It might be interesting to see a video of him recording a full day of how many trips(trip cards), miles, and of course the total pay at the end after gas.
Neither do points. The Acceptance Rate is supposed to get drivers kudos from the apps and supposedly gets a driver to the rider more expediently, which is supposed to get drivers more earnings. The earnings are for the apps, or course. I found that if you're in a busy market like Las Vegas, and you take every ride, you average about $1.00/mile in X. If you drive both X and XL, you will still only average $1.00/mile unless you meet quests and bonuses and get surge pricing. Little by little, the apps restrict your ride requests, mainly due to oversaturation of drivers. But when they went to upfront fares and no surges, and dispatching drivers outside of the airport waiting lot to go further to the airport and not paying drivers until after the drivers ate the first 8 miles and 8 minutes, plus making drivers wait for 5 minutes for free, and two minutes for free on add stops, it clearly was no longer enough to pay rent there. Uber can push out any driver they want. I lost a brother to drunk driving too, so that's why I drive the night shift, too. It's called survivor guilt. I can relate to this guy. Being interviewed. He should get his money while he can. All new drivers need to be aware of these apps' bait and switch games. I had a 100% acceptance rate for a long time in LV. No regrets. It was working for me until one day it wasn't. The only control we have over being an independent contractor is whether or not we accept or reject certain rides. Rate card or upfront fares, does not matter, gig companies should not be allowed to withhold ANY information from independent contractors that they (the companies) already know. That includes tips on food delivery apps. Whatever information gig companies have at the time of sending an offer out should be available for workers in order to make proper decision. Gig apps are the new wild west but they are protected on the highest level, unfortunately. They should not be regulated, they should just be forced to follow the already existing laws.

The problem is that most of the time Uber disables filtering the trips and offers rides in other direction - I never accept them and my acceptance rate is about 59%.
Competition drives down prices! I do close to 100% acceptance and I know how to do math. You probably don’t understand how it works now in smaller cities with the rate card setup being used. It’s not possible to determine good from bad before accepting in my town. Except you can look at that pickup distance.

