    It's true, don't think about business loans like personal loans. You should be wary of personal loans where you're taking out money for some vanity objects that won't really make you money. In business however, you're basically using that money to expedite your cash flow so it's worth taking those loans out and using that money to make more money.

      Thanks! You are right. While this is risk free in the game, we have to be careful in real life!

    I have a different technique on how I make money. The first garage upgrade and my first truck, I actually earned moving frac tanks and doing heavy haul runs for other virtual companies. Some of the jobs pay $40-50k per, so you can jump up relatively quickly. Then, once I have my own truck and 4 other drivers, I just keep driving the company trucks. (No cost of fuel, damages to the truck, etc.) I also turned off traffic tickets.
    Once you get past a certain point for revenue, you're going to generate enough to make the business run self-sufficiently; so then I just drive around the map and unlock things like the recruiters. This way I can hire more skilled and higher value drivers, which make me more money with more lucrative loads. Lather, rinse and repeat, and you'll have a pretty healthy fleet in no time.

    Thanks, this helped me get millions of dollars per minute. I used a tiny little different method though. I bought a bunch of trucks and put it in all different garages in the game, and then I went to recruit some people so that they don't leave me in 3 days.

    I never got a loan. I felt that it was a waste. Having to pay such a high interest rate seemed like it was taking my hard earned money. Sure it took me longer to even get my first truck and employees but i'm happy with my decision. :P

    • @WilfridWong
      @WilfridWong  7 лет назад +6

      It is all about borrowing money to make more money. It is like if you are paying $50 interest per day for a loan while making $200 profit out from the extra working capital, you are basically making $150 profit per day by making that one single decision of taking out a loan in game. The difference between this simulator and real life is that it is a risk-free business. There is no way for you to lose money in game by taking out a loan.
      But you are right, we have a different approach to a game. It is what makes us happy that matters.

    Take a loan as soon as possible. Assuming one drives as safely as possible, the only expense one will have is fuel. With nothing else to pay for, one generally can make the daily payment doing only one trip per real day. Who in their right gaming mind wouldn't play for more than on in game day.
    One hour of game play is equal to only three minutes of real time. But it only counts when on is not in a menu or pause. Beginner's should start by turning off or unchecking the fines, detour's, event's, and fatigue. All of which when one is new, will cause you to be late, which means you don't get paid. And or cost you money, you'll invest a lot of time and effort trying to make.

I used it to buy a truck to haul more heavy loads, plain 389 Pete daycab but upgraded to 430hp, 13speed, and 6x4 chassis to test. It pulled good so bought 2nd shop in new competitive location and hired more drivers with same truck config......I also got an overdraft message but think it happens when cash in hand is too low to pay the daily payments....1 good load solves it.....I think. I know a few business owners and wealthy individuals, and this is how they make money in real life essentially. They are all super aggressive with using loans and borrowed moneys as working capital to make money, and as they pay off debt they acquire more so they can repeat the cycle.
    The one guys philosophy is literally, “why would I use my own money to make money when I can use somebody else’s?”

    Hey Wilfrid Wong! Just wanted to say how freaking awesome you are for making videos on this simulator! I just recently started actually today is the day I have done so. I watched almost all of your videos on this. I did have a question for you though. Do you think they will continue to expand and move online like Euro Truck Simulator? Also once again thanks for all the tips. I was skittish about the loans and you are right. Most of my trips make me anywhere from 13k-20k a day so paying it back is easy. Also working on my garage only got 2 trucks right now been playing for 6 hours haha. Well cheers my kind sir hope you reply plus also. You got a sub my good man!

      Hello fellow trucker! Indeed, they have plans to continue releasing new US States as DLC. Because of long term commitment, they are currently rescaling the Nevada, California and Arizona maps to be on par with the Euro version. Because that is the only sustainable way to move it forward.
      When they first made American version, they were not sure if this would be well received or not.

You just need to play normal, not drive over the cliff, and you'll make money. (I may have to go trying driving off a cliff or into the Grand Canyon.)

