Ray Liotta (RIP) was already kinda "boomer" status, legendary acting career. He had already been there and done that, but was unaware of how fucking big GTA was and would be (and he acted like a diva and all that probably before and DEFINITELY just after the release of the game.... It is what it is). Young Maylay (Fontino--Franklin's blood cousin in real life), ended up having issues with Rockstar and how they handled things. Niko's voice actor only made like $100K for his performance lol. Shawn Fontino and Michael's voice actor seem to be on board with R*, so they're doing alright. Steve Ogg? Not sure about him. He's an oddball, it seems.

That is not nearly the same as just speaking lines into a microphone in a recording booth. Even people playing the game in a different language are able to directly see the acting that is being done, it's transcends language
