I love that Kevin is open about being in the church!!! I moved to New Jersey to take a position in a church and have met many Puerto Rican’s here and would love to communicate in their first language! I never realized all the differences between dialects. I’m super thankful that you’re teaching this specific dialect because usually the most common Spanish teaching is dialects from Spain or Mexico. Thank you and God bless you!!!
im a 16 year old newyorican and these videos help me out a lot. i’ve been trying to learn spanish for the past two months in order to connect with my family better and i’ve went from not knowing anything in spanish to being able to comprehend and hold most conversations pretty ok for a no sabo kid 😂 it sucks that there’s not much media to consume in order to learn the PR dialect that isn’t music, so i really appreciate these videos. helps me talk faster, clearer, and more confidently. i would love to see more of these types of puerto rican videos.
Thanks so much for watching, Aidan. You may be able to find some Puerto Rican Vloggers that aren't really associated to music, just entertainment. But I haven't been able to find any that I really like yet. I'll let you know if I do. Keep grinding!
I really enjoyed this video! What I most loved is that it wasn't pre-scripted, so we got to hear Kevin's answers on the spot, like a real authentic interview. Love that method! Also, I understood Kevin much more this time than the last. I think I'm getting more acclimated to colloquial Spanish. Loving your videos! Thank you so much!! 👏🙏
I love this! My in-laws are from Puerto Rico and hearing him speak reminds me so much of time with them. One day I hope that We will know enough Spanish to take my kids to visit Family and speak with them in their native language.
I love Puerto Rico. I visit often. Went twice this year so far. My only issue is when I try to speak Spanish to the locals they answer me in English. Or they repeat what I said how they would say it almost jokingly. I think if people would just have patience and patience and speak with you you could learn quicker burn quicker but they like to make fun.
Been a year since I seen this video but glad I came back to watch it again because I’ve made so much progress and can understand way more of this video without the subtitles.
I swear sometimes I feel hopeless that I'll never be fluent to be able to understand native speakers. It is a goal to learn everything I need in Spanish
It's okay don't feel hopefully. It's possible to learn you just need to continue to consume comprehensible input in Spanish more often every day. You will be fine. Stay focused and keep at it!
This was a really solid video, and I dig this layout. Having actual conversations is where you grow. The biggest thing that kills me is the speed that most native Boricuas speak at. It’s wild. Between the accent and speed, I can get lost. This convo was at a slower pace, so it was really easy to stay along. But when I talk to my family and sometimes customers, they talk at light speed and it’s rough. But these are awesome. Also, I was really surprised you don’t know Fiebru. In any case. Keep up the great work, man.
Gracias Pana mio This was very helpful . I was married to a Puerto Rican lady . I learned from listening to her, her mother and her Aunt . If you can comprehend Spanish your halfway there.
Love these videos! Please do more!! I have family in Santo Domingo, DR and trying to learn how to understand them. These videos are helping me because they sound similar to Kevin. Thanks for all you do and keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much I'm moving to PR soon And I'm trying to learn as much as I can, you are a God sent and you are much appreciated.Yes please bring Kevin back love his chill vibe.
I especially love these conversations because la mitad de mi familia es de PR, but I was never really taught Spanish 😕. So this really gives me hope for learning and working on the accent🥰 thank you

Thanks so much Juana! I'll be honest, that took me a lot of time to do. I did it on the first video me and Kevin did and I was debating on whether or not I should do it again but I know it helps y'all a lot so I said "screw it" I'll do it again! haha and I think I will continue to do it now that I know for a fact that it's really helping.
Your videos are super helpful. Thank you so much. I love having the subtitles and I know it's a lot of work to edit those. I'm a French guy living in London and I'm only starting now to learn Spanish. I truly like your approach and I genuinely feel like I'm improving quickly thanks to you. So thank you. PS: now I keep on randomly saying "Tu sabes como es" 🤣

This was an interesting exercise for me. I had a much easier time translating the words without looking at the English words. So, I forst listened to the questions and answers. Then, I slowed the video down and only wrote down words I understoid that were being said during the questions and answers. After that, I listened again, to see what did I get right. Listening is so hard bc they talk so fast . Howvever. This was sort of fun. I'll keep going.
