We always bought a new ornament every year for each of our children representing their interests/sports/hobby for that year and wrote the year on it. When they became adults and bought their first trees, we gave them a box with all of their own ornaments since birth. It made it a little more special to start their own traditions and fill their tree. We had fun recalling all of the memories made. I hope you both have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄🦌🎅☃️
I have 6 silver bells that I bought in Germany 42 years ago for my first Christmas tree. Each year they are the first ornaments on the tree and the last to be taken off. Some day I'll give 3 to each of my two children. But not yet! I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing your videos in the new year. 🎄☃️🎅
Fantastic Christmas video with interesting facts .🎄🎄 A Merry Christmas to you all at D&B . Look forward to seeing more videos in the New Year . May 2024 be a kind year to all
I love this one, Jacqueline! The perfect episode to watch on Christmas Eve. Wishing you both the most magical Christmas 🎄I can't wait to see you again in the new year 🎄xx
❤🎄 Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year 🎊 Loved the history and the assisting pics. I'm from Greece and before moving to the US where we adopted the gift giving, we'd decorate a small artificial tree, bake the traditional biscuits and celebrated the birth of Christ. That's all changed nowadays even in Greece. These days in Greece not only is gift giving a must but decorating a real tree is in fashion as well. The village display is gaining popularity as well.
I always go overboard with Christmas decor makes everything so bright and happy. I only did nine trees, big and small, this year, with all the other decoration , call me crazy. The only thing I don’t like about Christmas is the demand of gifts I find that stressful. Having a big dinner with family and friends is my idea of a wonderful celebration! Happy Holidays!
Wow 9 trees?!?! Your house must be VERY festive! 🥰 I love it! I find the supermarket food shopping stressful 🤣 Have a wonderful festive season Brenda 🙏🎄
Dear Jacqueline, Thankyou for all the efforts you have put into creating fantastic videos. Wishing you and your husband and all your family a Blessed Christmas and safe and Happy New Year 🎄🙏🇦🇺💖
How can I have possibly missed this video during Christmas Time?! I love this channel. The content is very charming and interesting. This is one of the most lovely and nice video about Christmas decorating.
What a wonderful video! I love the history of just about anything. I'm in the US my husband is from England. @hen I was a kid, my mother put tons of tinsel on the tree. TAfter Christmas we had to take it all off and store it for the following year because money wasn't free flowing. Now that I am an adult, we decorate our tree, as well as the rest of the house with red and green. My main decor includes evergreens, holly, and berries which is my favorite motif. I have Christmas dishes, which I adore. They have holly, berries, fruit, and tartan ribbon around the edge. I cannot understand all of the white, silver and gold decor. It looks very cold to me and could be decor for any time. I guess I'm old-fashioned. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones! Looking forward to your channel in 2024!
Hi there Teresa! So so terribly sorry I've only just seen your comment! Thank you for your lovely comment ❤️ Where abouts is your husband from? I was born & raised in Hertfordshire🤗(although I'm Scottish technically😅). I agree I'm not for the gold, white, silver look; I think I mentioned in the video that I would love to start collecting mid century ornaments (which are of course usually bright & vibrant!). I hope you had a lovely Christmas time & thank you for being part of our channel. Sending love xx
Aww I miss going to my aunts house for Christmas and seeing her silver tree! She had a small version on a table with tiny ornaments all over. Adorable! I have seen them for sale somewhere online but I do know the up light device for these are fire hazards. So be careful with that! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Thank you Joanne! Have a look at our Christmas Carol theme video (Victorian design style) scroll down to find it 🤗 I think it's up your alley & covers alot of Victorian Christmas 🎄🎄

I started hiding the pickle in the tree to represent my German heritage and chocolate coins in the stockings for my Jewish heritage several years ago.
