Ain't no way Lisboa or Porto looked more impressive than Beijing and Shanghai in the 1990s and 2000s.

I lived a couple of stops away on line 8 and visited the Oriental Sports centre many times. I remember seeing this being developed while I was in Shanghai, it's lovely to see how it looks now that I no longer live there. The tall building with the crisscross pattern at the top was visible from my flat, and I used it as a landmark when I was riding around on my scooter.
So this is what "The People's Revolution" looks like. Do you hear that rumbling? That's The Chairman turning over in his see through sarcophagus. What an inspiring qualitative leap beyond Western Capitalism!
