Carnage is one of the most 90's things ever.
It was a better time...
Oddly enough, it's that kind of 90's cheesiness I dig.
We need a Carnage movie since we have spiderman ,venom and now a Carnage movie
@@dhines10964 He should be in the Venom sequel first.
@@Kratosx23 a simpler time
They need to bring Carnage and Venom into the new Spiderman films.
Last time when they tried, Sam Raimi had no choice. But a director with the choice? Could be very interesting, especially as they could plant the story arc in Agents of Shield
No they need to officially hand over the rights and have Marvel do either one of those villains right. They totally screwed up Venom.
They are now. I'm not so sure if they will have Carnage.
@Logan Waltz did you watch venom it was not good
@@Reborn77774 you first Fuck head
*”There’s Gonna Be Carnage”*
That's what i told the Chipotle employee as i asked for the bathroom key.
And Jesus said no you cannot borrow my crowbar.
Carnage is the coolest symbiote. There's nothing more badass than taking someone with the mindset of the Joker and giving them Spider-Man's powers. But Spider-Man is my favorite hero so pretty much any symbiote or Spider character is going to be awesome.

Wtf who randomly asks a random comment on a random youtube video about comics, who does this?
everyone on RUclips comments section
Hector Huiza lol
I believe riot could rival venom and carnage
Please do Maximum Carnage I've always been interested in that story
First off great choice in name's and superhero's
Second I just asked too, that story is so much fun!

Neo Nightwing Go to a channel called ComicPOP! Theyre friends with rob and they did an hour discussion of the story
Just read it, man.
I don't see why fans hate this story I haven't read it,but seems okay to my perspective
I read tons of comics when I was younger and still to this day one of the most memorable was this series with Carnage. I can recall this comic almost panel to panel with it being well over a decade since I last read it. Great job Rob!
Mark Bagley's era behind the pencil in the Spider Man title was the best of the franchise's run imo.
I loved his art during this era, both in Amazing Spider-Man and New Warriors. Whenever I've seen his subsequent iterations of Spider-Man, I've been really disappointed. He should have stuck to what he was originally doing. Very few people could have followed Larsen and McFarlane, but at that time, Mark Bagley was the man.
Especially the early ultimate saga too
Carnage is probably so popular because hes probably the most Evil Marvel villain of them all, most of the Villains have a sad backstory and make you feel a bit Sympathetic like Magneto and The Brotherhood, Loki, Venom, Doc Ock, Green Goblin etc. Carnage however is evil from the outset cos he is a Serial Killer before the Symbiote bonds with him, an insane serial killer who shows no remorse, doesnt have a tragic backstory as of yet, and kills purely for his own entertainment, hes also very like The Joker who is argusbly the most popular Villain ever and in my opinion and many others the best, add in that hes extremely brutal for a Marvel Character like D.C. and Dark Jorse levels of violence and he looks awesome so all that is probably why hes so popular
That's what makes Maximum Carnage so great! Carnage gathered a family similar to Charles Manson. They were not a gang, they were his followers. And what he does to New York was a beyond The Avengers level threat. The Avenger, The X Men and The Fantastic four were called in. Carnage at that stage was an Omega level threat. Not from his powers, but from his philosophy.
Now he is the most powerful
But he was in the asylum that tortured him and coined him.
I have to disagree on the title of most evil seeing as there is literally Satan, Dormmamu, and Mephisto who seem to exist as actual beings of pure evil.
Cletus was literally modeled after the Joker, needless to say Carnage was immediately badass from the start
Venom is my favorite comic book character
Reminds me of Vegeta
The way Vegeta teams up with Goku but ultimately wants to kill Goku himself
He just wants to surpass goku at this point
Carnage= Savage for throwing that baby lol
I love old school Spiderman. I miss old school Spiderman.
Can you do the Marvel DC crossover where the Joker and Carnage team up against Spider-man and Batman
pretty please
My Favorite Anime is Shrek 3 the return of Corry I agree with your name
yessssss
ApplemanSR please sub to my channel
Eurgh, no. It's terrible. Batman beats Carnage with a kick. Carnage would have slaughtered all 3 as soon as he pleased.

ROB I WAS GOING TO ASK FOR A CARNAGE VIDEO! AWESOME!
Failed Assassin69 maybe there's a reason you have been ingored. or your just unlucky.
