People would buy her polyester pant suits in the 1970s and she would cut them up and make crazy quilts and coats (for me) out of them. Waste not, want not. She dressed a lot like grandmaw. My mamaw (maternal grandmother) did wear pants on occasion, but not often. That said, they would all put pants under dresses when working the family farm.
Polly's Shore that's amazing I'm in NY my grandma's both wore the polyester pants. Never much wore skirts, just dressed up for holidays and fancy occasions. Funny how different families can be on the outside but so similar on the inside! Sweet loving caring. Why is our generation full of hate and anger..... I started watching these two on Facebook some years ago! I have to say that I have always loved how Shelia always sounds on the verge of laughter or she speaks like she's got a huge smile on her face! This is what respect looks like in accommodating an older person who's desire to arrive 40 minutes early is treated as perfectly normal instead of the senile whim of an 'old person.' To talk with them in a dignified manner about things that are not remotely important (what they're wearing to church) to the younger one's in the group. Instead, around the world, the wisest among us, simply because they are 'old' are left alone, abused, ridiculed, and laughed at for their physical weaknesses and treated by the younger generations as if they no longer matter. This is beautiful to see this young woman show such respect, and their is love in her voice - you can hear it!
