I'm a blitz guy and the QB / Jingles reviews are WITHOUT EQUAL. Watching these guys play and review makes me want to engage in PC side WOT... Class acts, EXTREMELY knowledgeable... just bravo! I was struggling a bit with the ST-I in my first few missions and the various guides I'd referred to got me in the ballpark but didn't come close to touching on the details that assisted me in this video. I don't want to get all mushy- but these guys have essentially written the bible on any tank I've adopted in Blitz and their lessons have helped me tremendously. Granted, I'm still learning something every day- but these guys are my go to for tank reviews. QB and Jingles- this is out to you both but thank you both for everything you've done for the community!
Why do I easily win every game one day and then lose every game the next day despite performing well? It seems as if wargaming has rigged it to keep me near 50% wr.
I'm at the KV-4 right now. The ST-I was the tank I was really looking forward to in this line, and so far the grind has been awesome. I absolutely loved my T-150 and KV-3, but after playing more mobile tanks like the IS for a while, I am slightly put off by the KV-4's lack of mobility. One thing to mention, QB, is that if one wants to grind the ST-I and does not have 55k free xp immediately available when first playing the ST-I, they need to play the IS-3 and get the BL-9 from there. The ST-I uses the D-25T as its stock gun, wholly inadequate by Tier 9, and grinding out the 55,000 xp needed just for the BL-9 is an absolute pain, much worse than the pain it is to get it on the IS-3.
KermitTheGamer when you get the last engine upgrade and the sniper gun the tank is way more fun to play! Turn on cruise control and the kv4 will be truckin!
Thanks for getting around to doing the review I had asked for a good few months ago (but wasn't aware that I wasn't allowed to do that...) of this amazing tank. Good review. TcM
best tank review you have done in a while. I especially like the in-depth look at the armor in wot tank viewer. And the tank comparison tool is handy too, I like being able to see the hidden statistics like the tanks camo value and whatnot.
I have the E75 & got this ST-I from review plays on YT, this is a keeper. E75, ST-I, M103 all great tanks. No fear in tier 10 matches.... & fun in 8 & 7 battles.
I typically just call it the ST-I-don't-give-a-shit. Neither ST-1 or ST-'eye' is wrong since it's a Roman numeral. I pronounce it ST-'eye' as well though :P
Just bought this tank and so far it is one of the best all around armored tanks I've played. It can side scrape fantastically where as the M103 cannot. I bought this at the same time as the M103 and I like this tank better.
I do agree the E-75 changes made the ST-1 and it closer in terms of how they are played, but there are key differences. E-75 still has a lower plate that is larger than some tanks it meets. Plus it catches fire frontally. Those 2 things make the ST-1's armor a more reliable factor among the 2 tanks.
yea but sometimes i get penned in my upper plate in the st-1 , not often like ... 1 in 50 shots goes in thru the upper plate but its frustrateing , its 140 mm at 65 degrees for gods sakes and the lower plate is rubbish if you dont angle , thats what i like on the e75 you just angle and you dont give a shit , who's gonna pen a e75 in the upper plate ? :)) and you can pull off quite nice bounces with the lower plate on the e75.... Overall they are both very similar , just that the e75 is a better bully for other tanks. But the st-1 is better in other parts like the turret , noobs with HEAT or APCR will go thru the flat turret of the e75 , but with the st-1 you got like impenetrable turret armour , i sometimes bounce tier 10 td's with my hatch on the st-1.
Actually i think that it really REALLY is called the ST-1. There is a wallpaper somewhere with it (official) and it says ST-1. Also the MS-1 is also called MS-I in the game (I think).
QB, i penetrated an STI mantlet with my Jagdpanther. The replay got featured in Thunderfunk's channel maxsrgames. Its a radley walters, topgun, Halonens, defender medal game. The highlight is i went one on one against an st1 in which i won and carried the team. I used apcr and yes it did penetrated the mantlet, but used reg. AP for his sides with my 105mm
I love this tank! Absolute beast, especially when it's in hull-down position. Like Russian WoT RUclipsr Murazor said it could be awesome tier 10 tank only by buffing hp and little bit of rate of fire and nothing more.
