You know, what I've found that I like about your reviewing style is that you always seem to find something positive to say, even if you clearly don't like what it is. I really admire that trait.
Roses is a name for a box of chocolates, there are more like celebrations, heroes, quality street etc they have different types of chocolatespecially inside them.
Jusna Begum yep: I think the idea of calling them Roses was that you could give them like (or with) a bunch of flowers as a gift. The original selection boxes were a sort of upside-down triangle, roughly the same shape as a bunch of flowers.
justmeish1997 , those look great. The selection of flavors is quite different from what you typically find in a US box of mixed chocolates. I think I'd like the Roses more. I love caramels and hazelnuts. Much nicer than creams and jellies.
Its really nice watching you eat random new stuff like that tango sweets, traditional/ old fashioned (party rings) and stuff I had as a kid (whistle/ jelly babies). The Roses were interesting as they are traditionally a selection box with multiple flavours, that pack was just the strawberry ones and yes I liked the strawberry design as a kid too!
Party rings are like the ultimate childrens party biscuit, you find them mashed into carpets and smeared on the walls. the biscuit isn't great tbh but it melts on contact with liquid and goes all mushy while the icing kind of dissolves. They're pretty tasty but a bit odd.
Jelly Babies were invented in Victorian England & were origionally called 'unclaimed babies' & were a tribute to the lost children of the workhouses & orphanages. Very sad but true! Another little fact about them is everybody still wonders what flavour the black one is, assuming it's blackcurrent because it has a definite 'berry' quality to the flavour but its actually made of a mix of all the other jelly babie flavours combined.:)
A quick summary of the foods: Roses are a selection box, the packet is just of the strawberry cream flavor. The name supposed to be a play on giving people flowers and chocolates (you normally give people roses as a gift usually to say thank you). Tango is normally a fizzy drink which is normally orange flavour but also has an apple flavor (which I personally prefer) and I think maybe some limited edition flavors. If you are a kid you eat hula hoops by putting one on each finger first :). Jelly babies are an old classic in England (the blackcurrant ones are normally the favorites and people argue over who gets to eat them). Party rings are eaten mostly at children's parties people tend to grow out of the level of sweetness. the whistle might have melted in the post the sound isn't great. Marmite chocolate is very new, and not very common. the ones I have left out don't need explanation or I don't know them. I hope this is helpful. :)
Brit here - not only do you get it spot on about all the nostalgia of my youth (the sender knows their UK culture :) ) but you also do so in a way that isn't rose tinted. Thanks!
That tango stuff, lived in the UK all my life, and I've never clapped eyes on it, PS, tango is basically just fanta, but a direct competitor, they do other fruit soft drinks, tango orange (I believe it's the original) tango apple, and my favourite, tango cherry, there might be more. Just what I know :)
Just discovered your channel about a week ago now emmymadeinjapan and it's fascinating watching your current videos in comparison to your videos made years ago now. I love your videos, and I'm so glad that I was able to find your channel!
Ready salted hula hoops are my favourite...I´m 37 and still put one on each finger to eat them lol. The party rings are AMAZEBALLS! When to comes to minty chocolate bars, I much prefer after eight sticks or even a mint Aero...OMG I wish I had those now! lol.
Roses are a brand, they usually have a wide range of sweets in them, such as toffees, orange crimes, milk chocolate with a hazelnut in it, that kind of thing.
Oli Donohue oh sorry Grammar Nazi.ASMR person* happy now?Sorry but i didn't want to sound like having a desease....i am proud of having ASMR i am not english speaker btw.And it is a condition, not everybody has ASMR ._.
+polibear secasder (official gay trash) ASMR is a reaction that's triggered by certain stimuli and can happen to anyone. It's not a mental characteristic like ADHD or OCD is.
Roses have many different assorted chocolates in them which some have changed over the years. They're good to buy as a gift so I always wondered if they're called Roses because they're good to give like flowers to a host or something.
