I had to watch this video twice, since I didn't hear a word you said the first time, Rick... I was to busy staring at the incredible display of cards you now have set up in the background. Absolutely gorgeous!
Awesome video and congrats on that Cobb! I completely agree, better to have an A than no card at all. Scarce options means we take what we can get for sure.
@vintageoddballcards6103 I am definitely down here looking up at the impressive collections of all you misfits. Ton of fun to share the hobby with you all!
Great philosophy on collecting for sure. Having grown up in MI and been collecting off n on since '68... goal is to own Cobb card one day! Thanks for sharing that!!
If you wanted to buy a Pete Alexander card to represent him in your collection at a reasonable price, what card would you recommend? Thanks for showing the picture and the Cobb Candy cards!
That is a beautiful card as I love portraits! I am with you Rick, have lowered my so called standards to obtain cards I desire, as costs have gone way above my comfort zone. Just picked up a 1938 Goudey Hank Greenberg with scribbles a PSA 3 MK as the kid who owned it Initialed the back in beautiful cursive. Saved me a great amount of money and the front is beautiful. Would have passed it years ago. I also have many tobacco cards with unique stamps on the back like your Cobb. That Alexander Photo is marvelous.
@vintageoddballcards6103 honestly. I have no problem added an A to the collection. It's still a real card of what the person is looking for. Some A grade look better than some 1 2 3's etc
I have been snagging cheap "A"s for years as in my eyes it is an affordable way to obtain certain cards that I could not have otherwise. I have even cracked some out and resubmitted and they received high grades.
Congratulations on snagging the Cobb! I’ve got a T205 Mathewson SGC A that looks like a 7, though it’s trimmed. By the way, your background looks fantastic!
Very nice Cobb. I agree. Totally worth the Authentic purchase for that card. Presents beautifully.
Love the Alexander photo. I visited his grave site this summer and visited the museum in his home town. Interesting stuff.

@@scottstuber5857 thanks! Better than having my wife’s plates in the background
Awesome Cobb Rick , much greater beauty than the technical grade of "A" on the slab. Congratulations and thanks for sharing 👍
Heck yeah, every day of the week! Beautiful Cobb, Rick!
@@mikethesportshistorycollec1947 Thanks Mike!
Wow Rick, very nice Cobb pickup. Very nice card.
@@peterb4871 Thanks! I always appreciate you watching.
Beautiful Cobb Rick! I also love the Jerry Sloan rookie card on the shelf, that is also a beautiful card🤪😂😜.
Every collector needs a Sloan RC
Hey Rick! That TY Cobb is beautiful! It’s awesome to have a great looking example of a card like that in the collection A or otherwise!
@@PickerJimS thanks Jim!
Glad you picked up that beauty! I’m certain it has better eye appeal than many of the 1-2s!
@@Bluejacket66Unfortunately, I’m not made of money. Need to make choices in what I collect. I’m glad I picked the Cobb up! Thanks Dave!

Strip cards or playing cards (Tom Barker) are pretty reasonable. Rick of course may have some awesome suggestions as he is a wealth of knowledge.
Hey Rick, I like his 1927 Harrington or York cards. Or his 1922 American caramel The 1922 you can find a PSA 1 or 2 for around $400-500 dollars
I'm beginning to love the A's, 1 & 2's. I already love Vintage Oddball Cards and the Ty Cobb
I never got A’s in school. I might as well get them now.