I have the ST-1 and am struggling to decide if I want to upgrade to the IS-4. QuickyBaby, having played both is it worth it? Is it much of an upgrade moving to the IS-4 or in your eyes the differences so small that I would be better off saving the 6mil credits for something else? Thanks. ;)
nice vid as always. ST-I was my first t9 tank so I defenatly have a softspot for this great tank. Its also my go to tank when I have a bad t62 or batchat day. And if it is a 1 or I , Ive been told that its a I as in the first letter from Stalins first name ( just a side note as a reply to Fraser Dunlop )
The one thing that you didnt mention - is the grind to the top gun. coming from a kv-4 (and hadn't done the other heavy branch) you're stuck for 24k suspension and 45k gun with a gun with 175 penn (from IS) and then you use the top gun from is-3 fpr 70k... a lot of grinding :/
Quicky,..ty for all the effort it takes to make and produce these videos. Is there a chance u can take a current look at the KV13 now that it has a place in the Soviet tech tree,........ I could use your opinion and findings on the tank!
This is an old video, I'd suggest asking him on a more recent video, and he might see your question. Check his playlists, he may already have one, and I know that The Mighty Jingles (Bohemianeagle) has one, but I'm not sure how recent it is.
9:46 It was a HEAT round you can tell by the tiny shell penetration mark. It isn't impossible for IS 8 to pen your mantle though IS 8 gets a nice 258 pen.
Hi Mr. QB. Great review of the ST-I. I will definately pick up the ST-I, since I like the ST-I as opposed to the IS-8 wich i will sell once I unlock the IS-7. So wich do you prefer the E75 or the ST-I and why? Best regards Kaufi
He got so much better at his comentaries nowadays. A few years ago he was just sooo boring, but i am verry happy that he got so much better as he is such an awsome player and i do learn a lot .
Doesn't the solid turret & gun depression make it comparable to the m103(& worth highlighting, the comparison, i.e., or did I miss it? Add to the fact its side armour is decent enough to be compared to an e75, aren't we getting the best of both worlds here?
They like to keep ammo close to the gun..the ST I has tons of storage available in the rear turret. Its not big enough for a crewman but just right for ammo. From the side view look to the rear of the turret furthest from the gun. The armor there is not bad.
Hi Quicky, I learned a lot from your videos and I am getting better at the game but I seem to get in many games that are 3 to 3 tiers over me , what's with that. You and Jingles are the best. Thank you for all your hard work bringing these videos to us. LTrpf. Ron.
Great review, I've already got the IS7 (but found myself not very interested in tier 10 matches), so after I've watched this review I think I should grind the other heavy line. Just thinking does this tank got any modules or crew members that happen to be knocked out often??? For example my newest research Jagdtiger, I really like it's gun, even the stock one, but always after getting hit into the lower plate I get critical engine damage or even start a little camp fire inside the TD :D ... So is there any fears like this in the ST-1.
You've really done great job Thanks for sharing your experience with players ! :) Keep up the good work! Thanks for being with us!;) Good luck & have fun in game. Wargaming English Ambassador - Jasysae
he penetrated your mantlet, because around the gun there is small radius where there is no armor behind spaced armor, he only had to penetrate 100mm of spaced armor and there was no armor behind it, i once penetrated t32 like that
The side of the turret is very vulnerable to getting ammoracked. I've ammoracked 2 ST-I's in back to back battles against them just by shooting in the side of their turret. If you want an easy 1900 hp of damage in 1 shot then shoot there.
I barely got the ST-I and i know it's slow but i must say the armor especially when angled makes all the money and the stock gun it's not bad. Well the penetration is mediocre but the damage is not bad. So i gladly Recomend it.
Have both - I average more damage in the E75 (~2,500) than I do in the ST-I (~2,300) and the E75 I ground fully from stock with its horrible stock engine/gun grind- ST-I just needed tracks and turret researching so was elited v quickly with a few x5 games and some free xp. Wierdly my WR is way better in the ST-I, up in the 70's whereas E-75 is around 56%. The long E-75 grind explains the WR difference but not the avg damage. Both tanks are excellent - although I agree they are too similar.
