- Lypsinka performs at The Tiffany Theatre, Sunset Strip, Los Angeles, CA, Summer 2001, in "Lypsinka! The Boxed Set," winner of the LA Weekly Best Solo Performance Award, LA Drama Critics Award for Best Sound and Helen Hayes Award (Washington, DC) for Outstanding Non-Regional Production. The LA Times says, "Lypsinka is a geyser of glamour."
In all my years, I've never seen a performer who matches Lypsinka. Impeccable.
Morrissey bought me here! Always loved this part of his preshow.
These are all the references I could catch:
Song - "Gorgeous" by Barbara Harris in the Apple Tree (1966)
"I want my father" - Sandra Dee in A Summer Place (1959)
"This is no dream" - Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby (1968)
"Do you know that the germs" - Catherine Gaffigan in Sisters (1972)
"How wretched, wretched, wretched I am" - Maria Callas in Medea (1969)
"Call me up" - Olivia de Havilland in Lady in a Cage (1964)
"I can't go on with the scene" - Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard (1950)
"Nobody cares if I live or die" - Patty Duke in Valley of the Dolls (1967)
"Nobody laughs at me" - Natalie Wood in Gypsy (1962)
Not Maria Callas, not 1969.
TheLypsinka1 Zoe Caldwell. Medea still. 1982 or 3?
@@TheLypsinka1 i just noticed this! honored to be corrected 👑
@@williambreazeale Nope.
Judith Anderson, Medea, 1959??
Not only is Lypsinka and amazing actress, but she is able to be an outrageous caricature of an old Hollywood actress and still make the performance completely believable.
This is absolutely brilliant
It'sAGundam brought me here. Great performance!
Same
I've never seen Lypsinka perform before. This is absolutely fantastic.
2:27 When ItsAGundam is about to do an ad break.
Itsagundam is why I'm here
I’m surprised so little people came here from It’sAGundam
This is my favorite Lypsinka performance ever
RuPaul mentioned Lypsinka this week on Drag Race and I had to come see what the fuss was about. Loved it!

Wow! Gloria Swanson,Natalie Wood.. She ‘s a star!
The face,clothes,movements..etc.She transitions from one person to the next seamlessly!
Actress, impressionist, and insanity as a drag performer!
I saw him/ her in person just doing Joan Crawford, and it was brilliant! Phone rings and she zigzagged from one persona to another!
Dazzling..
She is one of a kind!
3:51 - 4:08 it appears at Valley of the Dolls (1967)
I know the penultimate clip is Natalie Wood in Gypsy, the virtuosity on display here is dazzling in it's brilliance.

Dear Lypsinka: Please come to Toronto. Thank you.
Wow!
Shout out to the spotlight operator
John, you are astounding - when are you getting your ass back on the stage? xo
Legitimately good performance. Bizarre and fuckin' weird, but still good.
YYAAASSSSS
this IS fun :-)))
Is there a full recording of this performance?
Found it;) Gorgeous from the apple tree. Gotta love google
Sasha Velour’s real drag mother but with more talent and humility.
Sasha Velour has humility. What are you talking about? Are you just a bitter old gay?
Maybe they’re just comparing Sasha’s glamour and "sleek"-ness with the showiness of Lypsinka, and calling it humility… see, comparisons are no good!
Que perfeito caralho
Whats the name of the first song??? i love it!!!!!!!!
It's called Gorgeous from the musical The Apple
Tree
He surely cries out a lot...
Anyone know where the "ow ow f.ck me ow ow ow f.ck me" line comes from? is it a movie? Which actress said this.
A recording called the black angel. I used to have a copy on cassette
@ghostarm9827 when you say recording, was it the 1946 Film Black Angel
@@CrystalCarrington a 70's performance recording. I've been trying to find it again since I lost the cassette in a move. She calls herself the black angel at the end. It's wonderfully vulgar, especially the bicycle part.
Куда я попал?
OMG ♡
Y'got somethin' against drag queens, buster?
Ok? I don’t see the appeal
'Er arms are more masculine than mine. Lypsinka is too much of a man.
