2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
3/4 cups cocoa powder
1 teaspoon chocolate Flavour
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon coffee powder
1 Cup boiling hot water
Ma plz what's the measurement for buttermilk

Just made this cake now it’s so good ,I used the initial measurements and then half the measurements again to get 1 and half measurements and made a 12” pan , this is also my first time making an oil based cake and it came out just perfect

If you want to get the best results, you would need to stick to the recipe as given except the ingredient is stated as optional.

Thank you Vianana. Amen and you too. You can try but I can't say what results you would get especially as it's a light-textured cake. Haven't kept for long out of the fridge. Cakes are best consumed immediately or frozen.

Hello sis thank you, please how long is the shelf life or how do I preserve it.cos I tried using your recipe I took out one cup of white sugar and added a cup of brown sugar, before the third day the cake got bad.
Hi Faith, you welcome. You preserve by freezing. By doing that substitution you already altered the recipe. I usually advice it's best you practice with the recipe given so try and see the result you'd get with the original recipe.

1.It foams and spills over,what might be the cause?
2.Is butter-based better than oil-based?
3.It breaks easily hence making it difficult for me to trim.What can I do to avoid that?

Wow, foams? Never heard of this before.
I think you should check your ingredients and make sure that they're still okay for use.
They're both good if you get good recipes of both. It's also a thing of personal choice. Just that the butter based one is usually firmer in texture than the oil-based one.
You can allow it set and firm up or chill/freeze before trimming.

@@Exemplary832 okay, I can't tell in this case. For me moist as it is, by the second day it should be set or firm enough to handle. However, you can chill or freeze to make trimming easier if it happens again.
