to see the back of it. Brexit has fast tracked this desire to see the back of it. The Unionists were warned that Brexit was going to cause problems for N.I. but they didn't want to know. Have the chickens come home to roost OR WHAT!!!
Spot on. Northern Ireland is on a steep decline, and the leaders in London could not give a toss. It's high time the people of northern Ireland had a say for leaving the united kingdom.
Bang on. The TUV's slogan for this election has been "Let's restore the Union". However, I want to ask them, even if they get 1 MP to Westminster, which seems unlikely as they are the 6th smallest party in NI (with the 4 and 5th being way ahead of them in numbers) what is a single MP going do to undo a international trade agreement that has been in place for months now, and was set in place by Europe's biggest economic power and the 5th largest economy in the world. Even with their pact with Reform UK, Reform alone cannot push to get this legislation undone. The TUV is willing to scream we need to undo the Irish Sea border, but they are unable to say how they will do that. And ultimately, what they fail to realise, is that it was their beloved UK government that agreed to the Protocal and Irish Sea border. If they really cared about us as much as we cared about our union with them, they wouldn't have allowed it to be put in place. But they did, because to them, we are a rowdy overseas territory that causes them a great deal of fuss and money, for a very low and economic return. They will never admit it, but they will be glad for Irish reunification, because honestly, we're the one colony they couldn't get rid of.
It is about time the media reported on what is happening in Northern Ireland pertaining to the election. Let's be honest, the people on the island of Great Britain don't really understand fully the politics of Northern Ireland and it is often far from our minds. Evidenced by the comparative lack of views of this video and very few comments in comparison with other election news. The DUP are entitled to their political opinion, but surely they must see this lack of interest by the rest of the UK and realise that very few ordinary people in Scotland, England and Wales will lament Northern Ireland becoming part of the Republic of Ireland. The only people that care are the politicians of the Conservative & Unionist Party and the likes of Reform who want to use Northern Ireland and specifically the customs border in the Irish Sea as political leverage. Putin loving Farage would likely happily attempt to annex the Republic Of Ireland before he even considered Northern Ireland leaving the union. That about sums up the level of interest and feeling of Northern Ireland being part of the union. Wake up DUP. You are Irish and far better off with the Republic as the peoples of Great Britain by and large, don't really give a toss. Sad, but true.
it really has nothing to do with the opinions of people in england scotland and wales in regards to what the majority of people in Ni want, a lot of unionists don’t care if there not wanted in the uk, most want to reap the benefits of the union and for the country they were born into to continue on
Unionist politicians both in NI and Scotland live on a different planet. They know societies problems on these devolved areas are due to Westminster austerity. However they can't actually admit that because that I'd to admit the union is bad for these areas. They need to start being honest with themselves and the public.

Whatbit shows is that while particularly the Tories want to treat Brexit as an unspeakable issue, in Northern Ireland, the issue of Brexit is very real. When that referendum was called for June 2016, it was treated as a one size fits all solution. The problem is that due to the ignorance at best, outright stupidity at worst by those on the Leave Campaign that claimed that Northern Ireland would be unaffected, it has left many angry that they have been duped and the consequence was that (Unionists and Nationalists can agree on this) that it made a United Ireland much closer to reality than before.
