Bro! He can kick higher than I can! I'm no means flexible, but this is amazing

We all lose flexibility to a point as we age. GTS Gaje, even at 80+ years old is still dangerous with a weapon.

Thanks for showing how the drills translates to the operability and function.

Yeah, it's important to break out of drills and patterns because the actual fight is gonna be out of rhythm.

True. To understand the technique, you have to learn through the pain and keep calm at the same time.

Pekiti has turned out some very good fighters, so I will temper my comments and just say this: With a blade, Leo Gaje is is terrifying. With a stick, he's scary as hell. But this particular empty hands demo left me ...less impressed. Some nasty tricks, to be sure, but would they work reliably against an aggressive and non-compliant opponent? For example: LG demonstrates a devious little spinning groin kick at 1:21. Yeah, that could work, but if it doesn't, you've just given your back to your opponent ...and at very close range. Pretty risky. ....Or check this out: "He punches..." (3:18). Can you reliably catch a real punch ...one that's not just left hanging out there? I can't. In fact the only reason this would work reliably, even for the "Gand Tuhon", is that you can be damned sure that he's got 2 or 3 blades hidden under his clothes ...and I for one don't want to end up in little pieces!

Exactly my experience. With weapons pkt is one of the best systems out there. But empty handed is to "playful".
