Yeah thanks MD. I was dirty on myself for losing that first one. Thought it was a SM but reviewing the footage it looks like it was a large Wahoo. :(. I normally use a 4-5m long shock leader on the braid but didn’t this time, so that was why it snapped my 65lb braid. No stretch in fluorocarbon or braid! Never again.

Cheers. First time I did a video like this, not so sure I’d publish one again. Btw, it was shot on Friday 13th, so maybe that explains the frustration! 😂

@Jetcast IMO channels that only ever release Wins or positive best case scenario event videos are unrealistic, boring, repetitive and deceiving. Showing the hard yards, bad days, mistakes, fails, what worked, improvements and yes the wins, this makes for good honest content. Also, you have done some great detailed videos on your equipment and involved other fellow ski users, these also being valuable and entertaining content. Much appreciated 👍

Thanks for the support. I’m trying to mix it up but it’s difficult! Really appreciate the positive vibe again.

Hi Steve, yeah very good as you can see I hooked a very decent fish, but the XL Realer won’t be available for sale until probably end of Q1 ‘25.

Hi, I “had” a prototype of the XL Reaper and it won’t be shipping until around end of Q1 ‘25. Stay in touch and keep an eye out on my website for when they are finally available!

EveryWhat can you expect honestly, everyone trolling around sevens in close proximity and you hookup and the fish runs and you can't stop it. The boat was a fair ways away and wouldn't really be able to see that well. No need to go upto him and grill him a little when you've got 100m of line out. Shit happens. Fiberglass runabout looked like spearos and you were doing circles around them. everyones a little out of line.

Yeah guess you're right. I probably do expect too much. But in 8 years of fishing there I've never snagged the line of anybody else, nor lost their fish for them. I get a bit cranky when people troll directly behind, almost following my wake. The spearos were not an issue to me. When I hooked up about 60-80m to the NW of them and I saw their spotter was going to ride across the path of my line, I called out and waved and he politely turned. That's all I ask. I kind of liked them being there as they seemed to be pushing the fish further to the west edge of the reef anyway! :) I always keep at least that sort of distance (60M plus) from divers. I just must be unlucky as every year at least one boat takes out a line. This time I lost a $45 trolling lure too, so it's not just the lost fish that hurts. But I do take your point that it happens....part of fishing this time of year I guess. Thanks for watching the video.

It always looks further away on camera, the boat was probably 50-60m away
