How to win in Cataclysm PvP:

Only men of true culture are able to pull off warroir in PvP. So if you are a FotM Andy its good advice.

Great guide, i'm guessing the engi goggles with resilience cog will be pretty good in S9. Is Feral / Ret viable in 2s ?
Yep, the goggles are great, ret and feral is a very good comp, there’s better options to play with for both, but you can still get super far as ret+feral nonetheless
Nice guide mate, I have a question, if you are taking judgement of the pure would you not want to take Sanctity of battle for the crusader strike CD?, would 40s hoj not have more benefit?
You could consider the HoJ CD reduction talent, but getting that WoG ceit under 35% hp is too much to pass on, and the Crusader Strike isn’t affected much by haste anyway so that talent is kind of a waste

I saw that, in just some weeks or months, Deathwing and Mistblade2 lost a lot of players, like 1k players. Thats so sad because i love cataclysm and MoP, but it feels like playing in a server with only 1100 players will be bad because there aint people to do bgs and dgs 😣
Bro..what's the best spec for pala in Cataclysm, Holy or Retry? I like both, but based on, you know, retry being a good dps or holy being a good healer, which one it's the most useful in pvp?
They're both good in pvp depending on what you want to play and what your preference is. If you like to heal try out holy, if not play ret.
Either way, the cap in the season is so high now that if you truly dislike one you can play enough games and have an entire second set.
im new to cata arenas. i would love some content of the different 2s matchups you do on a more regular basis. im doing ret rogue right now which isnt really meta but would love to see some content on that and also some on ret enh and ret dk or ret hunter.. Just some suggestions on content

Hey Simon, there is no rated BG soloque option but there are 3v3 soloque arenas and active random BG participation on Whitemane which is the best Cata server currently, and you can also earn Conquest points (there is no arena points since Cata) in random BGs too

Like for the video, but man I can't help but notice how plasticky paladin abilities look since Cata. Warcraft 3 pala icons were clean, cool and beautiful. This just looks like yellow rubber.

Hello Meytrix, so what 2 PVE items should I use from the set for the light power bonus?
Head and shoulders? Legs and Hands? Shoulders and Hands? What would be better to wear?
This is very important, please tell me how best to do it for season 9.
And how much Resi is good to have in 2x2? Exactly in season 9.
That set doesn’t exist for season 9, it’s only on Cataclysmic season, and you choose the items based on stat priority, but it’s not a big difference anyway whatever set pieces you choose to wear, and get as much resilience as you can depending on what comp you’re playing and how much targeted you are

By the time I get enough holy power to do anything I'm stuck trying to keep myself alive. Maybe it's coz it's always a dk attacking me
You get Divine Purpose procs too, and you can cleanse the DoTs and snares and kite the DK a bit from the start to get time and make him waste runes or grip on you early
What do you mean you need 2 PVE pieces-when you have none?
It's not a fully geared BiS character that I have 😮💨

Hello! Excellent videos. I have a question. Im playing ret on classic cata right now running 2s with an unholy dk at about 2100 rating. We ran into a mirror tonight and ive been struggling with mirror games. Basically im trying to stay alive as long as possible and tank. Should i wait to run in and let my dk get up time on their dk/pally? Should i pop wings instantly w/o inqui? Is inquisition a waste of a global in a matchup like that? Should i bubble before or after sacred shield procs ideally? I just came back to the game after 12 years and i feel like ive hit a wall. Unless i get a proc im unable to pop zealotry and im holy power starved in the matchup. Thanks for any advice.
There’s no rule for that, depends on the opponents and their playstyle too, I like to start the match with Sac and Unholy Frenzy on DK so we are not CCable, Rep and HoJ on focus, cleansing DoTs can help too so that the enemy DK has to waste runes to reapply them, I’d wait with bubble and try to drop the necrotic stacks by kitting if possible, but if you need to heal yourself and have too many necrotics on you - then you need to bubble there

@@saedrix9807 we usually stay close since we’re both melees too and wanna attack the same target, but it’s often not possible because of all the snares and CC
The icons/alerts of when excorcism is free and for when divine purpose has procd is that an addon?
No, that is built-in since Cataclysm
@@MEYTRIX man I tried everything to turn on the spell alerts but couldn't find them, I'm guessing a classic bug? Ended up downloading an addon anyway. At least now they are customizable lol. Thanks for the reply!