    I don't take out loans. I don't hire people. I don't have multiple garages and vehicles. The money I save I use to pimp the truck and the person I do care about. This means that I make less money and accure less stress on things I don't care about. So I get there slightly slower but when I do get there I don't owe anyone anything. I did it all myself and I feel better then you. I don't worry about what anyone else is doing or how fast they got there. Its a driving game. The destination isn't important. Its the journey. If your journey is not driving and just looking at menus then thats awesome. Do you.

    • @WilfridWong
      @WilfridWong  Год назад +3

      To each his or her own. It is a risk free approach to expand your trucking company in this game. What stress are you referring to when the game doesn't penalise you with unforeseeable events? You do realize that you don't owe anyone anything. This is just a game. You own the game and you are the boss :) Chill.

    Reckon it's due to my age (73) and having what I found out is "DUMB THUMB'S"; But it took me some 200 hour's to get a grip on the learning curve envolved in this game. To be fair, it only took about half of that, for the actual game, the other half is in setting up an xbox controller for someone who left thumb isn't only dumb, but a complete idiot.
    Adjusting the steering senistivity and turning radius for driving in the city, caused issue's when driving on the highway. I eventually found a happy place between them and taking a the stick of another controller as long as the one on my controller, super glue it to the top of mine. I can now drive using the same exact setting's in the city or highway.
    Trying to play as realistic as possible is impossible with the various algorithium the NPC use to get around. Thus in addition to installing those realistic and quality of life mods, I've come accross. Have taken to installing what would be considered a couple of cheat's. But in reality, because I can not controll the NPC's. They are actually quality of game play mods.
    If it exist, I've yet to find it; But I'm looking for a mod that just as one of the fuel mod's do, make's the economy more realistic. The vanila driver pay is totally unrealistic, and the the choice is to mod with one that is even considerably higher to the N-th degree or one that is considerably lower to the N-th degree. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground.

    It might seem counterintuitive but you should take out your loan in the smallest amount. And pay it back as soon as you can. That way if you have like 400k borrowed you can pay it off way sooner. The reason why is because you don’t have to save the full 350-400 k to pay the loan off.

    • @WilfridWong
      @WilfridWong  3 года назад

      But a larger loan also yields much better return. Since it is a risk free business in this game, it is okay to have the loan borrowed to the max all the time, until you have so much cash that the loan no longer make sense.

    • @mytruckinlifeace4047
      @mytruckinlifeace4047 3 года назад

    One update: I just download coast to coast mod and with the mod the price per mile for the jobs have almost reduced by half. so we won't be making as much profit as we were earlier. Bank interest and driver wages are just the same. do you have suggestions on this mod ? should we go with it or not from purely expanding business and making money point of view ?

      vamsi M , I have yet to try the C2C mod. Is it fun? So long as you are not paying more daily interest than what your additional working capital can earn a day, it is still a risk free investment.

    • @vamsim4815
      @vamsim4815 7 лет назад

      I think it is fun to play as the map includes complete america. But the problem is you have to drive more miles to earn same amount of money as in base game. I need to check the finances / daily profit etc to see how good is it to invest early as you explained in the video.
      In base game, freight market gives you easily few 45$/ mile deliveries. But with C2C, the max i get is 25$/mile delivery.

    I joined wot but my American truck games did not transfer to wot. I did link ATS to wot. I created my personal tags and it does show on my owned truck but none of my trips etc. has uploaded to wot. what do I need to do?

    • @WilfridWong
      @WilfridWong  8 лет назад

      In-game contacts are different from WoT contacts, unfortunately. The only way to have your trip statistics shown on the website is when you accept and drive WoT contacts.

      World of Truck, you use it to get external contracts and track your progress through their server (for events etc). Your company still works the same way, with or without World of Truck.

    But what do I do when I buy a truck? Do I have to buy a trailer at the same time? How do I do a job with my own truck. I can get through the financial part here. So there was very little I learned from this video. I needed to know basics. How do I pick up a load on my own? Does it appear magically at my garage? fuck , fuck, fuck

    • @WilfridWong
      @WilfridWong  5 лет назад +1

      Relax 😀. There are three types of jobs. First type does not require a truck but the payoff is bad. Because you are driving other people's truck. Second type is you have your truck, you drive to a location to pick up the trailer and you deliver it to the destination, very much like in real life. Third type is called external contact and it is the same as second type. Just that the contract is online and you can't undo driving mistakes you makes.