Q/B have you ever tried to shoot down the barrel of another tank and grappling range to see what would happen ? Please.. please... please give it a go in one of your replays.
I'd say now the ST-I edges out the E-75 very slightly because of how weak the E-75 turret is compared to the ST-I's. The top of the turret is penned by some really stupid shots that just shouldn't go through, also the copula is a big weakness on the 75 with virtually no armor or sloping. The ST-Is slightly higher dpm/RoF also gives you better odds when brawler, but I think the E-75 is harder to circle to death in a medium because of its high traverse speed since 8.8. I own the E-75 but not the ST-I, though. All in all I would say you can't go wrong with either of them. I love the 490 alpha but sometimes the RoF really lets me down, especially when that lower 246 pen low rolls and I get a critical bounce off an important target(E100 lower plate, etc)
Vlad_Smintina IS is better than KV-3. KV-4 is a tank, IS-3 is very good all round tank. IS-8 is more like a medium, ST-I is a strong heavy tank. IS-7 is great, IS-4 is...pretty lacking compared to the ST-I.
Ville Lepoaho From what i saw recently the IS4 is a beast if used by a realy good player. The KV3 is slower but has better turet and gun depresion, the KV4 is a beast if sidescraping. So both tank lines are good, just because the IS line is more popular, doesn't mean it is better. They are just diferent tanks, better than the others in specific situations.
Vlad_Smintina True. But I have to correct you, KV-3 turret is horrible. 57mm gun with 112 penetration is enough to penetrate it frontally. IS-4 is still good, but the IS-7 is better at...everything.
I love ST-I more than other Tier 9 Heavy Tank, in Tier 9 battle its a King in battle field, but IS-4 it's a bad Tier 10 Heavy compare to other Tier 10 Heavy.
Now I know what people are shooting for... now I know EXACTLY what angle I need to work- since QB demonstrates it in gameplay and pause look around opportunities.
I don't want to get all mushy- but these guys have essentially written the bible on any tank I've adopted in Blitz and their lessons have helped me tremendously. Granted, I'm still learning something every day- but these guys are my go to for tank reviews.
QB and Jingles- this is out to you both but thank you both for everything you've done for the community!
please play pc wot it gives you much more ability to maneuver and use your skills that you seem to have :D
Why do I easily win every game one day and then lose every game the next day despite performing well? It seems as if wargaming has rigged it to keep me near 50% wr.
I'm LiveStreaming in 1 hour on www.twitch.tv/quickybaby
yaaay!
Will be there :D
Twitch will probably lag the heck out again :/
me too :D but it is monday? xD
GOD DAMN !! I need doling my homework and learn my latin -.-

that's really good advice! ill definitely do that. i'm almost done with the kv4, and just started down the kv 85.
TcM
Any chance on doing an updated ST-I review? Thanks
War Thunder icon at 19:41! Nice QB, I enjoy Jingles's videos of it too.
I love this thank, it is my favorite tank in the whole game. so far I have had 849 battles with it, very close to finish my 3rd skill
I see you have installed VS, Rammer and IV. Due to the large aiming time, instead of IV it is better to instal EGLD. What do you think QB?
best tank review you have done in a while. I especially like the in-depth look at the armor in wot tank viewer. And the tank comparison tool is handy too, I like being able to see the hidden statistics like the tanks camo value and whatnot.

"Oh my God there's loads of tanks..."
-QuickyBaby 2013
Please put up an IS-4 review
Does anyone else think he's saying "fortunately" every time he means to say unfortunately?
Depends on the context, it might be fortunate for me but unfortunate for the opponent.
QuickyBabyTV Ah I gotchya, makes sense.
Basically trying to sell a garbage tank coz he only played it for the review then probably sold the piece of Shit
+xeroflarexl are you stupid
+xeroflarexl It's a great heavy tank. :|

I like the Pz-eye-C too :P
Tiger- eye eye ftw

ST-1 ~ E-75; Conq ~ M103; IS-8 ~ WZ-111-4; AMX50120 ~ T54E1; A nice pattern tbh.
