    Thank you! Both videos have been very helpful - I'm going in a little over two weeks, also self-driving through RoadTrip Africa. A couple of questions if I may - a the public campsites at Seronera and Lobo, can you pitch your tent (mine's a ground tent) so it's ready for you, and leave on a game drive so it's waiting for when you get back? Do you have to be back in camp by a certain time. I've spent a lot of time at Kruger National Park, where you must be in camp by sunset. Finally, what did you do for cash? Did you take a lot of dollars with you? Were there many ATMs, and where they dispensing dollars or shillings?

      thanks! I would probably ask the guy thats managing the campsite and inform him that you are leaving your tent up. But I'm guessing youll be fine, there were no written rules against it.
      Yes you have to be back by sunset - being out at night is not allowed.
      we used the atm at Arusha. We withdrew the max amount two times but I couldnt tell you how much that was sorry. We didnt actually spend that much, but: National Parks - credit card, grocery shopping arusha - credit card. gas stations - cash, couple of restaurants on the way home - cash
      those were pretty much the only places we spent money. you need some cash, the gas station emplyee that fills upo your car also takes the cash

    Very comprehensive and detailed information. Is public camping in Serangeti National Park always available? One doesn't have to worry about non availability of the camping spot inside the park. Thank you.

      thanks! yes that was never an issue. first come first serve when choosing a spot in the campsite but for us it was never crowded.

    Hi, I watched your video of the trip and it was thoroughly excellent. Can I ask what camera and lens you were using? Thanks in advance

    Brilliant video! Me and my family are planning a very similar trip this September. We will be startihg however from Nairobi.
    I was curious on the question with vaccines and malaria prevention. Did yuu get any shots (hep. A, yellow fever, etc). Any malaria preventive pills such as Malaron? What repellant did you use? We already consulted with few doctors, but wanted to know your experience as well. Thank you!

      Hey Thanks! I was already Hep vaccined but other than that I took nothing with me, little bit of a gamble. Remember we went during the dry seasons so there werent as many bugs around. The only time we had to roll up our windows was when we were driving through tall grass. I dont think we had a single mosquito bite but maybe we were lucky (wore a lot of long sleeved stuff as well)

      @@Travel_Stache thank you! In the end of the day we got hep. A, typhus and YF (the last one because otherwise they don't let you in if you are coming from Kenya 🙂). I hope we also won't have many mosquitos.
      Once again, great job on the videos. I would love to see more such content from you guys 🙂

    Thanks for the useful information. I am going to do the 10-day self-drive safari in Tanzania in October.
    How many gallons of water do I need for two people?

    Other way, Sarengeti north or Sarengeti South or Tarangire National Park. Thank you.

    • @Travel_Stache
      @Travel_Stache  6 месяцев назад

      If I had 7 days I would probably do: 1 day north (river crossing) 4 days south, 2 days tarangire. Keep in mind the traveltimes to get to and from the national parks

    If you had to do the safari in 7 days inside the park then what one area you would recommend. Thank you so much.
