    Best review on this amp, it's literally the next best thing to trying it on your own.
    So Im on the fence but leaning towards this amp every time I watch a video I find myself saying how good it sounds.
    Im thinking about picking this up with a Joyo vintage OD and delay pedal and a 2x12 cabinet from Harley Benton with vintage 30s. It will cost about as much as a boss katana 2x12 but this just seems better for some reason unless I'm missing something

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад

      Thank you so much! Glad you found this helpful! I haven't tried a katana so I can't compare, but I must say the reviews all look really positive and it seems so versatile, so a katana will give more options, but then again, having a separate 2x12 cab is also handy. All depends what you're after. A TS and delay going into the Jackman (or my orange terror stamp) and an HB vintage 30 cab is my set up for jamming day to day and I really like it, but I can't compare it, like I said. Crazy, though, how far budget gear can get you these days!

    • @FretLevelMidnight

      I have a Katana 100 MK1 combo that I have modified to run to my Harley Benton 2x12 cab w/ V30's, and it sounds fantastic. I think if you are going to buy the Katana, you should just buy the head as it has a mini 7" speaker built in, and you should buy that Harley Benton cab regardless, it's fantastic. I have owned both the Joyo Bantamp BlueJay which I sold in an amp upgrade deal, and now a Jackman II (Gold Edition!) and they are fantastic little amps, and even more portable than my Katana, if you love pedals they're great. I guess I'd say Katana first if you don't have one, but I'd buy both regardless, situationally they're both very versatile yet different and allow you to explore pedals well also. Joyo has bluetooth, Katana 100W and up have exp pedal input and take a footswitch, etc.

      Thanks for this mate, really helpful! I'm keen to try a katana after all the videos and reviews I've seen and read. Those gold Jackman II editions look great.

    I bought the Jackman II amp just for the effects loop. I never venture past the clean channel. I run a Friedman small box and BE pedals through the front. With a Les Paul loaded with APH-1’s I can nail that GnR AFD tone. For the cab sim, I run into my zoom R8 and use cubase software to clean it up a bit in the mix. Over all a great little unit. Here’s a kicker….I travel extensively with it, it has been all around the world and haven’t had a bit of trouble with it.

    • @AlexisGuitars

      Awesome! Yeah the clean channel with FX loop and an OD in the front can get you very far with this amp. Thanks for watching!

    Great review, I'm currently trying to talk myself out of buying the Orange Micro Terror, but you just made it a lot more confusing. The truth is I don't *need* another amp, but damn!!!! These mini amps are looking increasingly good, and would probably give me more options when it comes to recording into the DAW/audio interface.

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      Thank you very much! The Orange micro heads are great. I normally use the orange terror stamp on my channel which I love.
      If "need" comes into the question, I would have a lot less gear haha! I can only speak for the Jackman, but it would be a great recording tool, and the bantamp range means you can get different flavours of amp-tones.
      What I would say, though, is you'd need some kind of cab sim, whether that be from your DAW or from an external pedal like the CAB M which I use.
      Thanks for watching!

    Question: I'm chasing the tone of Prince. He used to use Mesa Boogie a lot. Now JoYo has the Zombie, which is their MB clone, but whenever I see a review of the Zombie it's always presented as a metal-amp. You think that would be a good buy for me?

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      Hi mate, I'm not an expert on Prince's tone, and I haven't tried the Zombie. However, you should check out the Zombie demo from "intheblues" (if you don't follow already, it's a great channel). He's a blues player and shows off how versatile the amp is. I'd say that his video would be your best bet on answering that question!

    • @Da_Publick
      @Da_Publick 5 месяцев назад

      The first important thing is to not mistake the zoMBie for a Mesa/Boogie. It sounds nothing like it, the same way the JaCkMan doesn't _really_ sound like a Marshall. JOYO, much like players in the digital modeling amp game, are using the power of suggestion to attract customers. I'm not saying the amps sound bad, but rather that they should be seen for what they really are. They're cheap lunchbox amps, with different gain levels, and names created to remind customers of higher quality, classic amplifiers.

    Excellent in-depth review, as always!
    To be honest, the Bantamp II series isn't worth the extra money because for the same amount of money you can get the Fender LT25 that is more versatile (since it's a modelling amp) and can be used as an audio interface for home recording, which saves a great deal of money for beginners.

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      Thank you very much! Really appreciate the feedback.
      Yes like I said in the video I am more than happy with the Jackman I. There is a lot more competition as you say when you get to the price of the Jackman II. For just a bit more you can also get a 5w all-valve amp from harley benton so you need to really want the Jackman II, I think. Although, it is a cool sounding amp haha!! Thanks for watching, mate

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      I was mistaken! For less than the Jackman II you can get a 5w amp, for a little bit more you can get a 15w harley benton tube amp. The affordable amp market is really impressive!

    • @ErebosGR
      @ErebosGR 3 года назад +1

      @@AlexisGuitars I find the entry-level tube amps completely obsolete, because the entry-level modelling amps and software simulations have progressed so much.
      For beginners, all you need is the cheapest audio interface (the Behringer UCG102 is around $30) and a bunch of free amp sims (e.g. Ignite, NaLex, Vadim Taranov, ML Sound Lab, Lostin70s, KPP etc.) and you have thousands of dollars worth of tones.

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely, It's amazing what you can do these days with software and digital tech. I don't think the affordable tube amps are for obsolete though. I agree that less money can get you more, but there's still a place for old tube technology in affordable packages :) At least, for old fashioned guitar players like me without a big budget!

    im a beginner looking for a first amp,is this a good option?

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад +1

      Hi, on the one hand, yes, as it is fairly inexpensive, very easy to use and gives great tones for the price. On the other hand, you would also need to buy a separate cab (Harley Benton sell affordable cabs) and obviously a speaker cable to connect them, so the price increases. In that respect, for a first amp, it might be worth considering a combo amp.
      If a separate cab is not an issue for you, then yes, I'd say it is a good option for beginners, absolutely. Hope this helps!

      @@AlexisGuitars do you know any other amps that would be good for a beginner?

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  3 года назад

      For a first amp, I would probably go for a solid state combo amp, 10-20W.
      I can't recommend a specific amp as it's been a long time since I've played any kind of "first-amp", but about 16 years ago I started out on something like a Fender Frontman 10G (an older version, though). For a similar price (less than 100€) you can get harley benton or Marshall combos which I haven't tried and have no experience with, but for a first amp are probably all that is needed.

    Can I connect jackman headphones out to focusrite scarlett and monitor it via headphones connected to scarlett?

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars  2 года назад

      Hi mate. You can line out from the headphones as far as I am aware. I kind of demonstrated this using a loudspeaker in this video. However on this version of the Jackman, to go into an interface you might need an adaptor as the headphones out input on the Jackman is the size for standard headphones and not instrument cable size. On the latest Jackman II the headphones out doubles as a line out and is instrument cable size, meaning it would be easier.

      Haha keep the questions coming, happy to help if I can! For me, the orange terror stamp is better. I really love the tones from that amp. You can't get clean tones loud enough for a full rehearsal, but if you're playing rock or heavy metal then the gain tones are loud enough for sure. You will also need a boost to tighten up high gain, because the gain knob passed 2 o'clock is just fuzz which I don't like, but with a TS pedal with gain at 1-2 o'clock it has great high gain tones. It sounds more tube-like than the Jackman
