After watching too many other videos, I found this one! And now, after many failed tries down through the years, I had success! Thanks very much for such a helpful tutorial. I now have a polished set of mailing labels for my holiday cards.
I spent (literally) hours yesterday trying to make labels from an excel file by following written instructions. I was so frustrated. You showed me exactly what to look for in each step. Wow! Thank you SO much.
Hurray! Well done. I do this every year and have always looked at the Microsoft instructions. I would never get it right! This was SOOOO much better. Thank you!
Wow, great video. Most video tutorials go so fast that I can't understand what they are doing. Yours covered each step clearly and didn't assume I had any previous knowledge (which I didn't). It worked exactly as you showed except my label outlines weren't visible (but I figured out it didn't matter).
I used to have to take a Xanax before doing my annual huge mail merge for work purposes, it was that stressful. Now I just go to this video, watch as a refresher, and get to it. THANK YOU.
Holy cow, this is the 5TH video I've watched on this and I FINALLY got it. THANK YOU! You did an excellent job of explaining this. I never leave comments on videos but here I am! Thanks again and happy holidays!
FANTASTIC video!!! I have "winged it" for years and struggled to smoothly create my labels. Your video showed me the error of my ways. Thank you so much!
Your video was spot on. I had done this before and I needed a refresher. As soon as I heard your voice and teaching style, I knew your channel was for me. I am going to subscribe and I look forward to viewing more videos. Many thanks.
Thanks for making this so easy - I have done it before, but with the time lapse between when I have to conduct a mail merge, I always forget the steps!
Thank you so much! Very helpful! I knew there was a way to do this. WAY back when before they changed everything like late 90's early 00' I had this down...now I swear I have to look it up every time.
You saved Christmas! I used to have address labels 5+ years ago. My then-new computer used a different version of Excel, and I guess I was too lazy to figure it out. Deciding that this year I was going to change things (namely a very sore hand from hand-addressing those Christmas cards), I discovered your tutorial and it was perfect. Your voice is clear and your terminology is easy to follow. My cards may arrive late, but it's so much better than never arriving at all. Thank you!
This video was absolutely excellent. Your teaching style is wonderful. I needed to update an old file of Christmas card labels and I found your RUclips just in time. I'm using a newer version of Word since the last time I created labels and there was no way I would have figured this out. I particularly liked your clear explanations, the many options you provided, and that you demonstrated how to go back and correct problems. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! 👍👍👍👍👍
I was looking for a video to simplify this procedure and I cannot believe how simple you made it. I liked and subscribed to your channel based on the simplicity of your teaching demeanor . Well done!
A very well put together and straight forward illustration of making labels. Like many RUclips videos the delivery was a little too quick but at least we can always go back to repeat. An excellent and clear video.
Thanks so much for posting. I forget how to do this every Holiday (and then the software changes anyway). This was easy and fast. Thank you! (And happy holidays!)
Thank you. Thank you And Thank you. I was going crazy trying to deal with this issue. I watched some guy try to do it.I read how to do it. I just tried to use the program. You were awesome.
Excellent job!! So helpful and easy to follow! Thank you...I've been looking for you for a very long time!! MS needs to include your tutorials in their "help" catalog!
This is the most helpful video I've ever watched. Thank you, I hate making labels and this took the frustration out of it! Love the step by step with visuals!
Excellent and to-the-point video! My word document would not show the label outlines unitl I set the cell outlines to show up (under the home tab) Then my word document only filled in one page of labels instead of all of the addresses in my spreadsheet. I think this was due to one of the street column cells in my reference spreadsheet being temporarily blank (waiting to find out that data). Otherwise your instructions worked perfectly! I have office 365, so my menu looked a little bit different, but not so much different that I could not figure it out. Again, well done, and thank you for putting this out for us!
Great video. I rarely do labels but this made it so easy to remember how best to do labels. You also showed a couple of new tricks I did not realize you could do. Great job.
Very helpful. Unfortunately "next record" did not populate on all the labels when I did this so I had to do it manually. Not sure why this happened. Great video!
So easy to follow, and thanks for the tips on getting excel document ready for merging. The only issue i had was my top label on each page cutoff the company name, I have the correct label selected, so not sure what happened. Thanks again!
Thanks very much! Very well done tutorial. I have one question -- what happens if you have one field that is present in some addresses but not others, such as country.. will that change anything?
Excellent video and I have saved for future reference since I don't do labels often. One question I have is when I view each label they are is too close to the left & tops margins. Then they sometimes print a little off the label if the label paper prints a tiny bit off. I don't know how to change the left and top spacing unless I do each one individually in layout. Not too much of a problem if I'm just doing one page, but not fun if doing large mailings. I can change left margin/spacing fairly easy, but not the top without doing individually. Any advice?
Is it possible to conditionally color some of the text on the label? Say certain names (or cities) need to be colored red or some other color which is based on value. And excel has the conditional formatting - is there a way to color different names/cities in different colors?
After watching too many other videos, I found this one! And now, after many failed tries down through the years, I had success! Thanks very much for such a helpful tutorial. I now have a polished set of mailing labels for my holiday cards.
you are the only one so far that said to "update labels" which was the key important piece for me, thank you!!!
I spent (literally) hours yesterday trying to make labels from an excel file by following written instructions. I was so frustrated. You showed me exactly what to look for in each step. Wow! Thank you SO much.
Thanks for explaining it in such detail. I’ve been retired for 10 years and we forget how to use these features on our computer. LOL Thanks again!
Hurray! Well done. I do this every year and have always looked at the Microsoft instructions. I would never get it right! This was SOOOO much better. Thank you!
