Ok, in general I like this plot although I don't generally like the FL's complete lack of respect for their kept man, not even knowing the name in most cases. I can respect the need for control after being betrayed and life turned upside down but it isn't fair when the men are callous so not fair for the women to be even more so to the extent of not even knowing their name. I can't think of dramas offhand when the men don't at least know a name (even an alias) after 3 years even if they ignore everything else. That being said - the idea that the FL is bound by loyalty to the SML's family out of filial piety, gratitude, etc makes some sense when trying to break off relations and trying to win the contract as payback. I am 4 minutes in and I am so confused. They are using the word engagement. Usually the FL has faked a marriage certificate to placate in-laws kindness so there is that subterfuge. But here it seems everyone in on the same page (assuming script and subtitles are correct - many dramas randomly confuse terms) that this only an engagement contract. SML has gone abroad, breaking off wedding and has a pregnant girlfriend. Everyone is on board that it is an engagement. FL has used her resources to help SML's family when they were facing bankruptcy but she is given the terms that she MUST win this contract in order to break off engagement. Ummm.... SML's family is scum and manipulative in this version so I really don't understand why she couldn't have broken off relations 3 years ago when SML left. Even more, I don't understand even more how they can force her to win a contract for the privilege of breaking off an engagement with a cheater who abandoned the wedding/marriage. Usually cheating is a valid reason to end engagements in most dramas let alone a pregnant cheating partner being involved. I am going to continue watching just because I want to see the differences but I had to comment because so far this change to the script makes no sense to me.

I read some articles about policies/actions during the one child era including abortion of 8mo old fetus when mother had zero kids but father had one already, mass forced abortions and sterilization, fines for permitted extra kids, rural areas sometimes allowing second children if first was female, etc. So many contradictions. Honestly after reading the articles the obsessive behavior about how detrimental abortion is in some dramas seems so extreme from the reality of the one child era.
@@cammyk5 Asian dramas are always extreme. You can't watch them with logic or you won't enjoy. Of course recently we have more "realistic" based dramas but majority will always be over dramatic.
I saw a drama with him ages ago and the comments all referred to him as Skeletor.... and it stuck with me. This is the first drama upload I've seen his actual name given.
