A very successful webinar of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden was held today, April 29th, 2024. The webinar was entitled “Europeans for the Belt and Road Initiative”. It brought together speakers, including leaders, entrepreneurs, and scholars, from Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, and Sweden. The Chairman of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden, Stephen Brawer, who moderated the event, emphasized from the beginning, that this was the first of many webinars that will continue promoting European cooperation with China and the BRI.
The opening speech was delivered by His Excellency Cui Aimin, China’s Ambassador to Sweden. He pointed out that China and Europe have no geopolitical reason for conflict or unhealthy competition. He made very clear that the purpose of de-risking and other obstacles to free and cooperative trade benefits neither Europe nor China. Rather, the commitment to genuine cooperation through Belt and Road understanding will only promote the interests of all parties. All the speakers, representing their respective nations, showed in concise, but detailed presentations why and how their countries continue to grow and benefit from cooperation with China and the BRI.
In addition to Ambassador Cui, the speakers included Mr. Erik Solheim, VP, of the Green Belt and Road Coalition, Mr. George Floras, President of the Belt and Road Associates in Greece, Mr. Jan Menke Hopma, CEO of Innovasian Bridge, from the Netherlands, Mr. Tomaz Amon, CEO of Bioanim, from Slovenia, and Mr. Hussein Askary, Vice Chairman of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden. Many of the participants and listeners, upward of 50 persons, took part in a very active and lively question-and-answer discussion with Ambassador Cui and the other speakers.
In conclusion, all the participants agreed that this was a very successful beginning to uniting European scholars, leaders, and entrepreneurs. In coming webinars, BRIX will work to bring European participants and supporters together with scholars, business leaders, and experts from China. It is in this spirit we can build a powerful international movement for peace and cooperation that is “a community for a shared future for mankind.”

actually the ancient Silk Road launched in Han Dynasty about 2 millennials ago was the lst east n west cooperation of the world that exist at the time The Ming voyage which came many centuries later was a maritime silk road BRI is a combination of the ancient land Silk Road and maritime silk road

Exclusivity of developed countries cannot be sustained any more. It's a multipolar world.
Sanctions, blockades and embargoes won't be accepted any more. Superiority complex is antiquated.
Chinese wants to incorporate the Central Asia market with the Chinese market by the Construction of a New Railway from Iran to Turkmenistan and to Afghanistan Tajikistan to Xin Jiang
But it really has its challenges....the economic gap between Chinese cities with access to the sea and those in the west are too huge....delivery by train just costs so much more....this is just reality....and central asian populations are just so small except for Iran....Iran can play a key role

This is not BRICS forum. They are trying to counter BRICS by organizing this one: BRIX
This not BRICS and not to counter BRICS. Our original name was Belt and Road EXecutive Group in Sweden. Thus X stood for Executive. But we changed to Belt and Road Institute, because we wantet to focus on research and dialog. However, we kept the logotype.
Mongolia woke up to its status as an Asian nation.. not an American nation
China can built many things and infrastructures with reasonable cost and with speed. (Just like Huawei and Apple phones in your hands)
They can build HS rails, ports, high ways, hospital, 5G networks, airports, new cities, railways. Hence BRI.
If your country want one of the infrastructure, order one and they will built at a reasonable cost. If you don’t need it, China can not force you to build an airport in your city.😆
If you can financially afford it, China will build one for you with a smile. If you can not financially afford it, China will provide finance.
If you don’t want Chinese labours, then use your own laboures, but we all know, nothing beats Chinese efficiency and cost.

@@charmainetoo5494 BR😅IX is just as good in my opinion. X stands for all other countries in it. It's understood that Brix starts off as Brics with other countries joining.
