    The most important lecture to teach us how to separate the body mind and it's afflictions and concentrate on pure consciousness which really we are. Very useful for stilling the mind and try to be your own real Self. This is the fundamental and useful knowledge our revered Sawmyji has taught.

    One of the common questions seems to be the difficulty in separating the Witness Consciousness from the activities/potential of the mind such as introspection. Peoples experience differ, and as a result, the answers may vary, but, it is the answer from those who have not realized the working of this process within themselves that causes a lot of confusion.
    The ability to experience the existence of the Witness separate from the Mind is extremely subtle.As a result, it is very difficult to draw any sharp demarcation lines between Mind and Witness Consciousness. At this level, the personal Consciousness is on the border of merging with the Absolute.
    HOW IT WORKS (JUST ONE EXPERIENCE)
    Have you ever been involved in solving a problem, especially a problem faced in the process of developing a solution such as a software, or a mathematical theorem?
    Sometimes there is a defined process towards solving the problem, but most times, one works outside of any previous pre-established guidelines because you are attempting to venture where no one has gone in the past. After you have saturated yourself with all available knowledge on the subject and exhausted all possible avenues(old and new), you start getting some information.
    Initially the information is incomplete, cluttered, and all over the place. The economical and elegant patterns that accompany ingenious and innovative solutions is missing, until, the moment in which you least expect it, the solution comes fully formed and in an instant. There seems to be no explanation of how you managed to download and discern such a massive amount of information instantly.
    THIS IS HOW IT WORKS WITH IDENTIFICATION OF WITNESS CONSCIOUSNESS SEPARATE FROM MIND
    You keep practicing and practicing. Many times your head will hurt and the urge to quit will be great. Even if you quit, depending on your level of evolution from previous lives, you won't be able to stay away from the practice for long. You will keep coming back to it. AND THEN ONE DAY, YOU WILL SEE THE TWO DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER AS DAY FROM NIGHT. Somehow, it just happens when there seems to be no order or sense to the whole process...but, it happens. That is just the beginning.
    There is no logical explanation how you arrived at the point from where you can see the difference between Mind and Consciousness, but it feels exactly how it felt when you arrived at a new discovery or at the solution for a problem. It seems each of us is engrained with the inherent capacity to realize whatever we set our minds to.
    MAJOR CHANGES YOU WILL NOTICE IN YOURSELF BEFORE THIS REALIZATION IS YOUR AUTOMATIC ENGAGEMENT IN SPIRITUAL PRACTICE. YOU WILL BE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME ENGAGED IN SPIRITUAL PURSUITS. YOU WON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE, EVEN WORK TO EARN A LIVELY-HOOD. YOU WILL BE LISTENING TO MANTRAS ALL NIGHT, EVEN WHILE ASLEEP. THERE WILL BE NO INCLINATION TO PURSUE ANY FORM OF ACTIVITY TOWARDS MATERIAL GAIN ETC. IT WILL HAPPEN FOR ALL.

    Thats why when we are in Deep sleep there is no sense of I (Reflected Consciousness), I guess this is due to delta state; where mind is technically switched off (Thats my assumption). As soon as mind experience the higher levels of frequency such as theta, alpha or beta; in other words dreams, partial waking state or waking state, mind shows the reflected consciousness and known as I.
    Am I thinking correctly????

    Why do we even exist?
    Why did this consciousness exist?
    Why i came here?
    Why lord created this place?
    If there is one bliss ... one pure consciousness ... there was no need to create us and then throw us here on this planet .
    It’s like we are given a task to realise ourselves.
    I just want to ask .. what was the need to do all this?
    BTW
    Thank you for the lecture swamiji.

    Swamiji,
    If we all are Brahman, which lord do you pray to at the beginning of each lesson, and why? In that case, what is the need for any prayer at all? How can one pray to oneself?

    • @kasbekn
      @kasbekn 7 лет назад

      Why do you pray at all? It's only to set your mind (and ultimately/automatically your conscious mind) on the course of dhyan and sadhana. Once this is the goal you accept, the element of 'God' which you mention falls by the side and becomes your own Brahman.

    • @anuroop.
      @anuroop. 6 лет назад

      Prayer... Means Puja... That which is born out of fulness or poorna.
      You pray out of contentment.
      Who is this you who prays... Remember you are still the body mind complex.

  • @MrAkashrintu

    Summary of the video as mentioned at 53:20.
    If I am the witness consciousness why does the body feel conscious?
    Answer: The witness consciousness is reflected by the mind as reflected consciousness. And the reflected consciousness in identification with the ego transmits that consciousness throughout the body up to the tips of our fingers, hence we feel awareness. So the body borrows its consciousness from the senses, senses borrow their consciousness from the mind and the mind borrows its consciousness from the reflected consciousness. And the reflected consciousness that is borrowed is a reflection of the pure consciousness which we really are
    The I sense is related to three things: the body, the reflected consciousness and to the real witness consciousness. The 'I' is related to the body because of its Karma. The 'I' related to the reflected consciousness is because it's natural. The 'I' related to the witness consciousness (Actual consciousness ) is because of an error. We can correct the three as: For the karma, it can be only corrected when the body dies i.e. when Karma is finished. The relationship between the I sense in the mind and pure consciousness can be snapped by the sword of knowledge. The 'I' sense and reflected consciousness cannot be corrected because they exist naturally.

    Out of all the karma, a part of it is used to generate the present body which gives us a series of experiences ( good and bad) in this life. When that is finished, this body dies. After that " i " the ego sense with the mind goes on to the next body with the next set of karma . When the karma is finished, the body will die. Nobody can prevent it.

    What's the difference between Brahman and shiva?

  • @sowcha
    @sowcha 8 лет назад +2

    Swamiji, Pranam. Isn't consciousness like the electric charge that runs thro' our body? May be we can call it life force.But there must be a part in the mind which is the chief commander of the body and mind. When a person goes into a coma, the commander in him is damaged or dead. He is alive, because the life force is running. Why I am saying this is, I don't feel like the witness, but like the chief commander of the body and mind. Is this what you call 'the reflection of the witness in mind'?

    • @MidiwaveProductions
      @MidiwaveProductions 7 лет назад +4

      Hi Sowdhamini.
      1. Buddhi --- That which you refer to as the chief commander is the Buddhi (the decision making part (intellect); the ability to discern, judge, comprehend, understand).
      2. Sakshi --- The witness (sakshi) is Consciousness that witnesses the world, thoughts, words and deeds but does not get affected or involved. Sakshi is beyond time, space.
      The more you identify as the witness the more you will be observing the buddhi "in action", while you (Consciousness) are yourself actionless.
      Nisargadatta: Yes, l appear to hear and see and talk and act, but to me it just happens, as to you digestion or perspiration happens. The body-mind machine looks after it, but leaves me out of it. Just as you do not need to worry about growing hair, so I need not worry about words and actions. They just happen and leave me unconcerned, for in my world nothing ever goes wrong.
      Kind regards.
