Just so you're aware, youtube has put a midroll ad on this video, right at the most emotional point! I'd happily watch like 10 ads to see this though! Thought I'd bring it to your attention! :)
I love this song too much, when I first heard it my tears wanted to shoot out of my eyes. I don't have friends who like the same music as me, it is good to know that there are still many people who have the ability to empathize with this song, I think this song is one of Damien's masterpieces and I am happy to have listened to it . Music is such a beautiful world. 🖤🎵
As someone who is into rap, RnB, and the newer melodic rap, Brooklyn drill, and other genres, over and over again I find myself just listening to this song to zone out and get away from life and for 10 minutes live through the music and its perfect layering of all the different parts, it's truly beautiful
It’s been three years and yet here I am still moved to tears when I watch this. I saw him for the first time in concert last night after wanting to see him for decades.
I would think I died of a heartattack during the festival and these were the angels singing to welcome me in heaven... Absolutely stunning performance!
I don't know what I love more: ▪the fact that this happened ▪the fact that this was Damien Rice's idea OR ▪the fact that Damien Rice is still creating music. I miss him. Where has he been?
Here on my monthly check-in. Mind still blown. I remember the first time I heard/saw the Volcano video on VH1. After hearing the first few notes, I stopped whatever it was I was doing in the kitchen. I hurried to the tv. I was hypnotised. I bought the O album that week. This, coming from a primarily hip-hop, r&b, Metal listener. This opened so mamy doors.
Been following Damien Rice for more than a decade. Got several of his CDs and always have 3-4 of his songs in my portable playlist. Amazing story about his visit to Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar (Burma, search her story), Peace Nobel Prize, while she was in house arrest. A song came after that visit, called "Unplayed Piano". Truly awesome guy and artist.
I've met the girl with the short hair yesterday at the house concert recorded by the blogotheque . When he started singing it takes a lot to know a man , she started to sob and had to step back . After the show I've asked her if she was ok, she told me that the day of the house gig, blogotheque just uploaded the video from Berlin and it brought too much emotions . I'm so happy for her in a way. Whoever you are , girl, I have a picture of you staring at Damien during yesterday's event
I love the way they all react - girl with long hair smiling, an unconscious reaction when you're thrown in such beauty, but you can see how it hits her, girl with short hair just constantly in awe, and the guy trying to stay composed, but feeling it deep down. Amazing. If any of you see this I would love to know how you felt being there :D
Tis called Music. And it's everywhere already.. just listen to the sound of your heartbeat.. the sounds of your conscious thought..there lies it..the idea of music.
I have never experienced anything more emotional than this. It's as if I was there and could sense every vibration and every breath. I cry every single time I watch this, especially at the end when silence hits and the last echo fades. Whoever came up with this incredible idea is a genius. What a gift, my god. I would have cried my heart out in that chair. There are no words for me to express how much I appreciate Damien Rice and his talent. And this collaboration with Cantus Domus was just perfection. Thank you @La Blogothèque for allowing us viewers to be part of this almost otherworldly experience.
I imagine you will not see this, but I SO agree with your comment, and wanted to note for you that it was Damien himself who created this whole series concept! So this here is him being one of many artists carrying out the vision that was his. Hope you are well!
@@grace_segars I have just seen your comment and wanted to thank you for letting me know who the genius was behind this incredible concept, and Damien Rice being that genius fits in the picture perfectly. You are very kind for sending this message, thank you! I am well, certainly much more so than a lot people directly affected by war and destruction but absolutely sad and pessimistic about the world and where our civilisation is heading in general. These are sad times and art and music like Damien Rice's are my only solace under these depressing circumstances. But I am getting by. And I do hope you are well too!
I have followed Damien for many years. I remember thinking during his hiatus if we could just get he and Lisa back in the same room to perform for all our leaders, world peace would be the only logical outcome from such magnificence. After seeing this, it is his brilliance and humility that make world peace attainable, nothing against Lisa. His ability to sing to the soul accompanied by these angelic voices is something to behold, it demands a visceral response. I love when artists re-emerge with more depth and clarity.
I would've imploded, then quickly dissolved into my own existence then lastly blown in the wind with the few crumbs of me that remained. What an experience. (Can you tell I love Damien?)
You know you connect to music in a way many people do not when it hits you so hard, you get emotional. Music is an necessity for the world in way that resonates beyond human comprehension.
I would have started crying the minute I saw Damien honestly I'm having shivers down my spine right now and crying just from seeing this on the phone I don't know if I would've still been alive if I were there personally

Amazing and must be listened to on headphones. Thanks to all for this and also to sound engineer for fantastic recording. I bet the "kidnapped" after the performance left the room and found a quiet space and just literally broke down and cried - it would have been me. Holding it together while cameras were on but after - would have had a breakdown. Hard to take so much perfection. Once in lifetime experience, I'm sure.
Minha terapia.
The chills man, just hearing it in my cheap headphones, and still send shivers down my spine, I can't even imagine how it would feel to be there, just magical.
I love the reactions you managed to capture. The long haired girl who seemed simply amazed and in awe, the short haired girl who seemed to break out in tears almost immediately and looked like she was holding it back the whole time, the stoic man who looked like he was likewise barely keeping his stoic face who looked totally stunned by the end. I can only imagine how astonishing it would have felt not just emotionally but physically to be surrounded by all those voices in the nice reverb of that room. I want to move to Europe if only to one day be able to wander into one of you brilliant performance concepts.
I am touched... The music is beautiful and the expression on the face of the girl with the longer hair makes me so happy and makes me cry at the same time.
To be moved to tears is one thing, to hear something so beautiful it changes the course of my day is another. Rarely a sound alters me this way. Damien, and all, ... incredible, beautiful, ... people please help there are not the words ....
Oh my God! I don't know what I'd be able to do if I were presented with something like that. It would be an honor watch Damien Rice so close to me and singing to me. Wow!! I love you Damien!
This is so much. Extraordinary. I feel blessed as though i having just been the person privated serenaded. Awesome idea, brilliantly executed by huge talents. And what a song. Thank you to the Art makers xx

