Elina Garanca is one of my favorite opera singers. Love her voice.
She´s my favorite Opera singer, I love her performances, clear, loud and beautiful voice and presence.
I love your appreciation of and respect for the amazing skills of opera singers.
CARMEN is the only COMPLETE opera that I have seen in person, and it was an experience I will NEVER forget! I LOVED it!!
Love Elina! One of the most sought after mezzos these days. I have been fortunate enough to see her performer live a few times. Amazing talent!

Loved your reaction to this. Agreed that a really good opera singer will let you know what is going on, even when only seeing the one aria.
By the way, you're correct - Carmen is absolutely playing José. She's had her hands tied up because they're going to come and take her to jail, so she's basically trying to get him to untie her so she can escape her sentence. And he, like a sucker, falls for it.
Elina is by far the best Carmen.

if you like watching opera you should watch ping pang pong from Turandot the interaction between the three singers is fantastic the other one is from Carmen 3 years ago it was from Carmen on the lake the final scene where she drowns she was in full scuba gear under her costume and still hit the top of her range with ease.
I can see, and one should ask one self, is it a good or a bad madness. Not every madness is evil tho. Be careful what mud you step in tho :)
Give a try to Carmen Domingo, Obraztsova, Kleiber, Zeffirelli, 1978, YT has full record of this opera with subtitles, and this perfomance is one of the best.
They have tiny microphones now that can be hidden in their hair line and are mostly invisible to the audience.

@@elisabetta611 Indeed. They do not need them because opera houses are built the way a professional singer easily fills the whole room with her/his voice!
However, for recording reasons they wear microphones ... 🤔
