Proper drop of real detecting that, great video 🙂
And with regards to why a florin got its name instead of 2 shillings. The silver florin was Britain's first decimal coin. A gold florin was first issued during the reign of Edward III in 1344 at a value of six shillings. The name derives from Italian, either fiorino (little flower) or Firenze (Florence), and was inspired by a similar continental coin. Later in Victorian times it was re-introduced as the Silver Florin was a stab at decimalisation at one tenth of a pound. It was produced in quantity for general circulation in 1849, but was unpopular at first.
Wow cheers 🍻 now you made me want to find the 1344 one :-) thank you for this info 👍

Decent lads 👍
Appreciate it Ian 🙏
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel 👍
2 shillings coin was same as a florin, was called a florin as its size resembled a dutch florin at that time.
Oh I didn't know that, thank you mate 👍 🙏
I’ve been out of the game for about 10 years and never heard of simplex. Sounds like a 70s kitchen appliance name lol. When I started in the 70s all our machines were pretty basic but still found tons of stuff.
Haha it does that mate some of the names are crazy now like the Legend and the Manticore 😄 🤣 but they seem to work well, some of the more simple to use machines are still some of the best in my opinion :-)
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel aye when I started there were 5 different types of detectors. BFO, TR, IB, VLF and PI. Non of that now 😂. Wasn’t so many of us doing it back then and finds we’re thick on the ground.
Xterra pro..works great for the money
Loving it 😍
Finally got yoursen a ruck sack mike .
This may have been one of them occasions where I had to do some carrying of my own lol
That ole simplex is hard to beat😊
The one simplex :-) great machine
The Simplex+ runs at 12 Mhz not 15 the new Simplex series runs at 15 Mhz.
You would be correct mate :-) I think we was thinking about simplex Lite that we have been using as well :-)
It’s Khz if you want to get technical.