Weird question.... What are the instances in which CS wont generate holy power? Obviously if it is dodged or misses, but I had a game last night where I used CS on a pally and it generated no holy power. The pally wasn't bubbled at the time, but it was the difference between a 2HP WoG and a 3HP WoG. (This is also P1 Cata I have 5% Hit and 20% Exp) Hitting a feral in bear still feels bad.
@@Scott-eq2xe can be also parried, but this and the instances you mentioned are the only way how it would not generate HP

yep, Templar does way more damage than Hammer of Wrath
What weapon do you recommend to get? Zin'rokh can lead to a lot of frustration.
Zin’rokh has the same stats as Vicious PvP weapons so farming it for countkess hours doesn’t make much sense, for ret you want to have the pvp weapons or if you have access to a PvE weapon equivalent with critical strike then you can use that too
I don’t really think mentioning the Dragon Soul 2 piece is a good idea especially in the first season. You’re gonna confused the new Ret’s who are gonna think the new tier has it 😂

Hi, started playing in the arena in a setup with аwar, very often I face the problem of low mobility against magicians, hunters, are there any tips to make the game easier against such opponents, the talent for acceleration is taken, but I feel very slow against the background of my partner, who can use a jump, charge every 15 seconds
Mobility is unfortunately retribution’s weakness and you want to prioritize using Hand of Freedom on your partner most of the time too, you can Cleanse slows off of yourself, Judgement for increased speed for 2 seconds, but that’s about it, then the warrior needs to keep his Hamstring on the enemy or even root them with Improved Hamstring to help you catch them

This is the first time ive seen expertise be recommended for PvP since its inclusion. Has something changed in PvP to make it more valuable?
you mean if anything's changed since WotLK? you get parried and dodged a lot so it's advised to have some expertise to mitigate that, having 20 expertise is a rough value recommended for PvP

@HowIPartedTheRedSea it has always held a lot of weight especially with how many ferals and rogues you see.
It's even better now because if you dodge or parry crusader strike, it delays holy power

hey, sure, especially the first season it's completely fine to go full PvP and it's even BiS going just full PvP for many classes

It doesn’t give holy power and is only used in multitarget situations in PvE

I would stay ret, arms is viable but not very impressive

2 set PvE only on Cataclysmic season, I have full PvP because I never PvEd on that character

I wouldn't say one is easier than the other, it's a different role - one is a dps, the other is a healer, depends what you're more comfortable with

Is Darkmoon Card: Hurricane (strength variant) good for ret or just stick with pvp trinkets?
it's ok, but PvP trinkets are better and waaay cheaper
for casual bg u can use pve trinkets but more competitive play you probably want full resilience. especially for arenas.
Why would a ret need a guide? Simple keep walking towards the enemy no matter what, spam buttons and hope for the best while cycling through defensives and use freedom on cd. Paladin is the only class in the game you can jump on and be guaranteed to get 2k+ rating. I have played every class in the game and paladin was by far the easiest for max rating, don't even need to no the buttons

Feral is great too, but I wouldn’t call it casual, still very high skill ceiling if you wanna use the whole toolkit

Not current on Cata Classic, may be current if you play on a private server, first season is Vicious, then Ruthless and then Cataclysmic

Nope, same as with any class, and I don’t use Weak Auras, I use TellMeWhen for similar things

hey sfzr, I am actually a healer player too 😏 I would go for JWC and BS to benefit from resilience with disc priest or r sham, they both need as much resil as they can get

Zealotry and wings at the same time is wasteful. Ability prio gets too long, especially with purpose procs. You'll either be sitting on hammer of wrath, exorcism procs, or have 3 holy power with crusader strike available. Using them separately wastes less damage.
depends on the situation - as with anything in PvP, this is the ideal and 90% of the time working especially in 2v2 scenarios when you don't wanna play long games

For pve wings and zealotry good cus most of the time you dont have to move boss fights and you can use everything in perfect timingbut pvp its waste you are right buddy

Absolutely, very good comp, it gets countered by many rogue comps but it’s definitely highly viable nonetheless

yep, I've seen people relatively high with it, it's not ideal for any of the classes included but it can get you pretty far