Failed Assassin69 , don't take it personally. He's a busy man.
I've been asking for a week or so now Rob is awesome
SHIROHIGE same!!
Failed Assassin69 you're obviously a pessimist...
Welp time to break out the snes n get down on some maximum carnage!!
I had it on Sega!😉
Adonis Richards Yep i had it on snes too.
I have the Nintendo version
Green Jelly
Adonis Richards emulatorrrrr
Maximum Carnage is still one of the most difficult games ever. The animated 90's series arc where they all meet up was great too. Also I cant remember who did this art but it is incredible.
In a future video, I'd like to hear and learn more about Mysterio, I never really read comics but i watched the 90's animated spider-man and i loved it. Always been a huge fan of spiderman, watched all the movies and played pretty much every video games, so i'm not a complete newbie but definetely not an expert, i love your videos man they teach me a lot more about the comics than the movies does.
This was my favorite time in Marvel!!!
Rob.
YOU ARE THE BEST !!!
@@GypsyBubba718 my favorite time too
When I started collecting comics, I knew I wanted to start with spidey and the first appearance of carnage issue 361 was my first purchase, amazing story.
The first time I saw Carnage was in one of the old Spider Man games on the Playstation. Oh man was that scary for a kid. It was one of those chase stages where you just couldn't fight back and all you could do was run for your life. It's the only thing I remember from that game and boy did it drive home just how dangerous Carnage is.
This made me realize how much thought is put into comics my god. Been watching through your videos and I'm slowly wanting to delve into them.
I remember owning the original collection of the Carnage comic and reading the writer's take on the story, he had mentioned at the time that they wanted to kill Venom off because they felt bored but like Rob mentioned Venom was too popular.
however they suggested ideas like the suit (venom) going to other hosts like the Lizard, Doc Ock, Flash Thompson and even JJ Jameson!
interesting how Marvel a decade later decided to use some of those ideas (Like giving the suit to Flash)
CLASSICS...I LOVE EM' !!! Good Stuff Rob!
I remember buying these as a kid. I have been waiting for Carnage and Venom to make a true debut. Spiderman: Maximum Carnage!
Man, this was my heyday of comic nerddom. I remember the issues leading up to Carnage in Amazing Spider-Man they showed the iconic #361 Bagley cover without the logo in the letters page (i think they did that cuz they had so much confidence in the story) me and my dad were like "whoa". I still have the issue where Cletus Kassady got infected in the issue where Spidey fought Cardiac. Great era for comics (Peter David's Hulk, Carnage and Venom, Infinity series, etc.) before they completely crapped the bed with the clone saga.
Cover all of the symbiots.
JusSick24 yes
agreed!
JusSick24 how many are there?
Dennis Igawa over 10, I believe.
TIL there are more than 2 :-|
I so loved the Maximum Carnage crossover series, I still have each of the comic books.
"So what I want to do here." best intro line. keep doing this.
Is still have these issues.
thank you for including them on your channel
Jon Baird lucky duck
Is still have these issues? That sentence doesn't make sense. what did you mean?
comics come in volumes and issues.
what the fuck did you think you were accomplishing by asking that question?
Should try more philosophy of comics Rob, because like you I love how character perceptions/philosophies add a lot to story arcs.
I had a second major in philosophy as an undergraduate. The best course of study and the critical thinking/logic courses I use to an extent every day. This is why videos, such as the one of "Integrity," are valuable additions to the videos made. This channel is truly excellent.
Man.. March of '91. Damn, I feel old.
I wonder if the original issues are worth something now?
They are.
I've never read a single comic, but I love watching these. Thanks man
OMG, Thank you! Great vid. You're making me pull out my old comics today. :)
You keep teasing us with Joker Fish. Just commit to it already.
I just love love love this channel...
"Aha! I'm going to fight you, Spider-Man!"
I got into your channel because of your in depth discussions about TWD, but you covering my absolute favorite villain? This is just way great!
Good stuff, Rob!
The relationship between Spider-Man & venom is like goku & vegeta where venom is the only one that can kill Spider-Man. I thought u was gonna reference that rob so I did it for u... I'll leave now
Venom vs spiderman was first.
Squirrel Master Venom also bonded to Spider-Man/Peter Parker before meeting Eddy Brock.