The st-1 is probably the best tier 9
Hands down. The armor is great and the gun is just excellent in my opinion
Can you do an IS 4 review
I like that you're saying the ST-1(the way it is supposed to be) ad not the ST-i
so is it the ST-1 or ST-I?? too confusing
I think actualy ST- I. But the same happened with the KV1S in the beta, no one reads properly
Actually i think that it really REALLY is called the ST-1. There is a wallpaper somewhere with it (official) and it says ST-1. Also the MS-1 is also called MS-I in the game (I think).
Whats the problem to remember that "1" and "I" is the same, just in Arabian and Roman numbers? Is tankykids saying today Pziv, not Pz IV?
I'ts roman I = 1
ah right, thats a possibility
QB, i penetrated an STI mantlet with my Jagdpanther. The replay got featured in Thunderfunk's channel maxsrgames. Its a radley walters, topgun, Halonens, defender medal game. STI is a tank that loves great matchmaking like E75. It can get wrecked by tier 10, even 9 mediums though. Fun heavy tank
finally a review for this beast. I got chat banned in your stream asking when you were going to do this. :)
I love this tank! Absolute beast, especially when it's in hull-down position. Like Russian WoT RUclipsr Murazor said it could be awesome tier 10 tank only by buffing hp and little bit of rate of fire and nothing more.

QuickyBaby, having played both is it worth it? Is it much of an upgrade moving to the IS-4 or in your eyes the differences so small that I would be better off saving the 6mil credits for something else? Thanks. ;)
Has the tank changed much since then? Could be in need of another tank review on this.
nice vid as always.

How to fight in this stock tank? How to grind it without free experiences with 122mm cannon, 175mm pen? Any ideas? Hilarious full HE video?
I think of the ST-I as an STI, powerful and deadly
Hey QB, could you please do a review on the IS-4?
Quicky,..ty for all the effort it takes to make and produce these videos. Is there a chance u can take a current look at the KV13 now that it has a place in the Soviet tech tree,........ I could use your opinion and findings on the tank!

9:46 It was a HEAT round you can tell by the tiny shell penetration mark. It isn't impossible for IS 8 to pen your mantle though IS 8 gets a nice 258 pen.
Nvm I forgot that Gun mantle's count as spaced armor so it is impossible to pen the gun mantle with a normal AP round from IS 8
Love my ST-1 and my E-75. I reckon the E-75 edges it (just) but that in no way diminishes the ST-1 which is just superb.
QB, I jsut got my Pershing, and it is bouncy when when i angle at 45 degrees, but i just think i', doing it wrong...
More than 1 Replay in a QB Video, thats awesome. You should always do that if you have the time for it
Hey QB can you do an IS-4 Tank review??
Bro this is pretty old vid...
St1 definitely on my list but I really want to Rebuy the kv2 first
turn captions on and go to 20:15. hehe
T9 heavys meeting T7 is damn funny- at least for one side XD
have you done a review on the IS-4
Hi Mr. QB.
Great review of the ST-I. I will definately pick up the ST-I, since I like the ST-I as opposed to the IS-8 wich i will sell once I unlock the IS-7.
So wich do you prefer the E75 or the ST-I and why?
Best regards
Kaufi
Awesome review..best i've watched so far. Hope you do more tanks...gj!
Do you need the top turret or can you use the stock turret as I have the gun from my T-10
Great ST-I info, but might I recommend looking up synonyms for showcase? :)
Does anyone know what video the clip in the outro is from? Where he shoots that tank mid-air?
wait a minute... are you the guy that showed how to make a giant tree in minecraft? XDDD
Sebastien van Tiggele Wow haha! what are the odds! So cool to see you here!
Its an unholy combination of an E75 & T30.
Do u have any opinions on when the ST-I is stock??
