Jennifer McMahon’s writing is so insidious. It really hits home and makes you “feel.” Awesome

I've got Near the bone on kindle but need to read Christina Henry's previous The Ghost Tree first because I've got it on paperback. McMahon books are always about sisters or ghosts or both and dual timelines: read The INVITED and THE night sister 😉

Ahh I’m just finishing the vlog and I’m SO happy to hear how much you liked Near The Bone! I just bought it a couple weeks ago because I was so intrigued by the premise. Isolation is a favorite trope of mine and it seems sooo perfect for next winter. I haven’t heard anyone talk about it and now I’m so excited!

I finished Near the Bone as well and same!! The creature was so good. And I liked how Mattie was so used to knowing her surrounding, she could feel everything. William was garbage. The abuse made me sick in the stomach which hardly happens to me while reading, so he was trash!

i read a house at the bottom of the lake this month and gave it 5 stars, i didn’t think it was weird, i mean it was but it was a less weirder than i expected. i think it depends on how you read it because i read it from a romance perspective so when i got to the end i was like “aw that’s sweet” even tho it definitely should’ve spooked me LOL sometimes being a hopeless romantic takes over my entire brain

I’ve been trying to read more thrillers this year and I can always count on you for good recommendations
I’ve read a handful of cozy mysteries and am personally not a fan of the genre. They tend to be more predictable and boring than I prefer. I definitely prefer thrilling mysteries.
Having said that, I haven’t completely written off the genre yet, so I am going to give “Arsenic and Adobo” a go.

I loved The Drowning Kind!! I literally had to reread the epilogue because I was like whattttttt. It was so so good. I love Jennifer McMahon’s books. If you haven’t read her book The Invited you should.

The night sister by Jennifer Mcmahon is great too! I like it even better than the drowning kind. Great vlog! Looking forward to reading arsenic and adobo too. I just started reading Dial A for aunties, and I have a feeling it has a similar vibe as arsenic and adobo - different cultures, funny murder mysteries. Would love to hear your thoughts on dial a for aunties too 😊
