  • Residents in Warwickshire market town of Alcester are doing their bit to reduce household waste and help the environment.
A monthly Repair Café run by volunteers aims to mend broken items and stop them going to landfill.
The repairers get to exercise the skills and talents they’ve built up over the years that might otherwise have gone to waste.
Whilst, members of the community get to meet in a friendly environment and have a chat over a cup of tea as they wait for their items to be fixed.
Now a worldwide initiative to help recycling, items get fixed for free or a small donation.
Alcester Repair Café meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Eric Payne Community Centre from 2pm to 5pm. See Facebook for more information.