It's called "survivor's guilt" when we just want to get all our little brothers and sisters home safely so they don't drink & drive! It's a calling for some people. But keep paying attention to the miles and minutes. I used to be a Diamond Pro in Las Vegas. Now I'm all the way back down to Blue, as if I were a new driver. 14:17 I make $26-$34 an hour in Miami. I used to work in IT on the backend systems for sone large IT companies, on algorithms. I am at 100% acceptance with zero cancelations and 4.99 stars and 98% CMT rating in Miami. We are on the New advantage program in Miami. The algorithm Uber is using, is Metric based. The higher your ratings, the larger percentage per ride you will make. I have the data since the program launched last month on July 15th as verification. I am very good with Math. The new algorithm CAN be manipulated, to receive larger paying rides. I have been driving since the beginning of this year using a Hertz/Uber rental, a Polestar 2 Electric vehicle. Uber deductes an additional 3-5% per ride from me, for using the rental option, but i am still making on average, $30 per hour. I did the Math and I've seen the results in my bank account...
I am in Philadelphia great minds think alike. I rent from Uber rentals, with an electric car, started about a week ago started ride share coming from UE , seeing major results currently in a great space. Best to you in all your endeavors. @kookiekindacrazy
Completely agree that a lot of riders treat ride share as public transportation. If I am taking a rider to/from work I can almost guarantee that there will not be a tip at the end. It doesn’t matter what your vehicle looks like, how good the communication is, or how safely you get them to their destination.
It based off of where you live to be honest when it comes to tips. At least that what i think because in Lubbock i make good tips. Last week i made a total of $85.15 in tips, and the week before last i made $52 for the week. But every week i average anywhere between $50 to $100 in tips for just 1 week. And to be honest it more shocking to because when i started with Lyft i never recieved much in tips maybe $5 to $10 a week and i even have a 5 Star Rating as well on Lyft but could only get $5 to $10 in tips and Lyft at the time when i started was much cheaper then Uber. Then when i switched to Uber that when i recieved more tips.
Mr Sergio, I always applaud you for your information and help you bring to gig drivers. However I disagree with you on that statement: " Uber can't deactivate the drivers for low acceptance rate ". You are wrong, brother. Any driver driver who wants to avoid a low acceptance rate can do this: Close the Uber X and use other options.
I am in an area about 1/3 the size of Lubbock, November will make 5 years doing this. Uber is still on rate card, Lyft has been on Upfront pricing for several months. Upfront greatly reduced what we get. Where they were the same before, Lyft minimum fares alone are 40-50 cents less than they were, longer trips much worse.
He must really need that money to accept 💯 of the ride request. Not being judgemental but looks like he is neglecting his health through these rideshare platform. Young man, in due time you will have 15% acceptance rate. Give it time. Get a real career job and make this gig part time but be profitable.
@@damoneymaker his market, and mine too, don't have upfront fares. We drive blindly and accept the trip request as is. We only see the fare after the trip completion
Thank you so much so much for opportunity to do this interview with you. I enjoyed it. Also there are some other reasons on why i Accept 100% which i forgot to bring up with the interview. 1st Thing: My car has a Warrant on it so if something was to bring down it covered. Now recently that Warranty though my dealership did expire so i went to another Warranty Company and went with them. This company i went with is the Number One Car Warranty company. I pay $150 a month and the Warranty on the car is 100K Miles or 4 Years whichever comes first. It covers anything related to the Engine as well as Electrical, Brakes, and much more as well as Free Tire Replacements, and Tow of up to 100 Miles if needed. Before getting this Warranty i did research as well as looking at reviews. The reviews had over 4K positive reviews as well. So if anything happens to the car such as Engine goes out, or a blow a Head Gasket i know it covered and all i pay is $100 Deductible. The warrant also covers Free Hotal Stays of up to 3 days if i am 100 Miles away from home. So for the most part my Car is 100% Covered.
Uber's acceptance rate in Austin Texas has been fixed with standard and advantage. If they publish the data per city, I guarantee Austin has gone up 20% and that could be understating it. If you're not advantage you're not working. I used to average 22 rides a day on Uber. I've done 42 rides in 28 days. Uber has increased their profit from 3% to 7% on my rides to 28% consistently. I'm making under 30% of rides I do actually get. Guaranteed advantage standard is rolling out worldwide. It has turned the tables for Uber profitability. I suggest buying Uber stock right now because their profit is going to blow up they're going to be so flush with so much money they could be the richest company in the world.
The questions are how long does it take you to make $200 how many miles are you giving yourself to make $200? How much gas do you have to pay in your car to make $200?
When Uber was good, $20 in my gas tank and I would make $200 Nissan Sentra 2017 under 200 miles that day a dollar a mile and with tips I would end up at least 210 or 220 for that day. My average day would start at six done at two I would lock myself 200 miles no more that needed to get me $200on a good day I could make $200 without going 200 miles including tips. That was a great day. I came out ahead working eight hours.
I can make $200 in 8 Hours. My car is pretty good on gas so in a 8-hour shift i can probably burn maybe $10 to $15 in gas. I would not 100% know for sure because i only fill up once every 2 days. I don't fill up every day like most drivers would. Once my car gets at a Half Tank i fill it up which is Once every 2 days. And as far as miles go i roughly put on around 130 to 150 that day.
Remember am on a Fixed Rate Card so my area is different then yours. If u listen to the interview i have Less Expense, I make more then my W-2 Job, and after paying my Expense i still have enough to spend on myself.
So yes, in my city when we turn on UberX it automatically accepts rides for both UberX and Uber Comfort as well as UberXL. I have contact support about this because i notice that some drivers do have this option and when i brought it up to them they told me they no longer do it anymore and the reason the other drivers do have it, is because they are on a older version for Uber, and that once they update there Uber app they will get the same thing that i have.
So many drivers treat this as a job (40hrs) and not a business, He gets what he needs currently, Big repair? New car? Will daddy buy the next car? Probably not, His city is twice the size of mine and I’m sure we have three times the drivers!
What’s the problem. I am 5 Star, 100% Acceptance Rating, 1% Cancellation Rate 11K Plus Rides Driving Since 2018. Washington DC Area. My bottom line is very much profitable. Everyone’s situation is different, so to refer to someone as being stupid etc. is disrespectful and unnecessary. Moving on😢