My heart would explode if this happened to me! I would cry out all the water in my body! The release of love, pain and life...through words, vibrations and sounds. WOW!!!
Shivers just kept running throughout the body. I can't tell if it was the music, the eyes, the harmonies or simply the tears. Or, the way I felt through the day, somehow this video connected to that. Regardless, it's beautiful, just like all other Damien Rice creations.

same sister same🥲
It’s been three years and yet here I am still moved to tears when I watch this. I saw him for the first time in concert last night after wanting to see him for decades.
Here with you united by extraordinary humans cresting beautiful music. Isn't it wonderful 💛
Now and then I need to listen to this and remind to myself that beauty still exists
Exactly why I’m here……❤
The synchronization, the highs, the lows, the eruption of Damien's voice in the middle of such a beautiful apocalypse. This. This is truly music
Well said Miguel.
"it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world"
Belhedi , I love so much how you react here. I’m feeling likewise.
I can't believe how composed those people are - I would have straight up started bawling in like 30 seconds
I know right?
BKMPictures same...
Actually - we all kinda did ;)
i just cried watching it xD
What an experience! It must of been amazing! I had tears watching it from my phone!
This is a plead, a prayer, a blessing, a worshipping, and an offering.

Where has he been?
In Iceland, lives not to far a away from me :D

@@agustvalsson8572 hi, can you tell me approximately which area is it?
i wish i was the one to be kidnapped. Could't hold my tears at first; and can't stop listening this version over and over.
Since I saw this video, I need to come back once a month (at least) This is a TREASURE!
what a perfect moment for someone
Well, you are a Damien's fan too! Glad to see your comment in this video.
Here on my monthly check-in. Mind still blown.
I remember the first time I heard/saw the Volcano video on VH1. After hearing the first few notes, I stopped whatever it was I was doing in the kitchen. I hurried to the tv. I was hypnotised. To Damien, Cantus Domus and La Blogothèque - Thank you. This is beyond beautiful. My heart is full.
Beyond beautiful....love, LIFE...Living .....is ...beautiful when we get out of the way.....
Damien Rice came out from Middle Age and brought the paradise with him. ❤
Yeah but no correlation inbetween middle age and paradise I guess
It's so warm, it's like wrapping yourself in a blanket
What religion is this. Sign me up.
Me too. Actually sacrifice me at the altar of this religion.
Tis called Music.
And it's everywhere already.. just listen to the sound of your heartbeat.. the sounds of your conscious thought..there lies it..the idea of music.
🤣
Looks like a cult
This is the religion called unconditional love. It's universal. No need to join just be open.
And he kneels in front of the person... Amazing! What could anyone say after such a beautiful moment?
Nothing but cry..
I would have wanted to hug Damien in silence.
Damian looks like he spent an a whole week locked away in an old pub.
Stellar performance. I've been playing this over and over....
Damien Rice was one of my very first musical loves and he has been singing to my soul for so many years. I adore him
Only 10 seconds of this, and I would be crying.

This was magic. His divine voice!! "Based on an idea by Damien Rice" what more to be said for him(?)! Make us a gift Damien ...A new record.
Stella Tmv he said he is writing and recording last week
Dawn Dees seriously? This is truly a gift and it first came from you! At last, something to wait for, in the music field. Thank U.
Damien is not from this world.. He's the god of all the emotions. Pls COME back 2 Belgium!
This is just unreal, I've watched this maybe 30 times as far and I still have chills!
For me, the most beautiful song on RUclips. This version is so intense. I wish i was there. Unforgettable for those people who were chosen. Thank you
I've heard this song and my life changed. Nothing has ever touched me so much.

How these people don't just lose it is beyond me, this is such a beautiful performance.
This video couldn't have been more perfect.
Thanks Damien Rice for creating this song.
How this Version doesn’t have 10 million views is confusing!! My gracious so amazing and flowing , Thank U , DR an C. And voices of ethereal!!
Damien Rice is a god of music.
It's been 3 weeks since I started looking in the dictionary for a word to describe how beautiful this is and I still haven't found...

Damien, you're killing me! Next album already, cmon!
I cant't believe just 160,000 people watched this! The most touching video I saw in years, thank you!

This is just breathtaking! Impossible to describe it in words! Just feel it down to your core! 😢❤
I’m going through a break up and needed the release from a cry. Knew this song would do it in the best way. Damien Rice is an Angel.
This is so immensely beautiful that I've been listening to it since it was uploaded here 6 years ago.
To be moved to tears is one thing, to hear something so beautiful it changes the course of my day is another. Rarely a sound alters me this way.

This is the most beautiful thing I ever listened. I'm overwhelmed. Unsettling.
It takes alot to understand why anyone would thumbs down this fantastically soul stirring performance...
Hard to understand, isn't it? But the longer one lives, the more curious life (and people) appear to be.

Shivers just kept running throughout the body. I can't tell if it was the music, the eyes, the harmonies or simply the tears. Or, the way I felt through the day, somehow this video connected to that. Regardless, it's beautiful, just like all other Damien Rice creations.
Pure feelings between humans !
Purefect damien as always 🖤
