I bought my Peugeot 106 Quicksilver in November of 2000... still own it, and I absolutely love it. It has 217000 something km, driven by me, myself and I (it's my car). No problems at all. Manual sun roof... good, the less it has the better it is. I did change the radio and the speakers after a few years and it's missing the seatbelt guides that broke off. The design, I think, is not that outdated and on the clock it still does 180Kph (if I'm feeling brave). Fun little car. Greetings from Portugal.
@@RokyRode It's a honest little car. And to tell you the truth, I if I sold it, I would hate to see it being driven by someone else, with scratches and dents, when I took the time to take good care of it.
Loved this video mate. That must be one of the last qs' ever made on that plate. Mine is on a 52 plate. On 38.5k. Recent head gasket fix. But so much fun to drive. And as you say. A car with character. I'm happy to take mine out on Sunny days atm, garage stored. Much cheaper to run than the GTI's. And they will only have you on the straights 😂😂
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. 38.5K is impressive and I can see why you keep yours garaged and only go out on sunny days. I've thought about doing the same but she's on 142k and I'd miss having her as a daily driver. Besides, the mini occupies my garage at the moment. Thanks for watching.
the thing is you can easily change the head unit with a modern one easily, which cannot be said for modern cars with the integrated screens. single/double din, bluetooth dash cam reverse cam, android auto, make your pick! :)
Its a shame they dont make cars like this no more simple fun easy to fix not much of systems getting in the way my first car was 106 1.5 D zest 2 always wanted a quicksilver would have one over a supercar if i had the choice
Too True. Simple motoring but not so old that they keep breaking every 5 minutes, just simple, no choke etc. 106's are still out there, getting rarer now though especially the Quiksilver, most have been scrapped.

Greetings. You've had your Quiksilver for 24 years. That's impressive. I'm going to be starting on her head gasket this week.

That car is so clean dude
Thanks mate. Not bad considering she does need some bodywork doing.

Excellent video, just picked up my 1996 106 xnd. No problems so far, but it’s only been a week 😬
Plenty of time yet then 🤣
I'd love a phase 1.
My Quiksilver has her MOT coming up 🤞
I had one. S788mep. Great car.
Yep. Great little car. they're still out there and occasionally come up for sale.
Love this honest review, already subscribed to your channel!
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Great little cars but you have to keep the rust at bay.
Went to pugfest last year as right on my door step! But was in deven as you know this year, will go to pug/fest next year now!
Pretty sure I remember you. We spoke about the GTI engine swap you did? and you have a black GTI spoiler 👍
Great review 👌🏾
I have It's sister car the Saxo Furio, it's great fun when she comes out
Love them too. There's something about little French hatchbacks with body kits.
@@RokyRode definitely, I have a few cars but currently daily a 106 1.1 and it always puts a smile on my face, loving your channel
I still use a 106 Zest for every day driver since 2019 would not swap for anything.

Yes. This era of car were great for that sort of thing. I kept mine Original of course :-)
Can I be captain slow hahaha

Ayy this is torquay
Indeed it is. Probably not best keeping a 106 by the coast. Have to keep a close eye out for rot.