@ Hi there. The DC Area is a great market. Although the area is overly saturated with drivers; I had to customize it to me and my situation; that’s the key. Yesterday, for example, I had a 3-Ride Bundle to started near my home to Dulles Airport twice ending at DCA, 1st Pickup 5:15 AM 3rd drop-off 7:12 AM $101.21 Then 3 more for a total of 6 fairs $172.95 and I was seated at my office before 10:00AM. 3 Comfort Passengers later, with the 1st pickup across from my office building, 5:25 PM to Dulles $41.92, Priority access at Dulles 2nd Comfort From Dulles to Tysons Corner $31.17, finally and this was luck, I picked up In a passenger in Tysons Corner to Bethesda, Comfort $39.22. The last one got me 10 minutes from my home by 7:20PM. My Monday-Friday are all reservation with the exception of a few that may take me in the direction of my pickup. I rarely do weekends. Customize it to you and your situation.
In new Jersey Uber knows very well if they show upfront details driver will not accept trip..NJ uber my accept accept rate is 1% and taking only profitable ride freom EWR
Still trying to figure out how a reservation for $9 turns to $17 on cancellation. Would love to actually like to see the pay card for this trip. It seems odd.
Okay so in my area if u cancel a Reservation as a Passenger your Fee is much higher then if u was to request a normal ride without making a reservation.
I live in a resort town, so for the summer season Uber added a $5 surge fee to every ride that begins or ends in my town. Uber is passing the $5 fee to the driver. The problem is since starting this, the number of trips basically have reduced by almost half. The program ends on 9/14. I'm waiting to see if after the 14th if the number of trips goes back to normal.
Would be nice to know if these high AR drivers are getting quests/challenges/bonuses. Obviously, it would make more sense to have high AR if you're still getting decent quests to go after.
So the only quests that we get is when Texas Tech University is in town and in school and usually it $3 per ride that u accept when in that certain area. However i sometimes get that chance and sometimes i don't because Uber keeps u pretty busy when there in town so usually u never get that chance to wait in that area.
I drive Lyft and Uber Black… acceptance rate is super high on those rides… lowest I got was 96%. Do not cherry pick that much (such as Uber X), they are much more strict and bump you back down if you are not a “Good Boy”!
They may not kick you off the platform because of low acceptance rates, but with standard and advantage, they effectively have removed you from the platform. Can you still work? You can still log on but even in a city like Austin Texas you just sit there and don't get any ride offers. When a trip radar does finally come around, the hundred other drivers that are just like you that used to make money by cherry picking rides all except the piece of crap ride that they never would have accepted before. And then Uber says which one gets it. Any other 99 drivers are screwed for the next however long until they get to fight over scraps again.
Gainesville, FL Uber does not show upfront pricing also does not have trip radar. Jax which is about 90 minutes northeast, has upfront pricing with trip radar. Being a former Miami and NY taxi driver, I accept every ride unless the rider really pisses me off? Been driving since September 30, 2014 for Uber only as part time.
Got some screenshots for you. Just was hung up on multiple times. Some market manipulation/bait and switch tactics. Gaslighting support staff that never gets your issue correct. Imagine getting transferred 15 times in one call or hung up on 10x starting from call one.
If i had Upfront Fares believe me i would not accept 100% either. But right now, we are on a Fixed Rate Card. For UberX we get 80 Cents per mile at a $.80 Cent Base Fee, and Uber Comfort is $1.10 base fee for the first mile and $.88 cents per mile after that. I know when we are at Stops, we are paid $.15 Cents a min after waiting 2 mins as well as if we arrive and we are waiting for the customer to get into the car we are paid .15 Cents per min after waiting 2 mins. We also get Paid for Long Distance Pickup as well as Long Distance Pickup Time which the Time is .80 Cents for Each per mile it takes us to get there as well as $.60 Cents Per Min that it takes us to get there. In my Area Long Distance Pickup is anything more then 5 Miles.
Oh, come on. I have been doing this for ten years and doing ride share for a matter of months does not make an expert. Frankly, acceptance rate is not my priority. My bottom line is more important
Dear Mr. Sergio: We appreciate all the videos and the interviews, who else would defend the drivers like you, thanks and lots of thanks,, but we need to see solutions, we need you to convince the Uber CEO to reactivate our accounts!!
Last weekend a rider vomited on the back of my head! Would love to email you the pics with customer support. If you see this let me know if you would be interested in me emailing you this.
He would want the upfront information such as the pay and the pickup and the drop off locations but he would definitely not want the 35% pay cut that's going to come with it and the complete untransparency if that's a word that comes with this nefarious algorithm.
NO ONE TALKS about Expenses: The I.R.S. says .67 a mile includes Gas, Maintenance, Repairs, Insurance, Depreciation for all the miles your putting on your Vehicle, Plus if your at $20 labor rate per hour broken down to $5 for 15 mins.for the rides you take., or Half hour for $10 Ect. So now let's look at Ride request Here's one $4.15 for 5 miles and 15 mins. so -3.35 for mileage and let's say $5 labor totals $8.35 - $4.15 fare you loss (-4.20) Here's another request Fare $6.17 9 miles 15 mins. Mileage expense $6.03 and if you want $5 labor that ride you loss for ride ($4.86). # 1 Thing what you gross a hour is not how much your making per hour Mileage expenses have to come off of that. That's WHY RIDE SHARE DRIVERS need a Model of Total Mile expenses. Once drivers say NO to Uber to No upfront Pricing. and Ride share riders so NO to Lyft low ball pricing. Then both Ride Share companies won't have the Drivers it needs. That's why I refuse to advertise for new drivers. That's what the companies want lots of new drivers. Not knowing how much money there really make. Until there figure out how Ride share is not that profitable for the drivers on most ride requests. IF THE RIDE SHARE GUYS put out a MODEL for ALL DRIVERS New and current drivers on mileage costs your going to see huge decline in Accepting rides for Losses for Drivers. Just Saying :)
Oh my God man, just think if someone throws up in your car you get $150. As you said that's an entire day's worth of work for you to just clean up some throw up. I don't have barf bags in my car most of the time because I want someone to throw up in my car. My car is set up to be thrown up in. I had the Toyota fake leather seats. I have the floor mats that protect the carpet on the floor so if someone throws up it doesn't get in my carpet. I have blocks in my door pockets so it doesn't go and get trapped inside there. For me to clean up the worst throw up I've had in my car literally took 15 minutes. $150 for 15 minutes Yes please. True, I'm no longer working on Uber for a few hours to make it seem like I'm not set up for it. But I run Lyft in that time and I'm still making money.
It is but the $150 u have to show receipt that you got it taken care of before you even get paid by Uber. Now at 2am when customer start leaving the bars everything is closed so if they do Throw Up in your car you can't go to a Details Shop to clean it because there closed, you can't go to walmart to buy stuff to clean it because there closed. All of our stores are closed at that time expect for Gas Stations

