Thank you for taking the time to remake the video with new audio. Excellent and very informative video. The reverse on all four coins look “flat”, not even close to FDC.
yes numi sending it back is the right thing to do, fdc they are having a laught 17.75k, its nearly impossible to work out what to pay for these coins they vary so much, i have seen 1 sovereigns pf66 uc go for 12k 5 sovs same grade go for around 22k and so on...ultra cameos are always high prices items as there are not as many of them around, but they in my opinion are the ones to go for and in time are the ones that will make the biggest increase in price, great video but disappointed like you with the quality of the coins..
super set, i wonder if conservation could clean up those dark lines?.. would be great if ncs could work their magic on such a lovely set. certainly not fdc., in my view its perfect or its not,..hope all is resolved. i think you are right to send it back.
I've had concerns about (grade vs price) buying anything from TRM for awhile now - you seem to justify my concern with this one (I suggested [to myself] a grade of 62 even in my limited knowledge - in this case) But whatever it were to get my concern remains and in these challenging times, the one thing TRM can do is justify their place in the collecting world, rather than take advantage of it - I hope?
This is the same royal mint historic that sold the fake in the previous video? The one that is noted for very poor quality control in their modern proof production? I would steer well clear. The scratches on the 5 sov would be very distracting even if details is avoided imo. These coins are nice but the mint should really just defer to ngc or pcgs. The historic division is looking a bit farcical imo especially in the context of the huge sums involved. A fake and obvious scratches on the headline coin. By the way a 63dcam set did sell in a recent heritage auction for 17k plus.
Looks like hairlines on the obverse of the first coin...63 I agree with. I think the half will go cam (63). 2 sov. looks to be 64 cam. The 5 sov looking 63cam. Not as good as the first video seemed to show... IMO, these were all rubbed just a bit.
if i opened my coins and one face had 3 lines on it then i would send it back or i would tell me that i wouldn't pay £17,000 for it because one coin is damaged
Maybe the Royal Mint should sell these high premium coins Slabbed?
At least you then know what you are buying.

Cheers for going to the trouble Numi. Great video and a beautiful if pricey set !
Just looked on a website,FDC set for £14500.
I'm sure a nice PSGC set sold for £10,900 on eBay last week. I'd love to own one of those sets.

Well, you tried. I have always wanted a 1937 specimen. Interesting how the parallel lines can disappear when the coin is moved.
At 4K there is another line on the cheek too but definitely not as obvious as the three big ones
great point Numi you Da Man
Great set of coins 👌🏽
No wonder they have asked NGC to step in
Seen them advertised for £12000.
Got to like the gold soverns I think they are a nice way to get gold coins
Will the remembrance day 2 pound be in great demand with a mintage of 1920?
£15K,or the equivalent of around $20K seems to be the going rate, ouch.
They more than likely purchased the set at an auction for half, or even less, of their asking price.