I managed to grind through this this tank in 2 days because its such an excellent tank (weekend with nothing to do) while tier 10s were on sale
why he's forgotten to mention is that where the gun exits the turret is a 0 armor zone
Are you gonna do the kv4
this really does show how some tanks just outperforms others
one of my favorite tanks. thanks for not mentioning where the ammo rack is ;)
They like to keep ammo close to the gun..the ST I has tons of storage available in the rear turret. Its not big enough for a crewman but just right for ammo. From the side view look to the rear of the turret furthest from the gun. The armor there is not bad.
how did you do that ? to see or watch your own replays ?
Hi Quicky, I learned a lot from your videos and I am getting better at the game but I seem to get in many games that are 3 to 3 tiers over me , what's with that. You and Jingles are the best. Thank you for all your hard work bringing these videos to us. LTrpf. Ron.
If you get games where tanks are 3 tiers higher then yours you should play something else then your chaffee
Sometimes when you get hit in the lower plate your driver gets killed like you saw in the first replay
do you have IS-3 Tank Review ?
Looking at the damage you recieved, I'm pretty sure the E-100 was using the 128mm w APCR
what do you prefer, E-75 or ST-I?
You've really done great job
Thanks for sharing your experience with players ! :) Keep up the good work!
Thanks for being with us!;)
Good luck & have fun in game.
If you want an easy 1900 hp of damage in 1 shot then shoot there.
which premium tank is the best for earning money ?
Buying soon ST-1 and thanks for review
So, ST-1 or E--75, which is better?
I barely got the ST-I and i know it's slow but i must say the armor especially when angled makes all the money and the stock gun it's not bad. Well the penetration is mediocre but the damage is not bad. So i gladly Recomend it.
Ah the old days of the crazy lamp.
Q: do u like the new tanks is 9.13 (from the new nation)?
can anyone provide a link to the program he is using?
I have the st-1 and im keeping it only after 60 games,i have a 77% winrate in it.Its an excellent tank.
What should the RAM be at to get good graphics
So does this still apply today after 9.20?
Would love to see a review of the wz-111 1-4
Have both - I average more damage in the E75 (~2,500) than I do in the ST-I (~2,300) and the E75 I ground fully from stock with its horrible stock engine/gun grind- ST-I just needed tracks and turret researching so was elited v quickly with a few x5 games and some free xp. obj 268 review? i really enjoy your reviews!
I have this tank also and the rest of the Russian hvys and it is vary fun to drive similar to what the is4 was before it was moved to tier 10.
Love the look of the tanks gun
This tank holds my highest potential damage records on the live server with 12k and 14k damage.
When can we see a T54E1 Review ?
Any tip on using sti in wot blitz? Some tips doesn't work on wotb for tips tank
First step is to learn the name. St-1
Had one I sold moths ago,but I just bought it again yesterday, helluvah fun to play !
Hey Quickybaby, I reckon you never have camo on your tanks. Why is that?
please make a video of the Tiger 2 !!!
SO WHEN IS AN IS-4 VIDEO COMING??
Q/B have you ever tried to shoot down the barrel of another tank and grappling range to see what would happen ? Please.. please... please give it a go in one of your replays.
12:55 best thing I have ever seen in wot, how unlucky.
u got War thuder too??? make some videos about that too!
Quicky Baby! its already 2015.
If you can read this, it would be really appreciated if you do an Updated Review or more IS4 gameplay.
Thank you!
Yess! Do an is-4 review!
awesome review dude. thanx
quikybaby how do you make money in WoT?
(ingame credits)
Please tell me again why the IS line is better than the kv line?
Because of better mobility?
I don't think that's enough.
Vlad_Smintina IS is better than KV-3. KV-4 is a tank, IS-3 is very good all round tank. IS-8 is more like a medium, ST-I is a strong heavy tank. IS-7 is great, IS-4 is...pretty lacking compared to the ST-I.

From what i saw recently the IS4 is a beast if used by a realy good player.
I would say that the kv line has gained more usefulness these days with wg basically making half the maps dity maps.
City
I prefer the "Mother in law" a.k.a. VK 45.02 B. I love that tank ;)
I love ST-I more than other Tier 9 Heavy Tank, in Tier 9 battle its a King in battle field, but IS-4 it's a bad Tier 10 Heavy compare to other Tier 10 Heavy.