I don't watch Dragon ballz or whatever so can you explain that relationship
@@orangvii3633 vegeta is the only other character in the show besides new villains or opponents that can give goku a run for his money.
That makes no sense... Vegeta sees Goku as his rival and that's the basis of their relastionship. Venom hates Spider Man but Spider Man doesn't drive him to become stronger... they're already strong
🎧The best part of waking up is a Rob video in my cup🎧
Hey Rob! I just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I has having a crappy day today, and this video literally made my day! It was the only good thing hag came out of it. My favorite characters in literature are Venom and Carnage. I can't thank you enough for this video and making my day more bearable!
Just discovered your channel a few days ago. Ive been on a total binge. Thanks for posting your videos!
I always loved how Venom and Eddie Brock are always portrayed as two separate life forms. The use of the word "We" whenever Venom speaks is fantastic
This was awesome! Id lime to hear about Maximum Carnage.
glad i stumbled on this channel, my dad was a huge comic book collector when he was a kid, he collected mostly Marvel comics. he still has #1 editions of the amazing Spider Man comics. hes got the original #1 editions of a few classics , like the intro of green goblin to the series, dr octopus. he also loved collecting the X-Men comic books. I love ur thorough breakdowns on these comics.
Been watching your vids for a few weeks now rob, really dig it!
if I had a nickel for everytime he says quintessential
i know the story but i enjoy your vids ! Comic Nerds will reign supreme one day lol! nice bro
You honestly have an amazing channel, your channel is what keeps me checking youtube everyday. You have such great energy and you clearly love what your doing. Keep on keeping on Rob!
Been waiting for this for a long time! After the recent movie- sad story- i come back here and there it is! The movie was so different from the story i remember! thanks Rob!!
since we talking Spider-Man can u go over all the symbiotes
Rob you should also do the copyrighting fish story
Rob, mate... your getting better and better at your craft. Thank you for all your hard work...
Whoo! Sal! It took me a year to go check his channel out after I first heard you mention him, but I definitely don't regret it. You and Sal are my favorite comic book RUclipsrs, hands down!
do MAXIMUM Carnage
Rob I am getting sick and tired of having to ask for your outro and intro songs XD. You always have some amazing music playing the background and I can never find it.
Man, you are the best. Thx for sharing your videos. They are really great.
dude I love your work, as a fledgling comic book enthusiast your Vids help me get ahold of the the complex canon that I feel I need to understand to fully enjoy the universe. Thank you ! and venom is O.G
How about Ultimate Venom? Can we get an episode about him?
*in my negan voice* Hot-diggity-dog! ya see Rob knows what gets the clicks
Hella hulk vids
now Carnage coverage....he's out there getting....shit...done!
as for my fav symbiote Eddie Brock venom hands down
Rottz112 that's something Negan would say but in the comics he would add in at least 9 fucks
ApplemanSR yeah I was going back and forward between comic and TV Negan lol I kept it mild this time
Cletus!!
Rottz112 Shit?! WHAT THE SHIT! SHIT
Agreed, Eddie Brock is the best Venom.
Also he's my favourite Spiderman villain over all :3
I dont like comics myself, but my friends do. very useful content for book learning assistance, giving me good points of conversation! love a good block of text if thats how you want to do it. Keep up the good work.
Great vid Rob. i was totaly into this story line, when i was a kid. I still have all Venom and Carnage Comics back from those days.
Eddie was the real deal, it's sad what they did to him, all that Antivenom, Agent Venom BS and so on...
He (Eddie/Venom) is still one of my favorite heroes in Marvel! Yes, i see him as a hero, because beside the fact he wants to kill Spidey in the early days, he is only up for good. Maybe his methodes are a little bit rough, but oh well i like Ghostrider, Punisher too and they are heroes with a comon sense of Judgment ^^
So thank you again Rob for this video, it brought back so many good memories. ( I voted for a round up of the Maximum Carnage storyline too, it's a master piece ^^)
The s video is so awesome man
Well, minus all the thing Rob got wrong, right?
venom and carnage will always be my favorite. . excellent video 👍
The production of these videos are impeccable
I love your videos man! Great work!
good morning Rob! can you do a video about the xmen and avengers jets? which had better offensive and defensive capabilities? Which would win a dogfight?
Could you do a video on how Joker & Carnage worked together and Batman & Spider-Man had to work together to beat them
damn you!!! this era was my all time favorite of the Spider-Man series!!! please cover as much as possible!! great video and keep up the great work!
