I discuss overall ownership experience over the course of nearly 3 years and 20,000 mile including 2 major things to consider for buying used. Do I buyout the lease or move to something different?

I just bought my Durango RT 5.7 2023 hemi orange package. I do love it; engine note is great, primarily used as a commuter. I live in canada where our gas prices are astronomical..... I personally find the gas mileage to be on par with what i expect from a 5000lbs 5.7L V8 hemi. That engine sound is just intoxicating. But i can see why it wouldnt be for everyone. Goodluck my man

Holy crap brother - 2 years!!!! I'm just glad you're back and all seems to be good! I solved the brake dust issue on my 2021 TnG with installing dimpled & slotted ceramic brakes for all 4 corners - very reasonable from Brake Performance. I picked up my 21 TnG for $53k - it's a lease but I'm going to buy it at lease end in 2 months. I'm installing a Whipple 3.0 and AFE shorty headers and I have some other bolt-ons I'll be at 600 HP at crank EASY. The stock SRT 392 is only 475 HP crank and the SRT would've cost me A LOT more than the total of my entire investment: $53k + $12K (Whipple & Headers). I'll have a lot more HP than a 392 and have spent a lot less. I love this Durango Tow n Go! Did you finish the addition on your house?

Hey man. All is good here. Just life getting in the way with little ones and work. Writing this from my addition :) yes. One day I’ll post the full saga… good and bad.
TnG with a whipple will be bonkers! Best of luck with it! Sitting here a few months removed from the Durango, honestly I still think we made the right decision for our current needs, but there are certainly things I miss about it. Dodge really punched above their weight class with this platform in terms of function, refinement and infotainment usability.

The tire thing happened when I owned my tow n go. Camber issue and they were not properly aligned from factory. I eventually traded mine in for an SRT 🤷🏽‍♀️ but Tow n go exhaust sounded better lol 😂

how about that. Good to know it wasn't just me! I know the 5.7's sound better with the SRT exhaust then the SRT's do! Hope your enjoying the upgrade.

Nice the missus has a 23 tow ans go AWD we got this past winter
She loves it. I use my Truck to do most of the towing. Only issues weve had have been the same minor ones you have had car play etc. I did install a throttle control for her and it makes quite a difference, no bottem end throttle lag now. 5.8 0-60 on 87 octane She wants me to get a PCM and controller for her. Lol. She doesn't need it Talking with my son who's a Dodge tech to make sure nothing voice the warranty.

I’m planning on getting a non run flat set next and those should last longer than 20,000 miles from what I’ve heard they’re good for 40-45000 and also I plan on changing these pads when they wear out to some power stops I hear those negate the dust a lot and help out a ton so that fixes your number 1 issue there. Find a local shop and have em install pads and tires together

Yeah that brake dust was killer. Wheels look so good but only stay shiny for like 2 days after a wash. Good luck with the new tires!

Did you ever rotate the tires??? Would appear you didn't, ever.

Tahoes are good..Good review..I find the gas in my 23 TnG pretty good.. Highway mileage think is good..Hating the 9 speaker Alpine as sounds like crap and think I'll have to go outside of Dodge to get better sound

your right about the Alpine system. Quite weak. I noticed it vs my 2018 Durango with the "Beats" system which was better. Made worse by the louder cabin noise from the exhaust. I didn't mind though.

Mileage is a bummer. My Grand Cherokee sits at 20-21mpg suburban. :/

You ever heard of rotating your tires lol

    • @therivierarecord2596
      @therivierarecord2596  3 месяца назад

@@bassdaddy1730 I suppose that’s a fair point, and something I would encourage all owners here to consider. Treating this spec (tire compound + performance alignment + heavy weight) as more of a sports car maintenance vs typical 3 row family hauler in terms of service best practices. These are directional tires too, so not something you can DIY in your driveway.
Certainly wasn’t something my local dealer ever recommended when I took it in for the yearly inspection and oil change either.

I just traded my 21 RT tow n go a couple months ago for a 21 BMW X4M Comp and I'm beyond happier! Gas mileage for amount of horsepower innthe Durango just doesn't make sense.

Doesn’t help my wife loves remote start for 10 minutes only to have a 10 minute drive. But yeah, it’s definitely a weak point for this vehicle.
