    The history as told by Lee is completely different from the stories passed down and history researched by martial art historians. The style is called Zhu Jia Jiao 朱家教, literally Zhu Family Teaching, founded by Zhu Ya Nan朱亞南. Zhu A Nan was a famous Hakka teacher and his style is widespread among Hakka people in both Guangdong and Hong Kong.
    Geng De Hai耿德海 was from Beijing which was part of Zhili/Hebei. Hubei is a different province in the south.

    I wonder why part II is so much more popular than part I. I was interested to see Hakka people discussed. I looked in Wikipedia, it mentioned that half of the Politburo's central committee or something in the 1980's was Hakka people. I knew vaguely about different language groups in China, like Cantonese versus Mandarin. Let me suggest that Shaolin (Wiki has a good discussion of that under "Chinese Martial Arts") might teach us something here, even as a myth. A monastery is mostly silent, yes? Ethnicity usually refers to language. Why talk? Talking to yourself can really get you in trouble. But it's hard to stop. Part of stopping is getting control of your body. "Look, ma, I have a body!" The more you trust your body, the less you preach to yourself.

    I think Kung fu is the most useful art for self defense and for the mind it’s funny how people say that Kung fu sucks Even Kung fu has been around for 2000 years people had to use it for to fight in the war and if it didn’t work they would of stopped using Kung fu the reason you see Kung fu people losing because its watered down they don’t teach the right way If you find the right teacher it works mma comes out of no were and they say it’s the best they don’t see the truth.

The movies have him as a cool guy but I read that she killed him in a fight. And last Bak Mei, just the opposite. The movies have him as a bad guy ( Mr.Lo Lieh, the best ), but the stories talks good things about him. Thanks.

    there used to have those international full contact competitions in taiwan, in the late 70's early 80's it was full contact and the small gloves with the holes for the fingers, kind of like the MMA style gloves but the ones they used to make back in those days. but after this one year where they had a lot of injured contestants they decided to add gloves similar to boxing gloves and also a set of rules. I think it was called the World Kuoshu Championship or something.

      @MelissaGecolea  4 года назад +3

      @ryukenb2k thanks for your comment. You're totally right. One thing that was clear from speaking to the sifus and Hing Chao is that these martial arts aren't about violence or beating up another person. It's about discipline and fighting is the last resort. And yes, it was used in the past to fight triads. As for MMA, as it's name implies it's a mix of many arts. Globalisation and easy travel have allowed for practitioners to pick up and blend other styles making for a potentially superior fighting style. So it's not really fair to compare an old style to a blended style. It would be a false equivalence. And this is about the history of martial arts here. Not whether these arts are superior or inferior to what we have now. These are different times.

    You can find these kind of movements in any modern dance, break dancing Russian dance groups or acrobatic groups it looks good but this does not train one how to fight.People when will you get over it the way Chinese martial arts have been embarrassed on the world stage for the past forty years don’t you think someone would have step forward by now to save face.Is that not part of Kung fu traditions to test their Kung fu on stage what happened to all the beimo fights we heard about were are they that’s all i am saying were are the fighters.

    And by the way Bruce Lee was not a master. He didn't learn all of wingchun. He studied other styles and incorporated it to his own which he entitled himself a master of his own character. He was still building his style but sadly he died before it was complete and then you had others who had learned from him incorporate what they felt what jkd was. Martial art is self expression. It's not always about fighting just like tai ji is food for the body and soul. You have both yin and yang.

    You don't teach Wing Chun & Jeet Kune Do, to do so shows one's total lack of understanding of JKD while still being in bondage to Wing Chun. Bruce discovered the root of his ignorance and he walked away from Wing Chun. Styles are 'The Classical Mess'. This Wing Chun master is merely in love with the idea of JKD but, he is clinging to his years of Wing Chun practice like a babies comfort blanket in order to sooth his delusion. He needs to step out of his house and stay a few nights in a homeless shelter without his blanket to become liberated. LET IT GO!
    Matt 6:24,
    "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

    • @Classicmoviesetc

      BL never completed Wing Chun and tried what he knew but not perfected and did not do well. Like any art or skill one have to have discipline and do diligent practice daily to master it. If gymnast had Bruce Lee attitude there would be no great ones. They practice their routines over and over again until they master it. That is what Kung Fu is about, the acquire high skill through hard work. Kung Fu=Hard work!

    • @BRUCEJJ66
      @BRUCEJJ66 4 года назад +2

      Aaah, the old "Bruce Lee never completed his wing chun training" bit; so what? please show me an example of anyone who has "completed" their wing chun training actually demonstrating that they can use their WC skills in a real fight with a skilled, uncooperative, aggressive opponent, I haven't seen any. I give BruceLee credit for at least seeing the limitations & weaknesses of his traditional training & the methods thereof, realizing there was much more to learn & experience outside the boundaries of his original style.

      Da Gaffer and he then realized that his jkd was just a “junky kind of dross” compared to grappling like Judo!
      Enter, Gene Labelle.
      What works for one body type, may not work for another. That’s the philosophy of jkd. And now everyone just wants to make it into another martial arts system to follow. Lol.
      Maybe wing chin works great for some body types! Maybe boxing works for others, and Kenpo for yet another!
