I copped my 440I GC in April...traded in my 335IS (hated to lose that car) and I absolutely love this car!! For my lifestyle now, it has everything I want in a car. The 440I has enough room, it's sporty, and has that ummf under the hood when you want to open up and get somewhere fasssst!!
I feel your pain , I sold my M/T 335i shortly after buying my 440i and there is nothing like the feeling and sound of a healthy N54 at full throttle( when misfires are not present of course …)! BUT.. After driving the GC I really appreciated the extra space and of course the extra doors ! I do not miss having to get out of the car to let passengers in one bit… and like you said the B58 is amazing when it comes to reliability and a equally powerful drivetrain after tuning! Enjoy it !!
If I had to own a B58 I’d choose the F36 over any other platform before I move on to an S5x platform. I love the gran coupes and the sportback style to it, there’s nothing like it
Yes sir I got one in carbon blk had it covered o protective film then ceramic coated the shine is amazing love this car my kids are grown and out the house time for dad again 😂
@@Sliderz_Official Just make sure your foot goes straight in and back not side to side like my dumbass was doing and thought it was messed up lol. I have the same car but black on black and love it.
The b58 doesn’t need a charge pipe and doesn’t need an intake all it does is heat soak, all it need is a drop in filter and a catless DP for a tune that’s all it needs, XHP transmission tune is a must on the ZF , without it you’ll hit torque limitations if you tune the engine. Good luck
You’d call it a 4 door coupe because its body lines puts it in the “coupe” category, it’s something the Germans started doing a while back with the Porsche Panamera. At least that’s the car that started the trend in my opinion, it’s a distinct look, some people will tell you no such thing as 4 door coupes, but there definitely is, as long as it follows the design language of a coupe it’s a coupe.
The B58 engine is a masterpiece 👌. Power all through the rev range and also fantastic fuel economy figures , as an experiment i got 50 mpg at 70 mph in comfort mode on the highway , town driving 27 mpg even in sport mode . I have the 2 door coupe which is my daily . Mine is rear wheel drive , good tyres are a must especially when it rains , it can interesting otherwise 😉 .
Sick! I switched from a Mercedes E350 to this. This car is gorgeous, it has that classic BMW look to it. My favorite thing about this car is the MPPSK, sounds absolutely ridiculous with it 💥
@@Sliderz_Official just order it from BMW and a dealer most likely can install it too. Mine was a lease so MPPSK exhaust/kit came with it. So many pops and bangs, backfires it literally sounds like a V8. Any kind of warranty is always good.
Great Question! Essentially yes but at the same time no. BMW’s 3 series coupes are now todays 4 series. The 3 series come as sedans and the 4 series come as coupes. BMW Offers the 4 door coupe” option as the gran coupe for people who can not settle for the 2 doors but also want the more luxurious but sporty look. BMW also offer Gran coupes for 2,4,6 and 8 series which are originally 2 door production cars. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Actually the 4 series and the 3 series are totally different cars, the platform is different, the 4 series is wider has more grip, lower center of gravity aswell. There are many differences.
Hi Sliderz, I also love the 4 series very much, it looks so cool and a bit different from the boring 3 series, also the GC version provides enough space for a family car. But now my budget is only enough for those 428i using N20(I think I should not buy bmw in too bad condition or too high miles). I dont need much HP but N20 seems not to have a good reputation, do you reconmand that I raise my budget for a B58 OR B48 ? Or it doesn`t matter much. Also I want to hear your comments between B48 and B58. Thanks!
Hey! I’m glad you have done your research! I cannot talk down too much on the N20 because it is an impressive platform and have proven very capable 2.0 engines BUT the VERY common timing chain failure is almost too common (big turn off) and predicted to fail around 100k or even earlier…. N20 cars produced before 2015 are more prone to failure so if you do decide to get one I would 1st- make sure production date is after 2015 (bmw “fixed”) 2nd-inquire on repair history to make sure timing chain was already replaced or 3- get a 430i /B48 because it has proven more reliable/ a bit quicker than N20 IF the cost is not a problem😅 . The B48 has very similar engine specs to the B58 but still has failed to match the B58 (bulletproof) reliability . BMW has mastered inline 6 engines (not so much 4 cylinders) so I would recommend anyone to try to get a i-6 and never look back ! The 435i/ N55 is less expensive than the b58 /440i and I would take it over n20 all day ! I hope this helps !
@@Sliderz_Official thanks so much for your help. Basically B58>B48≈N55>N20. And do you thinks buying a B58/48/N55 over 80k is a good idea? For the E90s I know the turbo will make things crack faster so better get a non-trubo engine for a car over 80k, I`m not sure how much it has improved in B58 version. Of course other minor issues will apply but that`s fine, after all it`s a BMW.
@@Meph1s7o For the right price , I would ! When buying a used BMW you want to make sure that the car is stock / unmodified so you know it hasn’t been abused in excess. Also keep in mind the costs of maintenance that will be have to be done since after 80k things will start to fail little by little. As long as the engine is sound everything else can be replaced. When looking at BMW’s previous high output inline 6 turbo engine’s such as the infamous (but powerful) N54 in the 335i and the more reliable but underpowered N55 the B58 (440i engine ) is a clear successor!
