Great video, step by step. One question though, what do you mean by grooving when inspecting it?

Would this whole process be the same for dual wheel 12k axles? Getting ready to replace the bearings and check the brakes

This is helpful. Would be good to have the part numbers listed for bearing kits, star washers, and seals. I think a brake adjustment video would be important as well. This would help us do it all properly. Thanks!

Thank you Bert for the input, we will definitely pass along this information to the team. We'll have more information on a new parts system soon. Great idea on the brake adjustment Tech Tip, we'll add that to our growing list of upcoming episodes. Have an amazing day!

@@texaspridetrailers i agree. we know there are hundreds of DIY videos with several different people saying to do it a certain way but a few brake adjustment videos from the actual trailer manufacturer with part numbers would be pretty nice to see.

Worst thing you can ever do to a torque wrench is use it as a regular ratchet. You just wrecked the calibration on it. Only ever use them to tighten nuts and bolts that have already been snugged up

just a question about the inner bearing numbers on the 9K axles. I see you have the 387A bearing here, which is what your website lists as the correct one too. I also notice on the website that bearing 25580 can be used for 8-9K axles. Without pulling mine out to check, which one would i need? I have a 41ft gooseneck from Texas Pride with the 9K axles i bought last year. I have had the bearings out a few times to clean and inspect but didnt look at the number on them since they were still looking good.

Hi Warren, thanks so much for the great question! Here's the response from Brad Walker:
"On our 9K wheel ends, the inner bearing cone is a 387A and the outer bearing cone is a 25580. On an 8K, the 25580 is actually the inner bearing in that wheel end. The same bearing is used in both wheel ends but on the 9K it’s the smaller bearing and on the 8K it’s the larger bearing."
We hope that answers your question, but if you need any further clarification, please let us know. Have an amazing weekend!

@@texaspridetrailers I have a 40’ gooseneck flatbed with 12k dual axles. Without removing them would you know what the inner and outer bearing part numbers would be?

Loosening the lug nuts in a star pattern, that’s a new one. Not needed. Only tightening them in a star pattern.

U guys have a very professional looking channel, video quality, b-roll, diff segments, like the "tech-tips" segment. With the age of the channel, the quality and content like this you should do very well. I'm not a marketing pro or anything but I know a few things. If your interested in growing the channel I'd like to help u out for free. If your happy with results you can decide to keep me on or not.
Just an offer. With the quality and content of your channel I feel like you could have an enormous audience. Also I watch a few huge RUclips channels that have mentioned you guys and use your trailers. Thats a tool to take advantage of as well. The boosted boiz giveaway collaboration should yield some decent results if it hasn't already.