I used to love the whistle pops! Here in ny they came with a little paper of sheet music in the wrapper so you could play a short tune by following the numbers on the stick. They were songs like twinkle little star or yankee doodle.
The Roses strawberry chocolates are just one of the chocolates you can get in a selection box of chocolate type things, they also have caramel ones, fudge, orange, nut etc. They're all different shapes. The drink Tango is an orange flavoured drink originally and most commonly but I've seen apple as well. :)
Marmite is amazing like it's really delicious. So when i read the tittle i was like "marmite flavored chocolate is exist???", i want to try the marmite chocolate so badly :(
Marmite chocolate! I was always wondered what it would taste like. Good to hear that it tastes good. I shold get it when I go to London this summer. Thank you for the info:-)
Roses are a type of chocolate. Usually at Christmas you get a big box with all different flavours much like Quality Streets or Crlebrations. Yours were just a specific flavour - strawberry dream!
There are more flavours of tango than just orange, buts it the first flavour that comes to mind. It was once just a drink, but its also now in sweets and bath and shower products too!
Roses is like a brand name, kinda! It's originally a box or tin of chocolates with a selection of different centers, ie: coffee cream, strawberry cream, caramel, I can't remember them all. They have been a traditional Christmas treat for decades, here in the UK. The Roses product you had is like a recent side product, like the tango pop rocks are a side product of the original tango orange drink. I've never seen that marmite and chocolate bar before. I love marmite but I don't think I could eat it with chocolate lol! Oh, and bbq beef hola hoops are my fave. They used to be a lot stronger in flavour though. The UK has a habit of being stingy with its products, for example, I am from Cornwall in the UK and anyone who knows Cornwall, also knows of our famous Cornish Pasty. You can buy a factory made "Cornish Pasty" from other parts of the UK and they no bigger than your hand but a REAL Cornish Pasty is bigger than a dinner plate.
Omg! I loooved those melody pops as a kid! My brother and i used to try to "outplay" each other lol...i was also going to mention chupa chups because i want to say it was them who made a lollipop n crackling candy like the Tango, but the pop was in the shape of a foot. I can't find them anywhere anymore, but they're still my favorite candy.
Original tango is orange flavoured, but it also comes in apple and cherry flavours, i'm not sure if you can get it in any different flavours in popping candy form. Roses is actually a famous chocolate selection box made by cadburys, and strawberry dreams are one of the chocolates you get in the box, they only just recently started selling individual bags of just one of the types of chocolates :)
The "chalk" you mention on Jelly Babies is actually pure starch. This is used to enable the sweets to come out of the mold in one piece and remains as part of the product when sold. Best way to taste test Jelly Baby flavours is to first dip them in spring water to remove the starch. Upon doing that the flavour bursts forth more vibrantly than a gazelle scared by a predator.
Cadbury Roses usually come in a box and there are different flavours and fillings. This smaller packet only contains the milk chocolate with strawberry filling variety. I think they are called Roses because the idea is that you can give them to someone instead of a bouquet of roses.
Hello Normally you buy a bag or box of roses and they have an assortment of about 20 different sweets, The Strawberry Dreams are only one of them. The original Tango was a orange drink in a can. And only available in Orange. I prefer Dark chocolate so have never tried the Marmite one, I did find a Marmite Cheese at my local Supermarket Andy C
Roses usually come as a box filled with lots of different flavoured chocolate, the roses strawberry dreams edition will just be a one off thing because its one of the most favoured and tango is a fizzy orange drink similar to fanta, which must have also created a one off edition with popping candy. Also, as a kid we would put the hula hoops on all of our fingers and eat them off one by one :') hahah
Roses normally come in a big tub or box and it has loads of flavours but now they do little bags of certain flavours so people can pick out their favourite flavour
Nice one Emmy - I havn't heard of some of those myself. The normal form of Roses is a selection box with lots of different flavours in it. I didn't know they did packs of just one kind. Original Tango is indeed orange-flavoured.
