    That was some beautiful yodelling, not some commercialised ridiculously fast tone switching but some smoothly laid out emotional tones.

      "Kachelöfen" (tile stoves) like the one you mentioned are still quite common in some parts of the Germany. They create uncomparable warmth and cosiness. Kachelofenbauk is a handicraft that becomes more common again in Germany, especially in Bavaria.

    I love this style of yodeling. I keep coming back to this video because it gives me exciting chills and a tingle that envelopes and infuses within my entire body to the point where I feel almost weightless. Very exhilarating, very healthy. Fast yodeling may be popular but I never hear a story. But here I am listening to a wonderful story.

    I've searched all over to find if head voice or falsetto is used to yodel - and I still haven't found a definitive answer

    • @HowToPronounceGerman
      @HowToPronounceGerman  9 лет назад +1

      moggiee1 If you look at this video you get the answer.
      The guy explains that the alteration of head voice and chest voice is characteristic.

    • @moggiee1
      @moggiee1 9 лет назад +1

      German Channel I have since found out that it is almost certainly falsetto that is used. Many people use the term head voice when they are actually referring to falsetto, as is the case in this video. However, that doesn't explain how women can yodel so well when they have just chest and head voice but no falsetto. I'm getting boring now, aren't I :)

    • @gucdude
      @gucdude 8 лет назад +7

      +moggiee1 Falsetto is less of a register or voice and more of a tonal choice. Falsetto is when the focal folds aren't completely engaged, and the voice gains a more whisper-y tone to it. Every person has a separation between their "chest" register and "head" register, therefore everybody whether they are male or female can yodel. Many many many people make the mistake of calling falsetto a register, when really they are speaking of head voice or head resonance.

    • @moggiee1
      @moggiee1 8 лет назад +2

      +moggiee1 It is actually head voice. Having fruitlessly searched high and low for an answer to this I had to discover it for myself. It's all about developing the break in the voice from chest to head, rather than chest to falsetto (which is too weak in my case). Now I've learned this I'm loving yodelling :)

    • @moggiee1
      @moggiee1 8 лет назад +4

      +Maxwell Gucinski Thanks for your reply Maxwell, through trial and error I have indeed found that it is definitely chest and head voice that is used in yodeling. Strengthening the break from chest to head is the key to getting going with this
