Those birds are really dirty and they splash a lot of the water out of the pan. You will need to change the water and flush the pan every two or three days. Have you made a plan for doing that? You have a nice setup and I think it is going to be a chore taking it apart, cleaning and refilling. :-)

For sure, it is very difficult to balance shade, highlight, contrast, vibrance, and saturation...so difficult to pull the feather detail in post processing! Agreed!

Man those golden finches are so bright yellow hard for the sensor to get all the color in.