In Houston Uber and Lyft both show the earning pick up and drop off distance on all rides. I'm not sure why they don't in Lubbock. Maybe this guy doesn't know the app very well.
Serg, it's easier to take 100% acceptance when the calls are not back to back. For example he might have 10 minute waits between calls. Just like working in a call center, if you have time between calls then of course.
There are times when Texas Tech is not hear where you can wait 10 mins to 15 mins without a call. But when they are here it can be back-to-back. Competition drives down prices! I do close to 100% acceptance and I know how to do math. You probably don’t understand how it works now in smaller cities with the rate card setup being used. It’s not possible to determine good from bad before accepting in my town. Except you can look at that pickup distance.
I can promise am not clueless. If u listen to the interview i told everyone how much i made on my W-2 Job. Around $520 every 2 Weeks.

I can relate to you! I also lost my brother in a dui. But the market I'm in is still pretty much operated by Yellow Cab and the population is under 70,000.
As far as picking up intoxicated people, if they are off balance and hardly able to walk, they may be suffering from alcohol poisoning and should throw up before getting in your car! Keep your doors locked and don't let anyone put a drunk person unable to walk into your car and just leave them with you as a third party rider (not the account holder). There's nothing wrong with calling an ambulance and letting the EMTs do their job to help the sick, too.