I didn't even know roses came in seperate packs like that! I thought they just came in boxes.. You learn something new every day.. I used to like tango, They have apple, cherry and orange flavours (from what I know) HulaHoops are some of my fav crisp snacks!
I been wondering for a while now, what do you do with the candy after you finished recording your "testing"? Do you eat everything over time? Hand it out to others? Throw it away?
Matilda Uebel yes she once she shares them with family and friends. we sent her a package (austria #2) last year and got a sample package with sweets and treats from all over the world from emmy in return. =)
I'm very interested on how that Marmite Chocolate tastes like!! I did a review video of the Vegemite but me and my friends didn't like it. But I bet it tastes better with chocolate.
I love Jelly Babies - always buy a lot of them when I'm in London - They were a favourite of George Harrison and fans used to throw them on stage when the Beatles played. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jelly_Babies
cadbury roses are normally a whole selection of different chocolates: caramel, dark chocolate, fruit....etc. It seems you got a bag of only one of the flavors - strawberry. :)
Hey Emmy, Great video. I wanted to know, since you have mentioned in earlier videos that you still have many packages that you haven't opened/tasted yet, if you have any packages from India. I know you have not tasted India before. If not, I will be more than happy to send you a nice package of yummy goodies from here which I am sure you will love. Hope you see this. :) have an awesome day!
There are these types of British cookies called Jammy Dodgers which I've heard are really good. Its two Shortbread Cookies with Raspberry Jam in the middle.
We have the Tango dipping thing in the US, but the lollipop is a foot. It has a weird sweet, almost milky kind of taste, which is kind of odd, but that's what I like about it.
The Chupa Chup logo was mainly designed as (and sponsor to) a computer game gimmick to rival the Sega Sonic the Hedgehog icon, before this time the logo was even more basic and nondescript. The character was called Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension and appeared in the Commodore Amiga 512 and 1024K versions in 2 games from 1992 to 1993.
Quinoline Yellow is not listed as a permitted food additive in Canada or the US thats e104 that was in the rainbow drops as well as a lot more but i love them also i need to try some of that marmite chocolate
Emmy, I just love your videos. I was wondering if you'd be willing to make a new series: sensitivity recipes. Where you can test out recipes that are (insert anything) free (I.e. Vegan, gluten free, dairy free etc.)?
we have an expression in the UK " its a Marmite thing" which means you either hate it or love it, check out their ad's on RUclips and you'll get what I mean, great review as always
amazing video I have tried lotsnof those things more than once before because I qm from the uk my favorite ones are probably rainbow drops and party rings , :)

Party rings are like the ultimate childrens party biscuit, you find them mashed into carpets and smeared on the walls. the biscuit isn't great tbh but it melts on contact with liquid and goes all mushy while the icing kind of dissolves. They're pretty tasty but a bit odd.
They are nostalgic. But they taste like shit
You have a very relaxing voice. I live in the UK I love all the UK snacks you get sent

Roses are a brand, they usually have a wide range of sweets in them, such as toffees, orange crimes, milk chocolate with a hazelnut in it, that kind of thing.
One of the best British selections so far, well done Miss Emily! My childhood nostalgia is high! Jelly babies and party rings are the best :D
i actually adore all of Emmy's reactions.
Thanks so much for the review Emmy! I was worried the marmite chocolate wouldn't go well together. :D
I love your backround sounds they are so calming! :D
Yeah!!I am ASMR so this relax me a lot

I love pop rock. I first tried it when I was 11 but now when you said you wish their were sour ones, I wish they did made that too.
Love your videos!

Tango is originally orange flavour but I have seen it in apple and cherry
And I have also seen the tango shock rocks in either grape or cherry
I think
Original tango is orange but there are also other flavours such as cherry and black currant
The powder on jelly babies is starch so they leave the molds intact
Roses have all sorts of chocolate.Caramel, toffee, orange, etc.
Like heroes or quality street.
I love Party Rings 😅😄😄😄😄😄😄
same 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
The original tango is orange flavour but you can get apple and raspberry and lemon and a few others I believe
