    ⚠IMPORTANT NOTE:⚠
    If you are considering purchasing the suggested insurance in the description, please ensure that accidental death and six months of coverage are included in the insurance letter. I recommend confirming these details with SafetyWing's customer 24/7 support team before making your purchase to avoid any complications with your visa application. Thank you crew.

      Thank you for your reply Captain! I reached out to Safety Wing's customer support and the agent informed me that they would not be able to include accidental death in the insurance letter, do you have any suggestions for alternative insurance carriers? Similarly, if my duration of stay in Japan is less than 6 months (working remote in Japan for 1 month), am I correct in understanding that I only need to purchase insurance for 1 month, rather than 6?

      In your situation, I recommend obtaining insurance for the duration of your stay, which is one month. Additionally, if you are not applying for a visa with specific requirements, the insurance letter does not need to cover accidental death. You might consider using Safety Wing, though I am not certain about other providers. I will be publishing a new video about health insurance in the coming months, as I am currently researching and consulting with various companies. I only want to recommend insurance that I trust and have verified, given my own negative experiences in the past. In my opinion, it's always beneficial to consult with multiple companies.

    Doing the lord's work @captainikigai ! I nearly gave up on this visa trying to navigate the Japanese website, even figuring out what documents I need was so much more complicated than any other visa process I've encountered. I even started searching for services that would help me me with it, and fortunately I found your video!
    FYI the PDF referenced is behind a paywall. Honestly, I think you should make this a donation button instead. In either case you're clearly filling a need in the market, Japanese bureaucracy is something else. Thank you for putting this together!

      Such a lovely comment...💙 Thank you so much! It took a lot of time and effort to put everything together since my research started four months before the visa even became official.
      Thanks for the great suggestion! I've added two donation buttons to this link: pensight.com/x/captainikigai. 😌
      🗣️ As a new feature, I've just launched 1:1 sessions specifically for visa-related questions within the same link.
      I hope your visa application is going smoothly, and I look forward to seeing you in Japan soon! 😀
      Cheers

    Thank you for the informative content! I have a question regarding visa transitions in Japan. If I enter Japan on a visitor visa (which lasts 90 days) and apply for a digital nomad visa (which lasts 180 days) during my stay, how are the 180 days counted if my application is successful? Specifically, are the days spent in Japan before the approval of the digital nomad visa deducted from the 180 days?
    Additionally, could you discuss whether obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is challenging if I apply while in Japan on a visitor visa?
    Thank you for addressing my queries!

      Thank you for your question. I consulted several individuals and checked a forum, but the transition time remains unclear. It would be best to contact the ministry directly to get accurate information. You can find their phone number in the left corner of the PDF chart.
      Regarding the Certificate of Eligibility (COE), if you have someone who can issue it for you, the process tends to be quite smooth based on my experience. Cheers

    I'm still worried about accomodation when I'm there though. Even though I'm well off enough to afford the digital nomad visa.. it's still too expensive for me to entertain.

    How much days its take to issue c.o.e for work visa

    • @captainikigai
      @captainikigai  2 месяца назад

      I am uncertain about the time frame for obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for a WORK VISA. According to some friends who have received a work visa, it can take up to three months. For the most accurate information, I recommend contacting the Japanese consulate, embassy, or the appropriate ministry. Cheers

    Hello, if I'm going to be working in Japan for a shorter period, i.e. 1 month, is it sufficient to obtain insurance coverage for the 1 month period?

    • @captainikigai

      Ahoy! I'm not sure if you'll be working remotely or on-site in Japan, but just to be safe, I wanted to share some information. Typically, my travel insurance covers me for up to 30 days while I'm abroad. If I extend my stay beyond 30 days, I always ensure I have health insurance coverage as well. These two types of insurance are quite different from each other, so it's important to be well-informed and prepared. As a side note, the insurance I recommend in the video, with a link provided in the description, will sufficiently cover your time in Japan. Stay safe and enjoy Japan! Cheers

    hi! is it possible to apply from within Japan while on a tourist status? Or is it going to look suspicious for the authorities, since you're technically proving that you're not a real tourist, bc you have a remote business? Has anyone successfully applied for a DNV from Japan as a tourist?

    • @captainikigai
      @captainikigai  Месяц назад

      You can apply for the digital nomad visa while you're in Japan on a tourist visa, though the process is more complicated due to the need for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), as mentioned in the video. I understand that some individuals may also be taking time off from their remote jobs while traveling in Japan on a tourist visa, applying for a different Japanese visa simultaneously. 😉 Just ensure that all your documents are complete and accurate. Cheers
