This Lorus field watch is really good for the price. I have had mine for nearly a year now. It was in a sale at my local Argos store for only £29.99 so I didn't hesitate in purchasing it. The lume on this watch is just awesome and will last all night long. I quite like the day and date window like other Seiko watches have but yes I agree with you that on a watch this size a date window alone would have been suffice. It's not really a negative for me though. I also have changed the strap supplied for a nice leather strap which in my opinion makes it look a lot better. The strap it originally came on is the only negative for me because of how flimsy it looked. Lorus do two other field watches which are made of Titanium and are both the same size as the watch. They cost around £70 though but are worth every penny. They can be hard to find but it's rarely you will see them in the shops. I was lucky as I did manage to purchase my 1st one from Hinds the jewellers. I purchased a green dial version of the same watch from Amazon UK at the same price. Definitely worth looking out for the Titanium Lorus field watches they are awesome. Thanks for your review.
It is a looker alright, I bought a bunch of those NATO's for half nothing just so I can swap it out regularly. It's pretty damn close to my favourite quartz watch I own.

@@TheWatchtowerWatchReviews absolutely agree, one of those nuggets that everyone could benefit from having in there collection, I picked mine up from argos last year I think, less than £20, amazing value....will go for years....
I bought mine from Argos today for £29.99, to replace my trusty vintage Timex Expedition that the crown fell off somewhere and I'm very happy with my purchase. I asked if I could check that it was one with the screwdown back and the drilled lugs version which it was, so I snapped it up and wore it straight out of the shop. You could tell the Lumibrite was charging immediately as it even shone walking under the trees in today's sunshine. The Lumibrite is much brighter than the Timex Indiglo, so I'm sure I'll be popular in the cinema when the lights go out and the film starts! 😄
These are ridiculously good for the money. I think there actually is another Lorus field watch that looks similar as well IIRC, but don't think it has the lumibrite feature. The lume here is totally insane. I might have to get one of these considering the price.
There is a few that look similar alright, and even a titanium one, but that doesn't have lumibrite, if memory serves correctly. I highly recommend them, wore mine yesterday after work, still very much loving it
He did actually, I can't honestly remember if bought it or saw the video first and then bought, he did a good video alright. My style of review is a bit different to his though I think. 😊
It was on discount over xmas 2022 and was so cheap I thought Id get one and if I didnt like it no worries but actually its a really well made little watch.
Got one the other day, outstanding value for money, one of the nicest watches I've ever had and possibly the cheapest! Absolutely excellent 👌, great review btw
Had it, sold it and regretted it. It's an amazing watch, best affordable bang for buck field watch. It's silly how much watch you get for the price. Both with that one and the Titanium model. 👏💪
I sold mine, I actually bought one second hand and sold it to another RUclips watch reviewer Time In The UK. However, I only sold it as I got this brand new one in the Secret Santa. 😊
I bought a Lorus lumibrite watch years ago. It's sat in my window sill all that time - because the bracelet was too small. I just picked it up and it's still ticking. Not only is it ticking... it's the right time as well! Though the date is out. I'm planning to wear it everyday at a new job working with metal. If it gets scuffed and scratched I'm really not going to lose sleep over it. It's a fantastic little watch! And the best lume ever!! 👌
Funnily enough, I just put mine on today on a mesh bracelet for the first time in ages, and forgot how comfortable it was. 👍And it was only a few seconds off!
@@TheWatchtowerWatchReviews mine had an integrated bracelet. It's been a real struggle to get a bracelet to fit. I've modified a Citizen Bracelet by taking the end links off and it sits loosely between the lugs. Maybe I'll try some small washers or nuts to fill the gaps. But thank you for your video. These watches need more love ❤

You did indeed, I liked that alright, very nice. I haven't been bothered about the minute hand, I've only had one watch where I really noticed that flaw
@The Watchtower Watch Reviews Have you come across watches by other brands that have all of the same features (day, date, a lume system, case size and durability)? If so, what are they? Thank you for your content. I appreciate it.
Not that I can think of off hand, Timex had the Indiglo, a quartz movement and sometimes 100m water resistance, but often their cases are brass rather than stainless steel. That's the only brand I can think of at this price point.
I wonder how this compares to the MDC Glow in The Dark Watches from Infantry on Amazon. Almost identical designs but the Infantry is almost half the price. Then there's also the Soki one which also looks almost identical and that watch is on AliExpress for $4.
I suspect the build quality is nowhere near as good. I own a Lorus Kinetic field watch that has been running now for nearly 30 years with no intervention. I also had the fully lumed version that my friends used to joke must be radioactive as it glowed so brightly. It was often the brightest thing in the room and could be spotted from the other side of a darkened arena! I have since passed that one on to son who seems to live in almost perpetual darkness.
@@AndyCarter-db4gt the MDC is surprisingly good quality but yes the Soki is what you would expect for $4 haha. The lume on both are very bright and will still last quite long though

When you say blue lume, do you mean like the BGW9/Chromalite style lume? Never seen a full blue lume dial before if I'm being honest, and I think it would be tough to get on in a budget piece. Deep blue seem to have one, but it's €230, which is 5 times the price of this
