Ahh, thanks a lot! i spent 30mins trying to balance the hydrogen atoms by making it 3 in the LHS instead of trying to make the 3 atoms of H in the RHS an even number. So, what i learnt from this video is how to balance sodium + water chemical reaction and to keep in mind to change the odd numbers into even numbers. This hasn't even been mentioned in my textbook. Thanks a bunch! :)

@@maiz3558 Thanks! There are a number of "systems" form memorizing. I like the Leitner Box (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leitner_system). Something like the free software Anki (apps.ankiweb.net/) uses similar learning algorithms. It is good for just remembering but not for understanding. But they are related. For example, in chemistry, if you can remember the polyatomic ions (ruclips.net/video/vepxhM_bZqk/видео.html) you'll develop understanding more quickly because you'll have instant access to that information.
So the key is to have a good system to memorize large amounts of info and then to learn with understanding where you tie it all together. If you can sustain this over time you'll be in good shape!
