Absolutely agree. He fights with tons of style and each battle has a coherent theme and a good bit of dramatic irony (fighting Protoman using just swords and no fancy combos, Metalman like a real "ninja", using BassGS to finish off BassΩ). His strategies are unique and way more interesting to watch than the same old folders or powerful program advances over and over again. And even still, his skills are so good that most of his delete times are on par with those overused combos!
@@davidbass4834 He's the most enjoyable player of this series. The amount of cretativity in his fights is ridiculous. Not just your usual routine folders as other most channels do. My jaw dropped several times in his videos.
There's that and i'm happy also on people seeing for themselves that his style is _natural_ and not at all otherwise. He just simply knows how to take us back to where it all started with BN.
Wow some of the hardest fights of my childhood. This was easily the hardest GBA games I've ever 100% back when I was a kid and you made all these fights look so easy. The fact that you did both games exclusive fights is a brilliant touch too. Well done!
They have such a good remake/reboot potential for the Switch particularly. It's a shame that Capcom apparently doesnt notice that. In the Ds era they only had a poor 3d hardware to work on, but now the Switch's features (portable potent hardware, multiplayer capacity, connectivity) create a very different situation. At the very least remake the 1-3 trilogy adding the evolved features of later games.
Man I've been playing Battle Network constantly for the last four years, and watching this made me realize that I clearly am still a beginner. Even after fighting Bass, Serenade, and some of the time trials I clearly need to rethink my chip libraries.
No joke, watching these vids made me rethink my entire viewpoint on MMBN battles in general. No more same old folders and strategies; I come up with new ones. Dirge's videos have really helped me become even better than I thought was possible. His/her creativity is amazing and unique.
About two years later but, I love all of these but honestly it's really funny to me how you have these really efficient strategies for defeating the bosses so quick, and then there's this Protoman in particular where it's just "Oops! All Wide Sword/Step Sword!" Excellent.
Well, in MMBN3 the bosses were waaay harder than in the previous games, at least for first time players. In the first game, only the last boss had 1000 hp. In MMBN3, most bosses have 2000 in their final form, and their patterns are way harder to figure out and counter. Those OP chips was a way the developers found to even things out, I think
The devs have always made it so it's easy to do a lot of damage output if you're skilled enough. So even if other games have weaker chips it's mitigated by stuff like full synchro or less duplicate/navi chip limitation.
OP chips balanced eachother out in pvp, and made the game actually fun for those playing the story. It was difficult to acquire the chips necessary without cheating but once you had them it was very rewarding.
Watching these make me wish these games would be revived for the modern era YET still keep the overall same gameplay and mechanics. These games were a true GBA gem (ok minus plot and a few other things with the later games but all in all as a series great lol)
I feel the “great battlers” theme that was used for Protoman should have been the theme for EVERY Omega Navi battle fight. That way you get to fight e every boss in the game with that badass theme at least once. Plus you can’t get anymore Great Battler than the Navi’s in their final ultimate form

Back when chips and combos were still OP af and somehow the game was still mind numbingly hard.
To this day you still know how to keep the BN series alive. Capcom could see these and reconsider what time it is again for those like us. Thank you.

Very satisfying, probably because of how methodically you plan out each boss
Beating Protoman at his own game is just so gratifying to watch

That protoman fight had superhuman reflexes

I love the Proto Man battle! An honorable sword fight

Protoman defeated only by sword type chips, oh the irony.

Unnecessary complex combos....I like it !
Goddamn it the Protoman fight was so sick. The combo finale like that was so cool.
