Thanks for your well-explained tutorial. I can't get the hook cover plate back into the correct position - please help. My Janome is a brand new HD3000BE.
Make sure the two little plastic tabs on the left side of the cover are under the edge of the needle plate and not on top. The right side should then just snap easily in.
There is a screw on the left side of the head. Remove it and pull off the head cover, you will see the lightbulb. We would be happy to ship you one if you still need it. Give us a call at (503) 254-7317 Mon-Sat 10 am to 5pm PST

Can I do free motion stitching on Janome HD300
Yes, but take it slow, and use a quilting needle or a microtex needle, size 80/12.
