- These 2 Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad locomotives were crawling through East Kingsford, MI in the RAIN on Wednesday, slow enough to jump on if you really wanted too.. Plus a few clips from Midget Wrestling last night at The Maxx Entertainment Center!

There is a rumored on another channel that the CN is going to buy the E&SL now that they have acquired the Iowa Northern. Also rumored they have their eyes on the Iowa Interstate.

Watching that slow speed reminds me of the Columbus and Greenville back in the early 80s and also footage on the Louisiana Midland but thankfully E&LS doesn't derail on every trip like LOAM did
In Grand Rapids Michigan we had a gang called the T- hoppers. Ran the west side !
I think it was a good video. I don't mind them going slow, I like to inspect the rail cars also.

I will venture a guess that they are going so slow to stay on the rails, just my guess for what it is worth.

That's unusual... LHF isn't but to have two units nose to nose to run LHF in either direction is unique... :)
Ive got these guys figured out. There going slow and they know your filming all the rail cars. What better way to inspect their train, they just watch your video in a nice warm and dry place.

Where i live there are three railroads and they all used Gov funding to do a lot of right of way upgrade. Wondering if the E&LS will do the same or will be bought out.
E&LS has received a grant from State of MI for track improvements in 2024

Nahhhhhh, i wouldnt wanna hop on, i am so overweight, i would upset the balance on a freight car, and cause it to tip over & derail.
You’ve explained the slow train before. The terrible condition of the track & all the derailments. We can see how the track goes up & down, the cars rock & roll. Time for the railroad to fix up the rails.
I hear rumours that CN would like to acquire the ELS, so could it be that ELS doesn't want to fix up the track because if CN want it that badly they'll do it (and pay for it) when they get control.
Maybe they're running the train that slowly to annoy the car drivers, with the hope that they'll find another route for their journeys in future.
I heard ELS got some money to fix the track this was about a month ago. Someone commented on here thats what they were told.

E&LS just lurches from one derailment to the next. If they got state or federal money, their MO is to secretly funnel it to shareholders.

They have to by law those are not gated crossings
We ran at 30 MPH on the line I worked on, passenger, through crossings protected by STOP signs only.
