Agreed. Foppish is a poor word choice. It doesn't describe him. Quite the opposite rather! James is certainly stylish, but in a carefree way. They'd do well to edit that out & choose something more fitting.

I loved his shy soulful sound on his first record, the hat and hair were part of that. He now has a choir, and a look that seems so unlike him. He seems almost uncomfortable in his own skin looking down or away when he speaks to answer. I don't like the overproduced sound. It feels as if James Bay sold out.If it is all like the songs I heard before the album came out (choir and pop) I won't be buying it. I love the James who walked through the streets singing his songs by himself...
Chris Levato just go for the acoustic versions, they are awesome! As for his changes on looks and style, never forget, he does not have to please anyone. It should not be at all about how he looks and dresses and stuff like that, but some people always feel like artists have to keep on being as they used to be just because they liked them like that. The album is not even pop, it is alternative indie. And yes you are allowed not to like it, it is normal that we all like or dislike things, but just do not read so much into it.
