Nice work! Great profile. We had some flooding here in the mountains and the Watauga River was well over the bridge on my way home, had to take the back roads. Praying that chemo doesn’t kick your butt to hard , take care .
..You wouldn't have to say much on your videos. i just like watching you move metal the way you do.But i'm glad you do. Nice looking blade sir. All the Best...
Awesome Robert . I would like to know how hot did you get the blade the steel look like it moved easy for you did you get it yellow hot or red hot to move it. Also take care of yourself.
To really move the steel a bright orange, almost yellow. Red when I’m just planishing out hammer marks. Don’t forge 1095 in the black. I’ve found that leads to more cracks. Also, go directly from quench to temper with 1095.
@@SouthernForge you’re very welcome. There’s no other reasonable way to keep a carbon steel blade rust free. My blades are even kind of oily when I ship them, I just let the customer know what to expect and why. I
Great work like always! Prayers on your procedure!

Is there something you do to keep your blades from rusting
After finishing everything up they need to be oiled. Just a nice thin coat of oil wiped on usually does the trick.
@@serendipityforge333 thank you I couldn’t find a answer nowhere
