This is great stuff. Adam Rapa is his own powerhouse. At the same time, it makes me think back & marvel at how Maynard made his range seem so effortless for 40+ years.
@Jazztrumpet2012 Yeah it's pretty a pretty awesome idea. I've recorded myself with the silent brass hooked up to the computer.. the guitar amp makes it sound pretty awesome
what was that song in the introduction with the little slideshow? been wondering what the name was since national jazz workshop, it kinda fell otu of my head. amazing video though
I love how he's using a Boss effects processor with his silent brass system. All you really need is an adapter to change an 1/8 inch input to a 1/4 inch input.
@ledderzed yea thats what he is doing...you need a special connector to hook it up the the amp though. There is a video on youtube of a guy giving wa tutorial on how to do it if you are interested
@ledderzed its the yamaha silent brass system You can find it at a music and arts store or Attinas...but its about $100 to $200...I wouldnt recommend it though

Great musician..... no more guitar... YESSSSS... :) Thx Adam...
It's wonderful!!! The muffled sound of the first looks like a guitar with distortion. Not to mention that he is very cute too srsr

That's "Better Get Hit in Your Soul" by Charles Mingus in the intro.
@mrfullofhimself Yamaha Silent Brass system. Costs about a hundred bucks these days, I think.
@JamesMichaelFox i'm pretty sure he ran it through a guitar overdrive pedal....but it is still awesome nonetheless
dang he has chops of steel... i mean like 7 or so minutes straight with extreme upper register playing but i guess thats why hes a pro
Guitar player at 5:40. " I guess ill start playing somewhere around here.."
I guess I can play the guitar after all
@ledderzed There's nothing wrong with using the right equipment for the job.
to all those mouthpiece switchers out there - notice how he does the slow, low ballad on the same mouthpiece that he does the insane screaming?
What kind of trample he used ( in B, in C or another one)?
+Alan Far Thats his normal Monnette. Bb.
@JamesMichaelFox no, You are blonde, wear glasses/contacts, and you play trumpet. Your are also part of Roanoke College Jazz band. Creeped out yet =)