Love these videos!!! Keep them coming
dope, so dope, i loved Carnage when i was a young psychopath. he was always one of my favorite characters, i know if they use him Marvel would do an amazing job.
I want to hear more about Agent Venom. Especially during the Thunderbolts series.
Yeah.
Dido
Awesome video Rob, love this trio!
Always a solid video with excellent research!
Hey Rob will you do some Videos on Dr. Fate & Swamp Thing?
"save spider-man comics"
LIKE FUCK!
I love your Spider-Man videos Rob. Keep up the great work!
Why cant tom hardy play the human eddie brock and brock lesnier the wrestler play venom
Thanks Rob, love the late 80's/early 90's stuff!!!!
Cletus Cassidy reminds me more of Victor Zsazs than he does the Joker.
agreed
although keeping track of the bodies, seems too orderly for Carnage
3:30 But you can't deny his face in the top-right panel there is dead-on Joker visually. I almost thought it was Joker somehow in a Spiderman comic for a second, lol. DC x Marvel crossovers have existed in the past so I'm not completely crazy for thinking that for a second either :P
Eddie Brock venom is awesome. great video
marry Christmas rob you have made my work so much better with your videos so keep on keeping on
Really well done! 9.9/10 Great video, you skipped one or two small details but kudos on your style. I will subscribe!
Rob, you gotta do carnage obtaining the surf board of Silver surfer
He doesn't just get the surfboard. The Carnage symbiote temporarily bonds to the Silver Surfer for 2 issues.
I had that
Thumbs up for remasters
Pretty cool channel. Liked the video, man. That issue of ASM 380 was one of the first comics I bought as a kid. Takes me back!
More Venom and Carnage please. Two of the most interesting comic book characters ever. I promise to leave a like and a comment on any video featuring these two :P
Who else used to call carnage red venom
Aaron Mackellar me when I was little
Aaron Mackellar just u two.
Me when I was little
no i watched the show so i called him carnage ... his name
Me
Yo, you should do Kraven's Last Hunt
great video Rob I love that you're doing character explications again and personally I prefer Venom to any other symbiote.
best video in a long time..defiantly best marvel video in a while
Lmao the copyrighted fish keep coming up somehow
am I early!! im too early!! she's the key!!!
Rob you're doing a amazing job dude. I enjoy your content because you have help me learn more about marvel and DC. you're so cool bro. oh yeah more hulk stuff please.
I have this comic... read it 1000x, you still made it new to me *bows*
Can you do All Star Batman?
More Spider-Man
I love detailed explanations like this
Dude...you a straight up G...thanks for the silky smooth videos...
I was personally really disappointed with Maximum Carnage. It felt like I was reading the same two issues over and over again. Thematically, I love it, but it was poorly executed and went on for far too long with how repetitive the story was. Carnage is still cool at the end of the day.
Minimum Carnage was a bit better
True, but I feel like you can say that about allot of "villain fruition" story's. I always felt like Maximum Carnage had to happen to show people exactly the kind of guy he is. ...and to make the super nintendo game. That's why we haven't seen him running around trying to make teams any more.
If Marvel ever goes into direct to DVD animated movies like DC I hope they make Maximum Carnage, or this story. But shortens it a lot. I agree after 4-5 times of 4 vs 6 and then the fake defeats of Carnage you just want it to end. Have maybe 3 fights and then end it with maybe a end battle bettween Venom who wanna kill Spider-Man but something seperates them.
Venom and carnage both a variation of spidey.... but their stronger then him. Feels bad man.
Johnny Lin how many times in comics does only pure Strength matter in a fight
+Christopher Castro Worked for Hulk.
Yeah, but every super hero has those. A nemesis that's there double and another that's there opposite. Superman has Bizarro Superman and Lex Luthor, Batman has Cat-Woman and Joker, and Spidey has Venom and Kraven the Hunter. Of course these roles changes and there's multiple of each type, but I'd be surprised to see a hero who didn't have villain that was a variation of themselves.
Oh man! This was when I had a subscription to Amazing and I can't remember if the other Spiderman titles were going then but I was subscribed to those, as well, Spectacular, self titled, etc. I still have all those comics. So awesome. So many memories!
Rob you're never boring your videos are not boring they are very entertaining keep them coming keep it up
