I don't think you understand that Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea have both been ranked in the top 5 visited theme parks in the world. Disneysea focuses on Duffy and friends as well as has character meets (check the app for the locations), but since both parks are owned by the Oriental Land Company not Disney, they only have certain characters for licenses. You clearly haven't been to California Adventure or Disney Hollywood Studios which is what Disneysea is like (with minimal character theming) as it was designed to compete with Universal Studios. There are also parades and shows with all the characters which again you didn't seem to attend. Fantasy Springs was opened to alleviate the high volume of guest attending the other parts of the park (like Toy Story, Journey, and Indiana Jones), not because they were suffering financially or popularity wise. If you had gone to the other parts before you would understand there's a reason why DisneySea is one of the top parks in the world and that there are characters which you didn't see.
Hey there, thanks for sharing the information. As both Disneyland and Disneysea are popular, that’s why we made the visit for the very first time. Yes we have never been to Disney park in California, we visited Paris and Hong Kong only. This is not to compare the theme parks in different, just sharing our perspective. For the first time visit, we didn’t plan well, and that’s why having to queue over 1 hour. And we priorities rides over meeting the characters, that’s true. You seem to like Disney theme parks, what would be your takes and recommendations if don’t mind to share here.