Same!
I have had a lot of people under influence of alcohol in the car but the only person that has ever puked in my car was a radiology patient.

I've been there and done that. And trust that is a shitty sick.....only I did it in my dad's car lol

@@sergioSMTMC1 good interview. Let’s wait for a veteran 100 %
Ok, thanks for the comment, send me proof that they can, sergio@therideshareguy.com

Well done
Which company?
@@FL52 Endurance.
Yes, we talked about ot
Same here in Tampa Florida market. I did everything I could to get my rate up asap
Bulls don't come in Hourly....
Yes that’s very good I wish
The fares are so low these days it’s ridiculous and I’m not a night driver
I just did my 1st ride share with Uber on Sunday. I enjoyed my experience, 4 hours $96.06 7 rides with two tips. I will do it again this Sunday.
I dont think travis has his numbers straight. 4 months means nothing. Check back after a year or two and see if he's still driving
He said he will, are you still driving
Remember am on a Fixed Rate Card so my area is different then yours. If u listen to the interview i have Less Expense, I make more then my W-2 Job, and after paying my Expense i still have enough to spend on myself.
Switch to comfort with barf bags and switch UberX on when in a surge and make 300 instead of 200
Maybe not in his city
So yes, in my city when we turn on UberX it automatically accepts rides for both UberX and Uber Comfort as well as UberXL. I have contact support about this because i notice that some drivers do have this option and when i brought it up to them they told me they no longer do it anymore and the reason the other drivers do have it, is because they are on a older version for Uber, and that once they update there Uber app they will get the same thing that i have.
So many drivers treat this as a job (40hrs) and not a business,
He gets what he needs currently,
Big repair?
New car?
Will daddy buy the next car?
Probably not,
His city is twice the size of mine and I’m sure we have three times the drivers!
Big Repairs the car has a Warranty on it of up to 100K miles or 4 years which ever comes first. All i pay out of pocket for Repairs is $100
What’s the problem.
Moving on😢
Good market I guess. I live down by Norfolk, VA and you definitely cannot be profitable accepting everything.
I've seen it, in that specific case it did, on Uber it does
Okay so in my area if u cancel a Reservation as a Passenger your Fee is much higher then if u was to request a normal ride without making a reservation.
Hopefully it will go back up for u in Number of Trips.

My acceptance rate is 6 percent right now
150 in 8 hours is terrible

Good point
So the only quests that we get is when Texas Tech University is in town and in school and usually it $3 per ride that u accept when in that certain area. However i sometimes get that chance and sometimes i don't because Uber keeps u pretty busy when there in town so usually u never get that chance to wait in that area.
Everyone starts somewhere. Good interview and perspective of new driver.
Thanks
Thank you
I drive Lyft and Uber Black… acceptance rate is super high on those rides… lowest I got was 96%.
Sergio? I have to say. Travis interview is the most down to earth driver.
Get that money, Travis
Thank you so much and hope you enjoyed the interview
Come back in 4 months Pal and let us know your acceptance rate then buddy😂
This guy is still a newbie,he will learn his lessons the hardest not to accept every call thrown his way.
he may or may not
I figured it out after three trips.

They give you 40, 80, 120, 150 and that depends on your luck.
