I had a similar horrible experience in 2024... I quit my phd dream, got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I am still recovering from the mental scars and physical problems.... Glad to come across your channel😊...
Thank you for the shoutout! :) (1) For PhD positions, you mentioned your keen interest in integrating ML to contribute to physics/astrophysics research. Are there any specific areas in physics/astrophysics that you would like to work in, or are your interests in physics broad? For example, I would only seriously consider a PhD position for myself only if it allowed me to meaningfully use ML in my astrophysics sub-fields of interest (stellar astrophysics, exoplanets). (2) For industry positions, besides consulting, is your main goal targeting roles that allow you to apply your technical expertise in machine learning and still keep connected to physics? I ask because again, I am going through a very similar experience at the moment. Nevertheless, you are navigating all this thoughtfully and proactively - I am sure your hard work will pay off soon!
Thank you for helping me out :) 1) Trying to keep an open mind and consider ML applied to a broad range of physics problems. 2) Yes main goal is to target positions where I can use my ML & data science skills. Thank you!
Hi, I came across your channel. I am also currently doing a PhD in the Netherlands and considering quitting it as I have been going through the same experiences you went through. I would really like to meet you in person, do you live in Utrecht?
Yes that’s what I mean and since non-europeans typically require to have their visa sponsored by the company that gives an advantage to those of us with an EU passport
@@stringsandtheory9750 Can't argue with you on that point 🙂. I was about to look for a job in the EU a year back but dropped the idea since it's difficult to find a company that's ready to sponsor.
God told you something 😂, better join phd back , you can do these things after phd or along with phd ❤🎉 Digree is very important, you will need digree in your whole life 🎉 plese do phd first, Physics PHD will pay you, it will be impossible to do it again in future 😢
@stringsandtheory9750 It's about Time, You can give 2-3 years in this age and Get the best academic digree accepted in entire world, I missed many opportunities to do post graduation, and other PHD and now I regret it most, The salary of PHD is 5 times more than a teacher in My country, at end we have to work in every job but after PHD there is no work only Money, and after PHD we can get job wherever whenever ee want

Sorry to hear but hope you’re doing better!🙏
The video quality is amazing! You look great and seem so genuine. I believe you'll gain more subscribers very soon!
Ah thank you🫶When I posted it I thought that it wasn’t so great so I’m Happy someone liked it😅
I am the 601th viewer 😅. Hi. Hope things started well in 2025
Thank you! This video hasn’t gotten that many views so I’m glad☺️

Thanks I wish you the same!🙏
What are your goals for 2025? :)
1. developing consistency in my routine, and 2. step out of my comfort zone by volunteering in more outreach events at my uni!
Getting married if I meet someone / good girl
@@jarareng That sounds great!
@@girmaa5480 Good luck!

Hi sorry to hear that! I don’t live in Utrecht but you can contact me at: stringsandtheory@gmail.com and we can organize a zoom call or something!
@@stringsandtheory9750 I sent you the email. Please also check your spam folder as it might have ended up there.
You are a role model...where are you from?
Thank you I don’t feel like a role model😅 I’m from Scandinavia!
@@stringsandtheory9750 You live in heaven...sure you are an angel...
@@stringsandtheory9750 Kudos to your perseverance and hardwork...
Great goals for 2025, do you live in the USA?
Thanks! No I live in the Netherlands :)
Can i see your research/thesis paper
When (if) it's finished yes!
@stringsandtheory9750 I am CS student currently thinking about my thesis for Master's
I didn't do my thesis in CS, I did it in theoretical physics so I think it's better if you contact older students from your program 👍
When you talk about privilege, do you mean that people of color or non-European individuals face more discrimination comparatively?
Yes that’s what I mean and since non-europeans typically require to have their visa sponsored by the company that gives an advantage to those of us with an EU passport

Lol I'm not sure that's true often I think it's the people without a PhD who gets paid the most😅
