I started with the strongest, most full flavored cigars I could find. I still enjoy them, but I am really falling in love with these mild cigars and that whole flavor profile.
What's up fellow Celtic Viking. I think mild cigars are a lot better than people give them credit for. I still love full body cigars as well, but it's been nice going back to mild's here and there for the past couple years.
As an upcoming cigar smoker, I found your channel and enjoy the quality content. With the seasons changing, I often find that my tastes change as well. Something light in the Spring/Summer months and perhaps something of fuller body in the fall/winter months. This video is what I was looking for to find something mild to enjoy this summer.
I like the Espinosa Creme. It was the first cigar I tried and I really like the mild flavor. And while I am currently trying to expand my pallet, I think mild cigars may always be my go to.
Pretty new cigar smoker your reviews and recommendations have been spot on. At the lounge now enjoying a Perdomo champagne series you mentioned and really enjoying it thank you for sharing your knowledge it’s much appreciated
I’m a new smoker and have only smoked mild cigars. Love the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real. Actually looking to get into something a little more full bodied than what I’ve been smoking. Love the videos as always!
Try a San Cristobal Elegancia or a Perdomo Habano Connecticut for the next leg up in terms of a slightly fuller body. If you want a bigger kick and want another suggestion for the next step from those, let us know!
If you’re looking for a tiny step up from mild, then I recommend sticking w Conn shade or Cameroon wrappers & going to med strength. My top suggestions (no order): - Cohiba Connecticut (pricey, but if you can find a good deal, amazing flavor) - D.E. Undercrown Shade (simply outstanding) - Oliva Serie G (best Cameroon on the market) - A Fuente Hemingway
Ive been smoking the more full bodied cigars for years now. I've only recently begun revisiting mild to medium cigars and boy was I wrong for ignoring them. I love the Ashton Classics as well as the Davidoff, AVO Classic no3, and the Royal Salute from AF
Enjoying the Oliva Connecticut right now. It is great! I find that if I smoke them all (mild, medium, strong) I am able taste all the notes of each better. If I only smoke one type or the other for too long they all end up tasting like just like smoke, nothing more. Now I am a relatively new cigar smoker. Only smoking them for 2 years now. So I know I still have a lot to learn. And ENJOY! I appreciate your videos. Thank you.
It's always good to keep your palate guessing and developing by trying different blends. Happy to hear your journey is going well and we're glad to be a part of it! Thanks for watching.
Need me one of the Ashton’s, the way you talk about it makes me want to try it. I’m new to cigars and only had a few different ones, but I want to get your beginners pack.
@@holtscigarsstaying within the Ashton family… what would be the next two incrementally stronger cigars after the classic? Love your channel and approach… classy/informative 😊👍
Just picked up the Connecticut Cream sampler pack at the Townsend Road store yesterday. Great location with very helpful staff, wish I had time to enjoy a smoke in the lounge! Looking forward to trying a lot of the sticks you mention in this video that are in the sampler. Thanks for the informative videos.
I have tried most of these favorite's. Any time I have ventured outside the mild realm, I'm disappointed and always head back into the mild spectrum. I guess some of us just enjoy mild cigars.
If it makes you feel better- I’ve smoked cigars ranked in the upper-90s. Did not enjoy them, despite really appreciating all they offered and their quality. What I’ve learned (more than once) is that when people say your own preference is what rules the day, they’re right. Of course you need exposure to the spectrum of flavors so you understand those preferences, but don’t buy something that you ultimately won’t enjoy smoking. Stick with what works, dabble-out from time to time, but stand behind what makes you happy. There’s a reason so many have been sold.
One of my favorite muld cigars is the rodriguez reserva privada, they age them 4 years and i forgot i had some i bougbt at the factory in key west in 19, what a stick
Wonderful video. For new and experienced cigars smokers, the beginning is awesome advise. I keep a fairly wide range of cigars in the humidor(s). From mild to full. Each has it's own characteristics and nuances. This all helps to develop your palate and all sorts of enjoyment. I generally smoke medium to full bodied cigars, and mix in milder ones regularly.
I'm just getting started in the cigar world at 36. My first one was the other day an Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Short. Are most of these comparable to that.
Welcome! The Fuente Hemingway is medium-bodied and has a little more strength than these. We have a review on the Hemingway you can check out as well: ruclips.net/video/a2NlAt4OW8Q/видео.html
Hey Mazz. I tried a Montecristo no.4 last night and did not enjoy it. Far too much spice and very rough tasting. Are the others you recommended much the same in taste?
Some of my favorite mild cigars are the Perdomo Fresco, La Unica 400, EP Carillo New Wave Connecticut, and my most recent new favorite the Montesino Gran Corona Connecticut. All have very similar flavor profiles, but with their own personalities. Highly reccommend to anyone looking for a great value mild strength cigar.
I’ve been stuck on the montecristo classic series for a while now. Tried the San cristobal on my cruise. I think the flavor changed drastically half way through the cigar. I was I tripping?
I’m the same way. There is a certain smell that I’m trying to find.. I get it with the Romeo y Juliet reserva the Ashton classic and that Perdomo 10th anniversary… I just started smoking cigars so im as green as it gets! I love that certain smell though…
Im new to the cigar world i saw online that mild cigar have low nicotine to non detectable amounts is that truee? And which is the best mild cigar with low nicotine to start with
So Ashton classics, it's just a Ashton cigar correct? It doesn't actually say classic in the name? I'm asking becuase I called a local shop and they have Ashton cigars but nothing classic in it
I agree completely. I think there is this "macho" thing about "bold or strong" cigars. Some of these "aficionados" think if it doesn't leave your mouth tasting like you chewed on some burned wire insulation or a smelted cat turd, you're not a man. Its just dumb. In fact I don't think that's what the old school tobacco growers ever wanted. I've spent a lot of money on bold or moderate cigars without finding ANY I like, I have come to the final conclusion that I absolutely love and prefer mild cigars and that is just fine. The only way I'll try one now is if a friend gives me one.
I personally did not like the San Cristobal Elegancia. It wasn't a bad cigar but I enjoyed the 20 Acre Farm by Drew Estate better. That should be on the list.
Excellent video sir. Now do a medium and full bodied cigars please. P. S I love chocolate flavours in my cigars. What are first ones that come to mind when chocolate notes is mentioned? Thanks.
We'll definitely look at making videos for medium and full in the near future! Cigars that come to mind with chocolate notes would be Ashton Aged Maduro, Padron 1964 Maduro, and La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor.
@@holtscigars I am new to smoking cigars, maybe about the last 4 months or so, however my favourite so far, is the Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta. Its the cigar I've smoked the most so far, really lovely smooth cigar. Anything similar you would recommend to a fledgling cigar smoker ?

I had the Elegancia and just loved it. Might be my favorite. Was a little scared to go to Nicaraguan but was very impressed.

Love that Perdomo Champagne 10 year with a nice sip of Uncle Nearest 1844 Small batch. Thank you again for some great insight! Salute!

Just finished an Elegancia. They really hit the spot every time

Absolutely right on Mazz. I smoke mild cigars because I can actually taste the full flavor of the cigar more easily. Its not overwhelming.

Is Puros Aliados (not to be confused with Cuba Aliados) mild or medium?
