Hey Everyone I can't believe how much this video has blown up since I posted it. A lot of you guys have been asking me how much I pay for this apartment. Here is the response: Since I am an Au Pair I get this apartment as part of my contract deal, I don't personally pay for it. However, I have friends living in similar apartments and they are paying anywhere from €350-700 a month depending on what part of the city they are in. Thanks so much for watching and for all your comments. -Cecily
Honestly this place is perfect. The fact you have your own toilet and shower in such a small studio is amazing. Everything is so charming and the view is incredible. How could you not love it?
It s s little more complex. It s never full length and it fills the front of pipes behind. Altho it s called wine cubby, or bottle cubby, one of the slots is for your roll of garbage bags, i also have a couple of tools ( which would take insane amount of space on a shelf ( a screw driver, the plumbing wrench etc). Then you are supposed to have a bottle of water at all times - specially on top floor. Each time they do plumbing repairs means no wat, so it s the emergency half gallon water. In this space, she can aslo put her umbrella. Let me count, that leaves only 2 slots for two wines. Which is barely enough emergency reserves. Remember, she s 5th or 6 th floor without elevator (?) so you need to prioritize!
You're actually pretty lucky. Most chambre de bonne do not have toilet and shower in the room! Yours is a rare room, very elegant and brand new. It's almost an exception lol

Wow where did you find this type of apartment in Paris?! Usually small apartments like that don’t have all that modern storage space, kitchen and definitely don’t have a bathroom. You are super lucky.
The family who hires an au pair usually owns the chambre de bonne apartment that their au pairs live in. Au pairs should never be responsible for searching for their own apartments. Usually it’s also in the same building as the families apartment, also.
❤️ ❤️ your space. I great inexpensive way to have wall art is vinyl record covers. You do not have to frame them. Over the years of my travels I collected advertising match books, ashtrays, menus from the restaurants we had drinks and dinner at. Some times is was just drinks. My dinning room wall was paper with menus and play bills from musicals and play attended. The shot glass collection is kept in two separate Pepsi bottle crates. I have an extensive ash tray collection. Some of which are mixed in with the shot glasses. The others are stacked and displayed in a bookcase. I started my travels in 1967 and got the bug to collect these easy items to bring home. So many great memories and items.
